MEET THE YELLOWJACKETS

Coach Baack

HEAD COACH BRYAN WEISS enters his fifth season as the Head Coach of the RCTC women’s soccer team this fall. In 2021 the Yellowjacket squad earned numerous awards: NJCAA National Player of the Week (4), MCAC Elite Team (5), NJCAA All-Region XIII players (7), MCAC All-Conference (7), MCAC All-Academic Team (13), NJCAA Academic All-American (2), MCAC Players of the Week (10), NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year, and MCAC Coach of the Year. Weiss has over 20 years of coaching experience, including positions with Judson College and Briar Cliff University. During his last season as the head coach of the Judson College women's soccer team, the Eagles were ranked #4 in the national rankings and qualified for the national tournament. Coach Weiss has served the Rochester, MN area soccer community since 2010. Most recently, coaching and serving on the board of directors for Southern Minnesota Select Soccer. To add to his Rochester connection, he has coached for Mayo High School, Century High School, Crossroads College, Minnesota Rush, and has served on the board of directors for Minnesota's Rochester Sports and the Southern Minnesota Adult Soccer Association. Weiss graduated in 2002 from Briar Cliff University and earned his master’s degree from United States Sports Academy in 2008. He resides in Rochester, MN with his wife Kim and their two children Kaitlyn (RCTC women’s soccer player) and Charlie. ASSISTANT COACH ALEXA HEPNER enters her second season with the RCTC Yellowjackets after a successful playing career at Concordia University, St Paul (NCAA 2) and South Dakota State University (NCAA D1). She was selected to the NSIC AllConference Third Team in her only season at CSP. While at SDSU, she was selected to the All-Summit League Second Team, Summit League Defensive Player of the Week, and All-Summit League Freshman Team. In total,she started 77 of 78 games and tallied 6,843 collegiate minutes. Coach Hepner made the move to Rochester in 2020 and continued her playing career with Rochester United FC (WPSL). She also has coaching experience with the CSP and SDSU camps, and YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities. Hepner is from Prior Lake, MN and graduated from Prior Lake High School, where she was a four-year letter winner in soccer, and track & field for the Lakers, and was named 2014 MVP and defender of the year in soccer, rookie of the year her freshman year, and was a 2012 state champion in the 4x200. GOALKEEPER COACH SARAH BAACK enters her first season as the Yellowjacket goalkeeper coach. She is a former RCTC goalkeeper (2017 and 2018) and goalkeeper coach with the Pine Island-Zumbrota-Mazeppa Wildcat girls’ soccer team. Baack is from Zumbrota, MN and graduated from Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School. She graduated from RCTC with a degree in Law Enforcement and is pursuing a County Sheriff position.

JORDAN WEBER is a sophomore from Oronoco, MN, majoring in Psychology. In 2021, she played in two games, both were shutouts. She earned her way onto the NJCAA All-Academic and MCAC AllAcademic teams! Before RCTC, she was an All-Conference honorable mention goalkeeper for the PIZM Wildcats. She was also the starting keeper for the Rochester United FC reserve team. Her favorite things are Scooby-Doo fruit snacks, “Legend” by The Score, and hanging out with teammates. ASHLYN NYSTEUN is a sophomore from Red Wing, MN, majoring in Nursing. Before coming to RCTC, she attended DCTC where she was the goalkeeper and Blue Knight Award winner for their women’s soccer team. She played in two matches vs. RCTC and her sister, Brooke, who was a Yellowjacket midfielder. In high school she was All-Conference her junior year and a captain her senior year. She also played eight years for Red Wing Soccer Club. Ashlyn is a fan of all Marvel movies, Shawn Mendes, and The Original Pancake House KEELY TROUP is a freshman from Green Bay, WI, majoring in Nursing. She played center back for North Eastern Wisconsin Lutheran High School and was captain and Packerland All-Conference second team her senior year. During her junior year she was selected to the AllAmerican Second Team by the LAAA. Keely is also a US Sailing level 2 instructor. She enjoys “Momma Mia,” Panera Bread, and monster mix candy. ALLISON THOMPSON is a sophomore from Eyota, MN, majoring in Dental Hygiene. She started 11 games for the Yellowjackets in 2021, scoring 4 goals and assisting in 3 more. She also made the MCAC All-Academic Team. Before RCTC, she was an Athletic-Academic All-Conference team selection for the Dover-Eyota High School soccer team. Her favorite things are buying heartfelt white elephant presents, The Good Doctor, and “Beat It.” MIA PIERRE is a sophomore from St. Charles, MN, majoring in Biology. In 2021, she was selected for the following honors: NJCAA All-Region XIII, MCAC All-Conference, MCAC All-Academic, MCAC Elite Team, MCAC Field Player of the Week (three times), NJCAA National Field Player of the Week (twice), RCTC captain, and RCTC Offensive MVP. She is serving as captain again in 2022. Before RCTC, she was a threetime Three Rivers Conference All-Conference selection for St. Charles High School. Mia enjoys beating Anoka and eating tamales before every game.

ISABELLA ANDRIJASEVIC is a sophomore from Rochester, MN, majoring in Nursing. During the 2021 RCTC season, she earned MCAC AllAcademic and played in 7 games. Before RCTC, she played for John Marshall High School and Minnesota Rush. Bella enjoys scary movies, Khalid, and summer. LIBBY JANKA is a sophomore from Owatonna, MN, majoring in Nursing. The Yellowjacket defender earned the following honors in 2021: NJCAA All-Region XIII, NJCAA Academic All-American, MCAC Elite Team, MCAC All-Conference, MCAC All-Academic. Before RCTC, she was a three-year varsity starter, Defensive MVP, and Spirit Award winner at Owatonna High School. Her favorite things are beating Madison, “Wop” by J. Dash, and the color yellow. ELAINA BENTLEY is a sophomore from Austin, MN, majoring in Veterinary Technician. In 2021, she was busy earning MCAC All-Conference, NJCAA All-Region XIII, MCAC All-Academic, and MCAC Elite-Team honors. Before RCTC, she was a Big 9 Girls Soccer All-Conference forward and the MVP of the Austin Packer’s soccer team. Her favorite things are scoring goals from range, Goldfish crackers, and the word “bro.” EMMA BUCK is a freshman from Zumbrota, MN, majoring in Biology. She was a four-year varsity starter for the Pine Island-ZumbrotaMazeppa Wildcats. During her senior season, she was selected as a captain and Team MVP. Emma is a fan of Spider-Man No Way Home, Vampire Diaries, and Bubblr.

KAITLYN WEISS is a sophomore from Rochester, MN, majoring in Nursing. She started every game for the Yellowjackets in 2021 and earned the following awards: MCAC All-Conference, NJCAA AllRegion XIII, MCAC All-Academic, and MCAC Elite Team! Before RCTC, she played for Southern Minnesota Select soccer club and John Marshall High School. She enjoys pre-game strawberries, fuzzy socks, and the word “janky.” GRACE MASCHINO is a sophomore from Delano, MN, majoring in Nursing. She started every game for the Yellowjackets in 2021 and earned her way onto the MCAC All-Academic Team! Before RCTC, she was a two-time All-Conference honorable mention midfielder for Delano High School and Wright County Soccer Club. Her favorite things are beating Madison, “Fun Fit Fridays,” and Watermelon Sour Patch Kids. KAYLA BARCLAY is a sophomore from Franklinton, LA, majoring in Nursing. The Yellowjacket midfielder played in 10 games in 2021. Before RCTC, she played for Franklinton High School Demons, where she was a captain. She was also selected 1st-team All-District (2018) and 2nd-team All-District (2020). Her favorite things are Lion King, Three Days Grace, and Mardi Gras. KES WHALEN is a sophomore from Dubuque, IA, majoring in Psychology. She played in every game for the Yellowjackets in 2021 and was selected as a captain for the 2022 season! Before RCTC, she played for Dubuque Soccer Club and Dubuque Senior High School. She was also captain of the cross country team and qualified for the IWCOA Girls' State Wrestling Championships. Kes enjoys beating Madison, meditating before games, and cats. AMY GONZALEZ is a sophomore from Logan, UT, majoring in Dental Hygiene. In 2021, she was selected MCAC All-Conference, NJCAA AllRegion XIII, captain, and RCTC Defensive MVP. She led a Yellowjacket defense that had 7 shutouts in 2021. Before RCTC, she played for the Green Canyon High School Wolves and Sawtooth United. Amy is a fan of Teen Wolf, sushi, and Allison jamming out to rock music. HALEY DOYEA is a sophomore from Anoka, MN, majoring in Dental Hygiene. Before RCTC, she played for Anoka High School where she was a Northwest Suburban Conference All-Conference center midfielder (junior and senior years) and led the Tornadoes in assists. Her favorite things are beating Anoka, Chick-Fil-A, and Alex Morgan.

PAIGE JOHNSON is a freshman from Eyota, MN. She was a five year starter for Dover-Eyota High School and also played club soccer for Minnesota Rush and Southern Minnesota Select. Her favorite high school soccer memory is scoring off a header in a playoff game vs. Kasson-Mantorville. She enjoys snowmobiling, Vampire Diaries, and Morgan Wallen. KHLOEE ZELINSKE is a sophomore from Stewartville, MN, majoring in Dental Hygiene. She joins RCTC after one season with the University of Minnesota Morris women's soccer team. As a freshman she played in 19 matches and had 699 minutes as a defender. Before UMM she played for Stewartville High School, where she earned All-Hiawatha Valley League honorable mention five times. She also played club soccer for Southern Minnesota Select and Minnesota Rush. Her favorites are Netflix, wrestling stats, and pickles.

Emily Vollrath

HAILEY LEWIS is a sophomore from Stewartville, MN. She was a varsity starter for Stewartville High School for four years. She was also selected as a captain, All-Conference (three times), and Post Bulletin All-Area Girls Soccer - Second Team. During her junior year she was MSHSL All-State second team, AllConference, and team MVP, while piling up 22 goals and 10 assists. She also played six years for the Minnesota Rush soccer club. In 2021 she won gold at the MSHSL Class A State Track and Field Championships. Hailey is a fan of zorbing, chihuahuas, and eating fried tarantulas. MACKENZIE POLSON is a freshman from Elgin, MN, majoring in Nursing. She was a varsity starter for Plainview-Elgin-Millville High School for five years. She was also selected as a captain, All-Conference, and All-Conference honorable mention (twice). She also played six years for the Minnesota Rush. In 2021 she had 22 goals and 5 assists during the club season and 14 goals and 5 assists during the high school season. Kenzie is a fan of Laffy Taffy, Coldplay, and Princess and the Frog.

EMILY VOLLRATH is a freshman from Dover, MN. She played central midfield for Dover-Eyota High School and Southern Minnesota Select soccer club. Her favorite memory from club soccer is when everybody on her team scored a goal in the same tournament. Emily enjoys Anne with an E, Parent Trap, and Olive Garden. MONGI OBANG is a freshman from Rochester, MN. She was a standout on both the track and field and soccer teams for Century High School. During her senior season, she had 7 goals and 8 assists earning her a Big Nine AllConference honorable mention. In 2019 she was selected Offensive Player of the Season for Century. Her favorites include Raya and the Last Dragon, Lil Baby, and tacos. LAYKEN KOEHLER is a freshman from Dover, MN. She joined RCTC after playing for Southern Minnesota Select soccer club and Dover-Eyota High School, where she was a three-year starter. Her favorite Eagle memory is scoring the lone goal in a playoff game versus St. Charles. Layken is a fan of pickles, goats, and Mac Miller.
