Rules & Guidelines—DO’s & Don’t How to Get the Relationship You Desire

Welcome to ITT the Innovative, Insightful, and Informative, Urban Christian Magazine. This month we take a look into a Taboo issue, Christian Singles and Dating. While there is E Harmony, and Christian, Mingle.com having become digital or technology outlets for today’s Christian singles trying to find a mate. Yet, the traditional church has all but avoided talking about the subject, and we wonder why? Young Christian men and women lack interest to be in a committed relationship leading to marriage. So, we at ITT decided to look at strategies or rules, and guidelines to that will help both Men and Women on how to date and move into a potential committed relationship leading to marriage. In 2014, the Church must become an advocate for marriage, because the reality is God designed man and woman to be together therefore, we must be proactive by creating strategic guidelines for building healthy and productive relationships among Christian Men and Women.

Today’s Church Has Social Media Created Spiritual Deception Facebook, Twitter, Social Cam, and Instagram, are just a few of the many The Body of Christ, has become prey to Social Media formats that has become the these formats because the Bible states “ driving force of our society. Don’t let your Good to be Evil spoken of.” Even in the Church World these Social MeIn 2014, everyone wants to be a Christian dia formats have led to deception in our or Saints on social media but, the decepspiritual walk, according to static’s 360 tion comes in when these same supposmillion posts are made a hour to these so- edly Christians are on the same social mecial media formats which allows people, dia posting cursing, dysfunctional cliché businesses, etc., to find out unnecessary in- sayings, which leads to the Church being formation, about your life that they should openly criticize why? Because living a not know. Godly life has nothing to do with Facebook, or Twitter, you can not live any kind Social media formats like Facebook, Twitter, of way and claim salvation, material gain were designed to improve Businesses espe- or big financial, profile will not get you to cially, small businesses by providing free ad- heaven nor have the favor of God on your life. As the Church we must get back to the vertisement, building a business page so customer can contact you without creating basics of teaching the truth and quit trying a bill. After 10 years Facebook, has become to prove to the world how saved we are on a format for foolish rants from Racial drama social media, by doing so you expose yourto Trying to have Church online, someone self to being false, that’s why the Bible said to me the other day why mention the states “ Watch and Pray that ye enter not negative stuff that is done on social media into temptation” and my response was the majority of post on social media is hypothetical, and unnecessary, if it isn’t someone blaming the devil for something that is going wrong in there life or the next minute the are cursing someone out on these media formats.

So, make sure you are praying before, you post so, deception does not deceive you into saying something you should not. “ Don’t be Deceived God is not mock, you reap that which you have sown.”

Ingredients

Digestive Aid

Almost every chai recipe includes ginger, cinnamon, cloves and black, green or oolong tea. Other common chai tea ingredients are cardamom, black peppercorns and fennel. All of these are considered healthy ingredients in Ayurvedic medicine. Milk, which is almost always part of chai tea, enhances the taste and makes it a richer, more satisfying beverage, but it isn’t necessary for the health benefits. People with lactose intolerance can use soymilk or rice milk.

Ayurveda asserts that poor digestion contributes to or causes many ailments. For that reason, strong digestion is vitally important. The Pacific College of Oriental medicine states that the basic spices in chai help stimulate, balance and support digestion. Cinnamon helps to calm the stomach and combat nausea and diarrhea. Ginger also soothes the stomach. Black pepper stimulates digestive fire as soon as it touches the taste buds. Cloves stimulate digestion. Fennel helps disperse flatulence.

Antioxidant The antioxidant properties in tea are well known. Indiana University School of Medicine reports that the antioxidant effects of tea are not altered by caffeine or temperature. In an interview, Dr. James Klaunig, director of the Division of Toxicology and professor of pharmacology and toxicology at Indiana University School of Medicine, states supplements that contain tea are not as effective as tea consumed in a beverage. He goes on to say that it doesn’t matter whether your tea is caffeinated or decaffeinated. Whether you choose black, green or oolong tea for your chai, you’ll still benefit from a beverage rich in antioxidants.

Anti-inflammatory With its powerful antioxidant properties, tea helps reduce inflammation. Chai tea’s anti-inflammatory star is ginger. Ayurveda frequently recommends ginger for inflammatory conditions like arthritis. In a paper published by the National Institutes of Health PubMed, Grzanna, Lindmark and Frondoza of RMG Biosciences state that recent research has proved the ancient belief that ginger is a powerful antiinflammatory. Reduced Caffeine Chai tea provides a robust, satisfying beverage that can substitute for some of your

Pastor, Prophet, or Bishop, are just mere titles they have no power or authority, to change you or your identity. Your Identity, or Persona is something given to you at birth God has placed those special characteristics inside of you, they are shaped and molded by our Parents, and extended family that will allow you to become a Stable, Sound, successful individual as an Adult in life. In 2014, Christians today are basing there identity off a Title from financial success, to notoriety, the Church causes individuals to fall victim to the idea of a title only to find out that the title does not have any power to change your life. Our life is change when we as individuals realize we need the power of God to control our very nature of who we are, which is called Salvation. But we can also get caught up in the anointing and power that God has given us just like Samson, and David, and use the authority God has entrusted with for our own gain it happened in the Bible more than once so, realize that you are own divine assignment by God to fulfill your purpose and destiny also your role in the Body of Christ, which all of us must do with the time God has given us to serve in Ministry.

No Title give power to an individual, but the individual brings to life the Title by being accountable, truthful, and fair to yourself first and then to others.

We are on this earth to be example of what God would want in the earth but, as we approach the closing of time, the human vessel has become obsessed with being important, to the whole world, even in the Body of Christ we are more concerned with our brand than we are about truly living a saved Godly life. We don’t need reality shows to let the world know that we have challenges, and trials, just like they do, we are human but, living a sound saved and spiritual consecrate life requires submitting yourself to the will of God by reading his word.

So, remember is a Title and it has no power, God has given you the power when you gave your life to him by accepting Christ as your personal savior, so the title doesn’t make you but you make the title.

Just Adding a little more Light to the Room!!

By Joyce Graham When I was in college I had a roommate that had the feet of a three toed sloth. These feet would terrorize me from morning to night. They weren’t ugly, as feet go anyway, but she would use this finger like talons to pinch me when I wasn’t expecting it. She got a kick out of it. She would laugh and laugh about it until I would mess wither meal then everything would get very serious. Being student athletes, we were recognized because we played sports for the school. With us have the same name, her name was Joyce as well, being together all the time, and socializing with many different groups we became known on campus as the Joyce’s. And with this “fame” came the knowledge of my phobia of feet. It was a great topic of jokes and laughter how I couldn’t stand feet. Well, it stated out being her feet, and then it was feet in general. I didn’t want anything to do with anyone’s feet. And I didn’t want anyone bothering mine. Feet made me ill. The thought of someone putting their feet on me caused anger and anxiety that would bring about very negative behaviors. As time went on, and my athletic career continued it quickly became very obvious just how important feet were to my body. With injuries surmounting my ability to function at top capability I began to see feet quite differently. I found that my feet were essential to my everyday life. Without being able to use my feet without restriction I was greatly limited in what I could accomplish. This included everything from going to class to executing appropriately in practice to having a pleasant social life. My feet were the very foundation of my physical being. It was needful for me to take careful and intimate care of them so that I could triumph in any task appropriately.

As I began to take better care of my feet; which included pedicures, massages, and strengthening exercises, I actually improved my abilities in some areas. I was able to hold my sport when a defender tried to muscle me out of it. I was able to make quicker turns which provided me with an edge when driving to the basket, and I could stop quicker and more controlled leaving my opponent a few steps behind or in front giving me the time and space needed to score. My feet were truly an important asset to my game. After basketball, after college, after marriage, after rededication to God, I found that my feet were so much more than just the tools used to defeat my opponent on the court. I found that my feet carried me into dominion power. Is 52:7 says….. 7

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that published peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that published salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Israel was in bondage and was experiencing restriction, oppression, ridicule, and confinement at the hand of her captors. Not only were they prisoners to a pagan nation, but they were not allowed to worship their God freely. God sent messengers to let His children know, your captivity has come to an end, by those that remained in prayer for the chosen nation of God.

By Joyce Graham Mary, having this price put into her hands, sat herself to improve it, not knowing when she should have such another. Since Christ is forward to speak, we should be swift to hear. 2. She sat to hear, which denotes a close attention. Her mind was composed, and she resolved to abide by it: not to catch a word now and then, but to receive all that Christ delivered. She sat at his feet, as scholars at the feet of their tutors when they read their lectures; hence Paul is said to be brought up at the feet of Gamaliel. Our sitting at Christ’s feet, when we hear his word, signifies a readiness to receive it, and a submission and entire resignation of ourselves to the guidance of it. We must either sit at Christ’s feet or be made his footstool; but, if we sit with him at his feet now, we shall sit with him on his throne shortly.

In today’s world, single Christians are looking for God to find that one perfect person. We have even resorted to Christian Mingle.com to expedite the situation. Well, the truth be told God doesn’t pick your mate, the Bible states in Proverbs 18:22- Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtain favor of the Lord. We can decide as individuals who we enter into a relationship with. The challenge to allow God to pick our mate, means if God did, then we would not have the power of choice, and we would be under his control having no say so in the matter. As human beings we are attracted to what appeals to us individually: the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects therefore we pick who we desired to be connected too. Once the dating / relationship process begins, each person finds out various things about the other person and determine whether the connection is solid and strong enough to proceed further. When you decide to enter into a relationship, with connection realize, each person must respect themselves first, in order to proceed further in the relationship process.

When we as male and female decide to enter into what might be a potential marital relationship the first thing we must identify does this relationship has a realistic fit for the both of you. Some of the characteristics that must be in place are: Often, times Christian Men and Women have this fantasy that God will pick the perfect person for you, again that doesn’t happen, just like we make a choice to become Saved or receive Salvation, we make a choice to be involved with individual in a relationship, and just because they are a Christian doesn’t mean that they are the one, a relationship is based on mutual understanding, respect, and making sure you understand where that person is in there life before you start choosing them as your soul mate which often times happens more than not, and when it doesn’t work out do not say that isn’t the one God has for me just realize that each time you meet someone doesn’t mean that they might be the one, just take it slow which means one day at a time and let the seed grow and who knows what might happen, when it does happen realize that the both of you decided together to make a future with each other.

EDITORIAL SECTION ADDRESSING TABOO CHRISTIAN ISSUES

In 2014, martial relationships have become a past thought in most churches. According to static’s in most churches the ratio of Women to Men is 8 to 3 therefore our Churches have more women than men. Then why are Christian women an endangered, species? According to statics 41% percent of Christian women are single with a child between the ages 19-38, and continue to have children without ever being married. Well, what is the concern, that is men and women who profess to be godly and saved get trapped by the spirit of fornication ( Premarital Sex) being deceived, feeling you can continue to be saved and practice a sinful behavior. The time has come for the Church to do some relationship therapy in our churches why? There was statement made to me a few weeks ago by a woman who told me that she always seen herself as a single mother and that you didn’t need to be married to raise good and strong children at first I almost agreed with her then I thought how did those children come into existence, without interaction with a Man.

Christian Women are becoming endangered species simply because, once the Spirit, of Fornication traps you, then you find yourself becoming a victim of emotional attachment, rather than understanding which leads to deception and has kept Christian Men and Women from learning how to have sound relationships leading to marriage and continuing the covenant that God began in Genesis. Sure, life goes after mistakes but, managing your decisions for the future is having the right purpose and goal often times Women become there own enemy by not taking account, for their role in relationship interaction, being willing to accept anything just to have someone is settling which leads to having, less than a true relationship and continues, women being Single Mothers, and women are honored for being that where as on the other hand Men are scrutinize for not being a part of the Child’s life truthfully, neither party Man nor Woman were expecting, to have a child it was just SEX. So, the fact is that Christian Women must stop letting themselves be preyed upon and protect there territory so, they don’t become Endangered Species, to the prey of continuous sex before marriage.

Labels, Not Just Those Annoying Tags in Your Clothes, But JUST AS ANNOYING!!! I have never understood the importance of being associated by a specific group. As a child I was darker than both my parents so I had to explain that; yes, I was black and so were my parents. No, they were not white; no I was not adopted; yes, they were my biological parents. I was born in 1961 when it was Whites vs. Negroes for the society and then there were Light Skinned, yes, I said skinned vs. Dark Skinned within our own race. As a young adult not much changed. In college I was told I didn’t look like a church girl. Ummmm what exactly is that look? As an activity director at two nursing homes, one of the directors said I was too young and pretty to want to work with the elderly, I should have been a model or flight attendant. It was hard for her to understand that helping the elderly was my passion. Working in upper management for a major electronics retail store I was met with, “Wow, I was expecting a white woman the way you sounded on the phone” or “You are really the manager? I wasn’t expecting a woman”, but I knew they really meant a black woman….Now 30 years later, people are shocked that I have been in church all my life and accepted Christ at 8 years old. I just don’t look the type. There we go again…Can someone please tell me WHAT IS THAT TYPE??? Why do people and yes Christians are just as guilty, think that only the old should serve the Lord? Why do we think that we “have time”? The bible said tomorrow is not promised to us, but because we are “Christians” we think we have time. Why? Because we study the bible, go to church on Sunday and sometimes Wednesday if we have time, we are ok.

Labels, the bible is clear about falling into the label trap. Proverbs 22:2, 8, 10-11, (v2)The rich and the poor shake hands as equals - God made them both. Rich/Poor – Label (8)Whoever sows sin reaps weeds, and bullying anger sputters into nothing. (10) Kick out the troublemaker and things will quiet down; you need a break from bickering and griping! God loves the pure-hearted and well-spoken; good leaders also delight in their friendship. SinnerBully/ Pure hearted– Label. Unfortunately, we fall under these labels. We see others as richer or poorer than ourselves, the good and the evil BUT have we ever noticed that we all start out as poor until we accept Jesus Christ and study, diligently study, the Word of God. When we do not pay our tithes, we are stealing from God. When we help the least, we are truly richer, because we are denying ourselves and helping others. When we refuse to move our purse, coat or whatever to allow someone to sit next to us at Church, because that is our spot or because she is wearing that hoochie dress, we are being a bully. When we offer a ride to someone on the bus stop to wherever they are going, even if it is out of our way, we are being pure hearted.

Self-reflect, go through your closet called life and check your labels. Are you going to be content to meet Jesus because you are wearing Prada, Gucci, Yves St. Laurent, FuBu, Coogi, Southpole, and the list goes on, or are you going to be sporting Love, Grace, Patience, Diligence, Tolerance, and did I mention Love? Yes I know it is there twice, because according to I Corinthians 13:13 And now abide Faith, Hope, Love these three; but the greatest of these is LOVE!! What’s YOUR Label?

Prayer requires Insight to the situation often, times as Christian believer’s pray a miss why? Every event or situation we face or that happens has nothing to with Satan or the Devil. When life challenges happen in our lives that creates our spiritual DNA, which is when we pray and pray in the spirit with the right understanding our prayers produce the results we expect. Prayer is a tool that can be over used or under use depending on your complete understanding, of the situation. Well, someone says pray without ceasing, you can when you have clear insight into what you are praying for, far too many times prayer is wasted on situations that we as individuals have control over such as our word or actions, yet when our decisions don’t go in our favor then we want to launch an all out prayer assault when prayer should be used as a safety net like 401 K store up prayers to protect your spiritual assets such as your family, health, your vision and divine assignment, by praying over those things that God has given us charge over wards off attacks to our health, mind, body, and spirit With this in mind our prayers produce results, according to our position in faith and faith requires work, with the works of faith our prayers produce results that our faith activates, without the faith, prayer is simply vain repetition that goes unanswered .

Prayer is like a National Security it is always on alert to ward off the attacks of the enemy. Prayer is design to challenge the Spiritual believer, to press the attack against situations and unforeseen events that try to keep you from making progress in your life Praying with results in mind gives God direct target on where to provide, precise action and which bring quick and divine results, often, we say I hear the Holy Ghost say, there is no scripture that states that therefore we use speaking in tongues often times to uplift our personal agenda not realizing that it doesn’t bring the results we desire. Prayer must have the following to produce the results we pray for. 1. Clear Insight into what we are praying for. 2. Pray with an Understanding 3. Your Faith will produce the results you pray for. 4. Pray knowing that God will answer your prayer.

Costing them Personally & Spiritually

Financial Gain and Notoriety for Clergy’s Family

Tina and Erica Campbell of the Gospel Music Duo Mary, Mary, there Reality show seems to be more than what they bargain for. There 3rd Season on the WE cable channel, our staff decided to review this reality show and what we saw was very surprising. Mary, Mary, has taken on something Christians might reconsider, reality TV, in 2014 Christian Gospel Music Artists are trying to be transparent with the world but, not always a wise decision, after watching the show, it’s more about Money, Fame, and building a brand that about ministering Christ to the world. This reality show has cost Tina Campbell some challenges in a her marriage that has been exposed to millions of viewers, sure as Christians we can let people know we have challenges without exposing them to all the details. At ITT we think they should reconsider the message they are sending and whether Christ would be please regards of the financial benefits, they may say it’s not for that but, after watching there is very little mention of ministry of God so, our overview of this show is at it’s about popularity rather than ministering to the world in the Name of Jesus and it’s just might cost them in the end.

Another Christian Reality show Preacher’s Daughter’s, after viewing this show we at ITT came to the conclusion that this show is about Pastoral / Clergy leaders using there Daughters for financial gain and notoriety which is against spiritual principals. Clergy or Pastoral are not exception, to human challenges when raising a family so, exposing your family lifestyle and struggles behind the scenes is not necessary to help others to understand how Christians live. Reality TV doesn’t help get the message of Christ out to others, it has distorted the message if anything, and allowed individuals and people to become more judge mental , of the Church and why they shouldn’t attend Church. So, it’s best to keep our challenges and trials private instead of getting on Reality TV.

Most if all Individuals have Direct Deposit, from the Professions (Job) so, they have their money without cashing a Check. So, should Church organizations provide online financial services for it’s members, and for donations also, offerings which will provide unlimited financial growth and stability.

Many Churches face financial fall off during, summer vacations and the holiday season why? Because, the congregants take their finances with them instead of leaving financial resources such as Tithing, or offerings with their home church. Just think if your local Church organization, provided online services, you could give your tithing and offering from any where while on vacation.

Church Organization who do not provide online services to their members for financial, giving will continue to experience, financial drop off during the holiday season and summer vacation. In 2014 Families and Individuals no longer walk around with cash on hand according to the FDIC, 82.5% percent of financial consumers pay with Debit or Credit in person and online, therefore it is important that Church organization move forward, and provide online services to their members in order for their financial growth and stability.

We are aware of the possibility of hackers getting into financial system and stealing information but, that has happen only with Retail chains not Banking Institutions which means your members contributions, are safe and protected.

With change there are reservations but, it is necessary for Church to become 21st Century minded in order to grow membership and financial resources sure, as Godly leaders, we must make sure that we are led by God when making decisions that will affect your congregation in any manner but, the season has come for Church organizations to move forward and update to the current financial strategy of providing, online financial services which will open new and even more blessings that will provide your church financial growth and consistency, in giving because many times members forget about Sunday, Morning service when they get paid on Wednesday and if online services are provided then they can go on their Cell Phone or Tablet to give their tithing which will put their mind at ease and feel like they are more apart of the Church why? Simply by giving their finances consistently.

Bishop Neil Ellis Ends Relationship with FGBF and Begin a New Vision Bishop Neil Ellis the former 2nd Presiding, Bishop of the FGBF ( Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship), step aside in a contentious voting race with Bishop Joseph Walker III, Bishop Ellis used his spiritual insight and wisdom rather than divide a great organization such as Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship. Well, others would say Bishop Neil Ellis had another agenda because after announcing, he was stepping aside in the race of Presiding Bishop. Bishop Ellis decided to start his own ministry organization/ fellowship, called Global United Fellowship. Sometimes there comes a season when you must move into new territory, Bishop Ellis knew it was time to move into a new season although we are never ready for change it’s something that will happen regardless ready or not change will happen, often times we wait too long and change thrust itself upon due illness or death then we must move quickly due to the time and the nature of the situation.

Bishop Ellis should be supported and not criticized, he made the right decision to step aside and go in a new direction with the Lord leading him. There many wondering did Bishop Paul S. Morton make the wrong decision to let Bishop Neil Ellis walk away providing that 18 churches that were once with the FGBF are now gone and are under the leadership of Bishop Neil Ellis. Also, this let’s us know that we should stop pitting Christian Leaders against one another for position and recognition by doing so, we divide ministry organization, and people. We wish Bishop Neil Ellis and his organization the best and God speed as he continues to obey the voice of the Lord.

How Pastoral Leaders are Losing Pulpit Integrity Using Carnal & Sinful Clichés

Cliché - A phrase or expression that has been used so often that it is no longer original or interesting. 2. A hackneyed theme, characterization, or situation. Romans 14:16 - Let not then your good be evil spoken of. Pastor RA Vernon of the Word Church Cleveland, OH was the first with a controversial preaching Cliché entitled “ I F You” then trying to clear it up by saying I Forgive You, now we have Pastor Jamal Bryant of Empowerment Church, Washington D.C. putting a cliché in his sermon “These Hoes ain’t Loyal.” In 2014 Ministering or Preaching has become more about the persona or personality more than the Gospel Message, itself which is leaving the Body of Christ with a void message Why? Because if the Bible needed any extra help there would have been another book.

Preaching has become more about showmanship than Salvation, there are a Hundred and One clichés, being used in Clergies messages such as “High Five your neighbor, Touch your neighbor, or Tell your neighbor, 1,2,3 Now dance, these are just a few of the repetitive clichés used in messages, lure people into emotional trances that have absolutely nothing to do with Salvation. The Bible states “ Ye shall know the Truth and the truth we make you free” it doesn’t ask Preachers or Pastor’s to come up with clichés that take away from the Bible and lead to hearses, and preaching things which are not sound doctrine, and the Bible also states that people would have itching ears and turn away from the truth so, these bold and shock jock type clichés by Pastoral leaders, in the Body of Christ let’s us know that Clergy will just say anything to see what kind of reaction they we will receive once the unthinkable has been said, when that is not the reason God called us to the Ministry, our job is to preach the Gospel not our Egos, which is what preaching has become about our egos rather than the Gospel and regard less of how Pastor Bryant or Pastor Vernon try to explain or defend their clichés just look at the definition of the word and you will understand why We just shouldn’t say anything, because the scripture states the Biblical grounds as to why we should not just say anything.

Top 10 supplements for men 1. Boron to protect your prostate Men with the highest boron intakes are 65 percent less likely to develop prostate cancer than men with lower levels, studies show. American men have one of the lowest boron intakes in the world. Taking a supplement is a good first step. How much? 3 milligrams (mg) a day. It doesn't just fight cancer: USDA researchers found that this is the best dosage to improve memory and concentration. Tip: If you can't find it, eat raisins and almonds. 2. Calcium to lose weight and strengthen bones Most men don't get the recommended 1,000 mg of calcium a day (a cup of milk has 300). Men with the highest calcium intakes weigh less on average than men consuming less calcium. But vitamin D alone won't cut it: How much? Aim for 1,200 mg calcium citrate— half in the morning, half at night, to maximize absorption. Avoid coral calcium, which can be full of impurities. Tip: If you already eat three servings of dairy a day, you won't need the excess calcium. There's a risk you may exceed the maximum intake of 2,500 mg. 3. Chromium to ward off diabetes You may know it as a muscle-building supplement, but if you're overweight or diabetes runs in your family, "taking chromium is one of the best things you can do to help keep insulin levels where they belong," says Richard Anderson, a researcher with the USDA. Chromium improves the body's sensitivity to insulin, making it easier to keep bloodsugar levels under control.

4. Coenzyme Q10 to boost energy Your body produces coenzyme Q10; it helps cells manage your body's energy supply. But as you get older, production decreases. The only way to get back up to youthful levels is by taking a supplement. Recent studies suggest that coenzyme Q10 may fight cancer, Parkinson's disease, and Huntington's disease, and may thin the blood to help prevent heart disease. Q10 is also packed with free-radical-fighting antioxidants, which can slow the signs of aging. How much? Researchers recommend 100 mg a day. You won't find Q10 in a multivitamin or get any useful quantity from food. Tip: If you're taking statins, which can reduce Q10, consider upping your intake to 200 mg. 5. Creatine to boost muscle and memory Researchers at the Medical College of Wisconsin found that men taking creatine for just 2 to 3 months increased their maximum bench presses by an average of 15 pounds and their squats by 21 pounds. Australian researchers say memory and intelligence test scores improved after just 6 weeks of creatine use. Worried about creatine's side effects? How much? 5 grams (g) a day, mixed with whey in a protein shake for maximum benefit. Tip: Some men don't respond to creatine by itself. Mixing it with large amounts of sugar can help turn nonresponders into responders. 6. Folic acid to cut Alzheimer's risk Folic acid helps prevent clogged arteries and improves blood flow to the brain by keeping down levels of homocysteine, an amino acid that increases your risk of blood clots. High homocysteine levels are associated with early warning signs of Alzheimer's, such as dementia and memory loss. Researchers in Sweden found that Alzheimer's patients are more likely to have folic acid deficiencies. 7. How much? For healthy guys, 1,000 mg a day. Those with heart problems may need 2,000 to 4,000 mg. But check with your doctor—too much can increase your risk of catching a cold.

8. Omega-3s

to protect your heart Omega-3 fatty acids keep blood pressure and triglyceride levels low and the heart beating regularly. They make blood slicker, reducing the risk of clots and blocked arteries. Studies show that men with the highest omega-3 levels have the lowest risk of dying of heart disease.

But check with your doctor—too much can increase your risk of catching a cold. Tip: Take omega-3s with meals so you don't burp up a fish scent. 9. Selenium to fight off cancer "No other single nutrient appears to prevent cancer more effectively than selenium," says Gerald F. Combs, director of the USDA's Grand Forks Human Nutrition Research Center. It basically forces cancer cells to selfdestruct. Combs's studies have linked increased selenium consumption to a decreased risk of cancers of the prostate, colon, and lungs, among others. How much? 200 mcg a day—more when you're sick. Research on mice, done at the University of North Carolina, suggests that low levels of selenium may make it easier for viruses to mutate, worsening symptoms of the flu. Tip: Nature's selenium supplement is the Brazil nut, which has 100 mcg per nut. 10. Vitamin E to slow the effects of aging This is one of the most potent antioxidants. "Vitamin E may help reduce the risk of certain eye diseases, heart disease, cancer, even Alzheimer's disease," says Jeffrey Blumberg, a professor of nutrition at Tufts University. Bonus: Studies show it also reduces muscle damage after exercise. How much? Up to 400 international units (IU) a day, since most people get just a fraction of that from their diets. (A typical multivitamin has 45 IU.) You can also increase your intake by eating more nuts and oils. Tip: Buy natural vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) rather than synthetic (dl-alpha tocopherol), which is harder for the body to put to use

Encouragement from Our Youth

Creating a better generation for us as youth to become great leaders we must set an example for younger youth to look up to be inspired to look back and say: “Wow, they really made a change as young adults.” So we have to stop wasting our time on Facebook and other social media sources. We have to go out here and make something of ourselves so we have to start now as young adults of the future and become aware of our society. I encourage all youth to build a great legacy for the next generation. To all Youth: I Nashon Thompson encourages you to make our generation improve itself and leave a legacy for others to learn from and build on.

The Life of the Proverbs 31 Woman

Proverbs 31:30; Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain because it is not lasting, but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised! There's nothing worse than a woman who is beautiful and charming on the outside, but empty on the inside. Unfortunately, most women give more attention to their outer appearance and mannerisms than to their hearts. In the African American community, we would say, "They're just frontin'." However, the Proverbs 31 Woman is a woman of inner beauty. She does take care of her outer appearance, but she is not a painted shell or a dressed-up mess. She is filled with the power of God. It is imperative that we get our hearts right. We must get them free of everything that is unlike God. The Proverbs 31 Woman does this by reverently and worshipfully fearing the Lord. It is not a fear that God will strike her down at any moment, but an overwhelming respect for the worth of God. To worship is to show the worth of God. This gives her a beauty that never fades and all who see her will sing her praises! So, keep God first and be that praiseworthy woman. Proverbs 31:31; Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates of the city! After all of this work: trusting God, asking for his wisdom, and walking in his wisdom, you will be rewarded. The New Living Translation of this verse says, "Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise." The Contemporary English Version says, "Show her respect-praise her in public for what she has done." The woman of our text is successful and bears fruit because she works at being virtuous. You, too, will be publicly honored as you walk in virtue and continue to work at being virtuous. Take a bow and give God the praise. You deserve it. Remember, if everything hasn't manifested regarding your being a Proverbs 31 Woman, give it some time. The Lord is faithful! Be blessed!

Why Your Church Should Embrace Online According to Church Mag only 14% of Protestant churches in the United States are raising money online even though churches with online giving are earning more money. Is your church part of the 86% who haven't ventured into the realm of online giving? Are you an online giving skeptic? United Methodist Blogger Cesie Delve Scheuermann says: "It is a legitimate way of giving." Here are a few reasons why Cesie's right and why your church should consider passing the offering plate online: 1. One hundred percent of your members don't attend 100% of your services. The reality is that not all members are present when the plate is passed every Sunday. A possible solution: The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America recommends recurring, online donations to help cure seasonal slumps. Members who don't regularly attend services might find recurring giving options convenient. An online giving option and an email engagement strategy could also help you reconnect with members who don't regularly attend services. Reaching out to members who have lapsed in attendance and offering them another giving option could present the perfect opportunity to reengage with their church family. 2. Your congregants are already distributing funds (and doing so many other things) online. Your congregation is already primed for online giving because: 81% of American adults use the internet 66% of U.S. consumers pay bills online 65% of people donated to a nonprofit online in 2012 Think of all the things your church members can do online. They can order pet supplies, schedule doctors' appointments, register for an event, and send a birthday gift to friends. But can they make a gift to their church family? 3. Raise more money with an additional form of offering. Based on Network for Good's analysis of online giving in 2012, an organization's branded giving page earns, on average, $127 per donor.  Online giving makes it easy for church members to quickly contribute funds in a time of crisis. If your church is like Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene, when you offer online giving, you have more opportunities to engage the younger, techsavvy members and visitors (who expect the option to give online)

Ask yourself the question - How often do you and your husband or wife sit down and share quality time together? All marital relationships have a lull in them where there doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day for the two of you to connect, to share a laugh, good conversation, discuss the things you want to achieve together and how much you appreciate each other and being together. 3 ways to Create purpose in Your Marriage 1. Date Night 2. Create a Project Together 3. Personal Day for each other to enjoy all day Perks from one another When marriage becomes predictable then it is time to change up the routine and create purpose, and spark back into your marriage so, that it doesn’t become stale and stagnate. All relationships need a reboot to clear the lines and refresh your commitment to one another.

. Whether you like it or not technology, has become the ruling order on communication which has led to our society being addicted to negative communication whether verbal or physical. Even in the Church we have become narcissist in our behavior on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc., not realizing that regardless of how much of a tool these technology apps are that they have become an Addiction, instead of necessary Ministry Tool. Christians or Saints spend more time declaring and decreeing things on social media than they attend to their own lives, the Bible tells us to tend our own business yet we have more time to put selfies pictures of ourselves and asking a thousand questions or giving advice on marriage etc., only for us to find out that you are divorce. God didn’t allow social media to be created to where, we have to be on it twenty four seven the constant bombarding with negativity from news stations such as CNN, local news in your city or state in enough to make you sick. Yes we need social media but, in it’s proper context and that is keep things simple and realizing, that as human beings life is meant to have challenges but, everyone doesn’t have to know what challenges you are having all the time.

On social media everyone has a Prophetic word, yes it is frustrating to see and hear all the deception that people selling, the world no longer respects Christian, believers or Saints because we have turn our spiritual walk with God into a poster bill board for everyone to see, and this why people are saying that social media, breaks up homes and marriages because, we want everyone in America to know what is going on in our lives regard less, of what it is we feel the whole world should know. If we have people who are dedicate to making sure that there children have insurance, 401K or and IRA, instead of letting everyone know that you are pissed off, bad day, or going off about every little, thing that happens to you in your life then may be social media would be great ministry tool, sure we understand that we can’t control the billions of people who use social media but, it’s time that someone said that it is addiction for even Christians because we want to recognized instead being committed to living our lives knowing that God is the ultimate social media king. JUST SAYING!!!!!!

Rules and Guidelines - Do’s, Don’ts How to Get the Relationship You desire .

We all want the best for Our lives especially, when it comes to a relationship but, knowing how to proceed to the goal is a whole other story . In the Church we have never advocated dating which is beyond me why? Just because, you meet Him or Her and they are a Christian doesn’t mean they are relationship, ( Marriage), potential. Often times in 2014 Christian Singles are stuck simply because, they have unrealistic, expectations that lead to a dead end. Dating for Christian singles is important, why? To help establish a realistic view of what a potential relationship ( Marriage), can be with the right understanding. Here are the Don’ts in Dating 1. Don’t date Him or Her expecting them to be some super spiritual person. 2. Don’t come off as this super saved person that Him or Her can’t find you attractive 3. Don’t try to get your Pastor’s approval ( Yes we said that) 4. Don’t be standoffish / we are not saying take off to the races either. 5. Don’t turn the First date into a religious background check.

Dating for Christians should be as normal as any other normal human being why? The opportunity to connect with another human being and getting to know that individual as person, who they are Characteristics, qualities, etc., although Attraction, is the main ingredient taking the time to enquire about who the person is very important to proceeding further into getting to know that person ( Man or Woman). Do’s in Dating for Christian Singles 1. Be open when getting to know the person. 2. Know who You are and what Your expectations, are for a relationship 3. Take One opportunity at a time every date is not the one. 4. Keep your options open to new possibilities. 5. Build your future expecting the right connection

One the most challenging things to do as a Family is to create an atmosphere where decision, making is focused. Often times as parents time grabs us by the collar and before we know it Our children are approaching graduating from high school and going on to college but, it is important for Young Adults and parents to understand that one of the key and sound future is the atmosphere for focus decision making which requires, communicating and sharing ideas about the future whether college or financial strategies, for meeting the challenges of facing life as an adult. If the atmosphere is for decision making is not focused then the opportunity for Young adults facing new challenges as adults become disregard and what could possibly be a promising, future turns into unforeseen obstacles through poor decision making which leads to the family environment trying to recover due unfocused decision making but, when the decision making is focus things in life are less complicated and stressful which leads to a balance and pleasant family lifestyle.

Although we as parents want our children, too be successful, we must provide them with the tools to manage their lives as productive adults which means that an atmosphere for focused decision making helps to remove fear and uncertainty when comes to the various challenges of life. We all want our children to go to college get a degree and make us proud but, that doesn’t mean they have skills to manage day to day living challenges that come with being adult. So, we must help them to plan and advocate learning budgeting, investing, having insurance for your health etc., by making sure that your children, are aware of these things it gives them a complete picture and removes the uncertainty of life situations that they will encounter at some point in my life and they will be prepared to handle those challenges with focus and determination.
