At the start of 2018, I had a panic attack on my second day of TAFE. (Computer Science wasn’t the course for me.) I needed to tell someone and logged on to the forums and poured out how I was feeling. Within minutes I had responses from other users and staff, who gave me the courage to meet with student services and a careers counsellor, which eventually led to me studying Community Services. Through my studies, I’m able to see the impact that ReachOut has on the community, and how being an online service is unique and an asset compared to those services that are used in person. Being online, ReachOut can be accessed 24/7 as long as you have an internet connection. It isn’t restricted to where you live, and you can get help whenever you need it. You can also access ReachOut anonymously, so you don’t have to worry about running into people you know!
