She’s just had a rumoured 10th boob job, boosting her bust to a whopping GG cup, and pals say as Katie Price nears 40, she’s desperate to turn back time and bring back alter ego Jordan…

he burst onto the celebrity circuit in the mid-90s as a sexy glamour model, who’d gone through several boob jobs – and a slew of famous men. Back then Katie Price was known as Jordan – her outrageous alter ego, who loved to party, was unafraid to push the boundaries and always flashed the flesh in public. But in 2004, Katie met first husband Peter Andre, settled down into family life with their kids Junior and Princess – as well as her elder son Harvey, by footballer Dwight Yorke – and Jordan was retired, seemingly for good. A new, altogether more family-friendly Katie Price emerged and, as Jordan was put to bed, Katie went on to marry twice more and have two more children – Jett and Bunny, with Newly inflated current hubby Katie last week Kieran Hayler. But, 12 years on and Katie, 38, has just had a rumoured 10th

WANTS TO BE JORDAN AGAIN ‘I’m back to the old Katie Price again, on a mission to do my thing,’ she declared last week. And, as she approaches 40, pals say the mum-of-ﬁve is reverting to her old ways. ‘Katie is going back to Jordan and is desperate to recreate the fame she had in the past,’ says a source close to the star. ‘She craves adoration and the only way she knows how to get attention is by reverting to what worked back then. She says she wants to bring back Jordan’s “good old days”.’ Katie had her implants removed last year, following medical complications, and raved about her new, demure look. But Jordan is known for her enormous chest, so this time Katie turned the clock back and went XXL.

‘I was all healed and ready for the ﬁnal procedure – the surgeon said to me, “What size do you want? Same implants, a little bit bigger or bigger?” And me being impulsive, I just went, “Oh, go bigger then!”’ she admits. ‘The normal size they put in is a 275cc or a 375cc. Mine are 1,050cc. But my body is used to it – I have been bigger.’ Thought to have now boosted her bust 10 times, Katie is risking her health. Renowned cosmetic surgeon Alex Karidis says, ‘Breast augmentation should never be taken lightly. Realistically, a woman shouldn’t have them more than every 10 years, so that would make Katie 100 years old!’

DESPERATE TO TURN BACK THE CLOCK But, despite the surgeon’s concerns, friends say Katie is delighted with her bigger bust. ‘Katie’s new, big GG cups are her gift to herself,’ says the source. ‘She says they’ve boosted her confidence and made her feel young and sexy again.’ Those close to her claim Katie isn’t confident about her appearance and is always striving to look younger, having Botox and fillers, as well as numerous boob jobs. ‘She’s beautiful, but she doesn’t think so,’ says an insider. ‘She thinks she’s old, fat and ugly. UPSETS FAMILY AND HUSBAND But Katie’s obsession with cosmetic surgery is having a huge impact on her loved ones, including mum Amy and husband Kieran, 29. ‘Everyone has a go at me for it,’ Katie admitted last week, when talking about her latest boob job. ‘Kieran is not into boobs at all, and my mum’s always telling me off for everything. They’re like, “Leave yourself alone for ﬁve minutes.”’ And friends say, behind closed doors, the pair are concerned for Katie. ‘Her mum just wants her to stop now,’ continues the source. ‘She worries that all the operations are having an impact on her health and that she’s putting herself at risk. ‘Kieran just wants an easy life, so he says he’s happy if Katie’s happy – but if it was up to him, she’d stop with all the surgery.’ And perhaps their concern has had an impact, as Katie insists this is her last boob job, saying, ‘That’s it now, I don’t need any more surgery unless anyone thinks I can really improve something.’ Kelly Jenkins

espite enduring a marriage split and a frightening ordeal at the hands of a stalker, London singer Lily Allen was all smiles on holiday in Los Angeles. The mum-of-two, 31, looked amazing in a strapless red swimsuit, wearing a matching red bandana in her dark hair. Alex Gray, 31, the stalker who broke into Lily’s house after bombarding her with letters and comments on social media for eight years, was detained under the Mental Health Act in June. ‘The impact of Mr Gray upon me and my family has been massive,’ Lily said at the time. ‘I had already been incredibly disturbed and upset by the letters Mr Gray sent and his contact via social media, but the break-in at my home was absolutely terrifying.’ But Lily appears to have moved on. She laughs, ‘We haven’t brought it up, it’s not something we’ve sat there and spoken about, but the way it’s going… ‘He’s really happy and I’m am, too. I do feel like I’m falling for him. I think he shares the same feelings, but I don’t want to rush things. I’ve rushed relationships before and it’s f***ed everything up so I’ve learned from that. I do feel it’s deﬁnitely going in the right direction. ‘We genuinely love to hang out with each other. We have banter, we do what normal people do.’ And who cares what the rest of the TOWIE clan think – Megs also has the backing of his family, including his mum and his nan. Sweet! As for her feud with Lydia and Chloe? ‘Well, I think they made a mistake calling me common and trashy. Yes, I lose my rag, but I’m normal, and the majority of people watching TOWIE are, too. The viewers are not super-rich, so they’ve insulted everyone who isn’t posh. ‘I also found the way Lydia spoke to Arg absolutely disgusting, I think he’s better off without her, and I said that to him in Palma. Actually, I told him that months ago, when we made a personal appearance together in Magaluf. ‘She and Chloe have got chummy, but they’re deﬁnitely not my cup of tea. I had a great time at the Mark Hill Hair event last week. It was so good catching up with Charlotte Crosby and Sophie Kasaei, and I ﬁnally met Chloe Ferry. She's so funny – I love the Geordie Shore girls! I wore the Louboutin shoes that Pete gave me as a gift and I had so many compliments. He’s a good one, and he has the best taste! I also wore a cute LBD from my Miss Pap line and it sold out hours afterwards, but it will be restocked later this month. I did another shoot for Miss Pap and added more pieces to my line, so check it out.

BEACH LIFE I went on a double-date to Southend with Pete, Danni Armstrong and James ‘Lockie’ Lock, and we were lucky to get an hour of sun until it started raining and blew our brollies away! It brought back childhood memories: I used to go there with my nanny and granddad when I was younger, and I tried some ﬁsh off of the ﬁsh stall... but I won’t be trying it again!

s one of the world’s youngest supermodels, 21-year-old Gigi Hadid has graced the catwalks of several top designers and the covers of the world’s most prestigious fashion magazines. What we love most about her (apart from her boyfriend, Zayn Malik, of course) is that the Victoria’s Secret model has always been a strong advocate of a balanced diet and a healthy bod. Yet, after posing in a nude cropped top for a photoshoot in New York last week, one fan was quick to point out that Gigi was ‘shrinking’ – her toned stomach even appearing concave. It’s certainly a drastic makeover from last September, when Gigi was trolled for looking ‘too fat’ while walking the Tommy Hilﬁger SS16 show, despite being 5ft 10in and a size 6-8 at the time. The LA-based model says she loves cooking and admits indulging in gourmet burgers and previously revealed she was even told to shed a few pounds when she started working. ‘A lot of them [model agents] were like, “You have to lose a lot of weight.” I would cry at night and my mum would be like, “We’re going to ﬁnd the right people.” ‘When I started to do the highfashion stuff, people were like, “Oh, we can have a girl with thighs and a butt in a Tom Ford campaign... cool!”’ We hope you haven’t bowed to peer pressure, Gigi, you’re absolutely gorgeous!

he’s only been dating her fella, Luke Crodden, for eight months, but Scarlett Moffatt has fallen head over heels for the bearded hunk – so much so that she can see a wedding and babies in their future! Hooray! We bumped into the chatty Googlebox star last week at the launch party for the Mark Hill Pick N Mix range at London’s Icetank, and she couldn’t wait to tell us how it was going with lovely Luke. Full of beans as ever, the bubbly Geordie gushed to us about her boyfriend before giggling, ‘I’ll marry him and have babies – I want two!’ The couple’s relationship is ‘going really, really well’, and, while they currently live together in Newcastle, they’re looking for a lovers’ pad in London. But what will that mean for her future on the Gogglebox sofa? ‘Well, we’re having discussions now about Luke appearing on it as well – he’d be great, he’s so funny,’ she laughs. ‘But it will probably still be at my mam and dad’s house rather than at our place. I hope so – I go over at least once a week anyway for Mam’s dinner!’

Scarlett and Luke – who’s a hairtransplant specialist – met through mutual friends on a night out, and she admits the fella didn’t have a clue who she was. ‘That’s the nice bit, actually,’ she says. ‘I was just a friend of a friend, he’d never watched Gogglebox in his life. ‘Then we hit it off, and the rest is history. So hopefully you’ll see him on the next series of Gogglebox. He’s a bit kooky, which I like. I mean, he’s into aliens and stuff, and that just makes me laugh,’ she adds. Scarlett’s been on a health kick in recent weeks – doing HIIT (high-intensity interval training) sessions three times a week and sticking to a well-balanced diet – and her weight loss is obvious. But, while the 24-year-old is dedicated to her new healthy regime, that’s not to say she won’t treat herself now and again. While we were chatting, she let us in on a little secret, ‘I’ve got to go back to Newcastle tonight as I’m presenting my Capital Radio show in the morning – and I’m already planning exactly what I’m going to order from Burger King for my journey home!’ We like your style, Scarlett! s she tucked into her chocolate sandwich, Charlotte Bourton savoured her morning sugar rush. While a Nutella sarnie might seem like an unconventional breakfast choice, Charlotte, from Dorset, wouldn’t stop there. She’d follow it with a chocolate treat mid-morning and two more in the afternoon. The 24-year-old health and social care co-ordinator knew her snacking wasn’t exactly healthy, but her sweet tooth was uncontrollable. Each week, 5ft 4in Charlotte got through seven Nutella sandwiches and 20 chocolate bars to satisfy her sugar cravings – racking up 800 calories a day, and more than 5,600 a week in chocolate alone.

When she reached 16st 7lb, and a size 18, she was tagged in an unflattering photo online that shocked her into making a change… for good. ‘I’d spent the last few years covering up in the summer in giant kaftans while my friends wore tiny shorts,’ she says. ‘Then a horrendous photo was uploaded to Facebook. It gave me a shock. It was the wake-up call I needed to ditch the Nutella. I wanted to feel confident showing some skin in the summer.’ Charlotte’s struggle to battle her cravings first began when she was a teenager. ‘I loved Galaxy bars and chocolate spread,’ she says. ‘By the age of 14, my metabolism slowed down, but my appetite didn’t. All

those chocolate bars started catching up with me, and I began to gain weight. ‘It didn’t bother me too much because I was focused on my friends and schoolwork. ‘When I was 15 I got into a relationship, and we were together until my 20s. ‘I became settled and gave my eating habits even less thought. Sometimes I’d half-heartedly replace the chocolate with fruit to reduce my fat intake, but it wasn’t the same, so I’d always go back to the Nutella jar.’ Charlotte would start her day by eating a Nutella sandwich and a chocolate bar an hour later. For lunch she’d have another sandwich, crisps and a chocolate bar, before eating sausage and chips, followed by more confectionery after dinner. ‘I’d always lack energy,’ she recalls. ‘Looking back, it was clear I was having sugar crashes. ‘Then I’d eat chocolate for an energy boost and feel exhausted again an hour later. It was a vicious cycle. ‘And my conﬁdence was getting worse. I’d squeeze into maxi dresses for summer barbecues like my

friends, but I hated the way I looked. I was terriﬁed people would photograph me.’ In November 2013, her romantic relationship ended. ‘People say chocolate is the ultimate comfort food and they’re right,’ she says. ‘Whenever I felt down about the split, I’d take a bite and instantly feel better.’ Finally, her turning point came in December when she went on a night out with pals. ‘I was chuffed because that night I’d managed to squeeze into a size 16 gold dress that was really clingy around my arms and waist.’ However, Charlotte’s fantastic night out turned sour when, the following morning, she logged onto Facebook. ‘I clicked on a photo I’d been tagged in and my eyes went straight to my bingo wings and double chin. ‘It felt like I was seeing myself through other people’s eyes. The thought of it actually being seen by other people, too, made me cringe.’ The following month, Charlotte’s friends started making plans for the summer. She says, ‘We had winter blues, so we were chatting about going to some festivals. ‘I was desperate to join in and get excited about it, but I couldn’t imagine showing off my overweight body in strappy tops or swimwear. ‘After the incident with the

gold dress, I couldn’t bear the thought of more unflattering photos being posted online.’ So that month, determined to shed the pounds, Charlotte joined Slimming World and ditched her sugary breakfast. Instead of stuffing her face with chocolate throughout the day, she had porridge for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch and Slimming World spaghetti bolognese for dinner. And she replaced her snacks with healthier options, such as fruit and yoghurt. ‘I stuck to the plan, and for the first time I had loads of energy. Summer with my friends was the motivation I needed to stay on track.’ Four weeks later, she’d lost 12lb. And in May 2014, weighing 14st, she took up salsa dancing, swimming and horse-riding to help her keep off any extra weight. That summer, she treated herself to a brand new

wardrobe to celebrate. ‘I was 3st lighter and felt really good. Although I wasn’t 100 per cent happy with my figure, I felt good wearing shorts and dresses, and that was progress for me. ‘For once I didn’t hate my tagged photos,’ she adds. In January 2015, Charlotte hit 10st 5lb, having lost more than 6st, and booked a holiday. ‘By the time I flew to Amsterdam in September, I’d lost another 5lb, taking me down to 10st. ‘Walking along the canals and posing for photos, I felt great, and this time I actually wanted to be tagged in pics!’ In December, she hit her target weight of 9st 7lb, taking her total weight-loss to 6st 12lb. Charlotte says, ‘I finally feel confident and attractive. Summer used to be something I dreaded… now I can’t wait to flaunt my new figure!’ Amy Sharpe

he was once the party animal of Manchester, hitting the club scene in scantily-clad outﬁts numerous times a week, but since becoming a mum last year, Helen Flanagan is a changed woman. The former Coronation Street star, who gave birth to her daughter, Matilda – with footballer Scott Sinclair, 27 – in June 2015, confessed last week that having her baby has brought clarity to her life. ‘I was lost before I was a mum,’ the 25-year-old told the Loose Women panel. ‘She has made me so much happier. It changes your priorities, and you realise what’s important. I am completely besotted with her. It’s full on, but you don’t realise how much until you actually become a mother,’ she added. The brunette beauty also spoke about the online abuse she received for sharing a bed with her little girl. As Helen was breastfeeding, Matilda ended up sleeping in with her and Scott. ‘I would never want to promote sleeping with a newborn, as it’s dangerous. I felt guilty when I read about it. It’s only when they are old or strong enough,’ she said, adding they don’t do it any more. ‘He [Scott] didn’t like her in bed with us, because he found her wriggly. She is in her cot now, though.’ On the subject of more children, Helen said she may try next year. ‘We talked about trying for another baby last Christmas – and then we said when she’s [Matilda] two, and now we’re saying when she’s three, so who knows?’ But the actress admits that although her partying is in the past, motherhood hasn’t curbed her social life totally. ‘I still get a night out once a month,’ she revealed, explaining that her mum and Scott’s are very supportive when it comes to babysitting duties. hen Alton Towers’ Smiler roller-coaster crashed in June last year, the world could only look on in shock. Vicky Balch, then 19, was on the ride at the time of the horrifying collision, and her leg was crushed between two carriages. After being trapped for four hours, Vicky, from Lancashire, was rushed to hospital where doctors had no choice but to amputate her right leg. In the year since, Vicky has stunned doctors with her unstoppable determination and recovery. Experts had warned it could take years for her to lead a normal life, but she’s proved them all wrong. Now rocking her state-of-the-art prosthetic leg from the knee down, Vicky is even walking again. Despite feeling physically stronger than ever, Vicky felt an immeasurable knock to her self-esteem after losing her limb.

‘I’d always been comfortable with myself and my body, but the accident left me worrying I’d never walk again,’ she says. ‘I lost confidence in the way I looked. ‘The medication I was on gave me a huge appetite which meant I put on weight. And, at other times, I slimmed down because I felt so awful I couldn’t eat. ‘My changing figure left me with stretch marks. At first, I hated them. It’s taken me all this time to learn to love them – they’re part of me.’ So when a friend bought her a VIP photo experience as a birthday present, Vicky was unsure about being in front of the camera. ‘I was worried I’d feel selfconscious or silly, but I had to push myself,’ she says. Wanting to use the opportunity to feel sexy again, Vicky and her mum went shopping for lingerie. ‘After the accident, I hadn’t bothered to wear nice underwear as

I didn’t feel comfortable in it,’ she says. ‘But as soon as I tried it on, I started to get my confidence back.’ On the day of the shoot, Vicky made herself comfortable in the dressing room with an afternoon tea, before having her hair and make-up done professionally. ‘At the start, I was self-conscious and the photographer took some shots of me wearing my leg. ‘Eventually, I decided to take it off because I wanted to be comfy and be myself. I actually felt more confident without it. Then I really started to enjoy myself, I hadn’t felt that great in such a long time.’ Two weeks later, Vicky and her mum went to view the photos. ‘I was nervous to see myself in lingerie,’ she says. ‘But as soon as I saw the first picture, I was so happy, I burst into tears. I thought losing my leg meant I’d never feel attractive again. The confidence I’d lost in the moment of the crash came flooding back.’ Originally, Vicky planned to keep the pictures for herself. However, close friends and family urged her to use them to inspire others. ‘By sharing them, I hope people realise it doesn’t matter what you look like or what you’ve been through, you can achieve anything. ‘To any young women struggling to find their confidence, I’d say it’s completely normal not to like something about your body. But everyone is beautiful, and you should focus on what you do love.’ Unsurprisingly, Vicky has become a role model for both disabled and able-bodied women alike. ‘I love that I can help others,’ she says. ‘The support I’ve received has been incredible. I’ve had messages from people saying I’ve given them hope at their lowest points when they felt unlovable. ‘Getting just one message makes what I’ve been through worthwhile.’ Unfortunately, Vicky has had to deal with negative comments from online trolls, too. ‘I expected my photoshoot to result in some nasty comments,’ she says. ‘But I ignore them.’ She may be in agony most days, but you wouldn’t know it from her inspirational and positive attitude. ‘My knee is always causing me pain, and if I’m walking all day, my prosthetic limb nips and hurts me. But it’s just the way it is. ‘For now, I’m just taking life as it comes. Before, I was at university and working in a bar. I’ve now accepted I won’t be able to go back to that life, but I’m going to make the most of what I have.’ Paisley Gilmour

MUMMY’S MOVING IN Ayda has since revealed that Robbie’s busy schedule meant that she didn’t have an engagement party, and she was forced to plan her wedding in less than two months! ‘We got engaged at Christmas, and I think Rob thought that engagement was the final frontier,’ she joked. ‘It came as a surprise to him that there was a wedding to follow! ‘It was my birthday, and we’d gone on a boat ride to Catalina [one of California’s Channel Islands] and he wrote in my card, “Set a date, shipmate.” But he goes, “We’ve got to do it in six weeks as I’ve got work.”’ Thankfully, Ayda says the quick turn around didn’t ruin their big day. ‘My dogs were my bridesmaids!’ she exclaimed. ‘We did it at the house. RACHEL WEEDHAM, 35, GAVE BIRTH IN NEW JERSEY, USA ‘At 35 weeks pregnant, I was at a hospital in New Jersey, USA, trying to make sense of the complex document in front of me, that I was signing. It was scary to think I was agreeing to a stipulation in my insurance policy that meant, if my doctor was unavailable when I went into labour, I’d be responsible for the full cost of treatment. That’s one of many complicated policies there are in the States. My husband, Leonard, 35, and I moved to the US from Britain ﬁve years ago for work, so our daughter, Caitlin, now six, was born in the UK. After moving, we struggled to ﬁgure out the complex insurance policies, and were confused by the paperwork. We now pay £74 a month for our healthcare insurance, and Leonard’s employer pays an additional £854. After Caitlin’s birth, I’d been diagnosed with stage-four endometriosis and an ovarian

cyst, so that meant getting pregnant again was going to require IVF – and we’d have to pay for it ourselves. In October 2013, we began treatment. Fortunately, I fell pregnant after just one round, costing £18,485. From then on, everything was covered by insurance, and we were only sent a bill if there was a portion for us to pay. They charge for everything in the US, from the use of the recovery room after birth – £767 in my case – to £2.30 for some medications. When my beautiful son, Jacob, was born in October 2014, I needed an emergency caesarean, which pushed the cost up. The ﬁnal bill from the hospital came to £12,761. Of that, we owed £385. In September 2015, I fell pregnant again naturally, and in June this year my other son, William, was born by

caesarean. Our insurance will cover the majority, so we’ll probably have a fee of £380. As paying customers, we have a choice and expectation for a level of service, but it feels less about the patient and more about money. If you can’t afford it, you simply don’t get treated.’

‘As I relaxed in the sitting room with my midwife, Fabienne, the homebirthing pool ﬁlled with water inside my home. An hour later, Dylan, now 18 months old, arrived. It was the peaceful, happy birth that I’d so wanted with my ﬁrst two children. My husband, Ion, 40, is French and after meeting 12 years ago – after I moved to Toulouse for work – we had Mylo, seven, and Naïa, six, both born in French hospitals. Healthcare is amazing in France as long as you’re mainstream, working full-time and have a ‘mutuelle’, which is a private healthcare scheme. If that’s all in place, you pay nothing at any point. We contribute a large percentage

You also see your obstetrician and midwife every month. From six months onwards, all healthcare is free until two weeks post-partum, regardless of whether you have a mutuelle or not. If you have your baby in hospital, it’s 100 per cent covered by social security, including the cost of an epidural, should you need one. Postnatal care is very good, too – it includes pelvic floor and abdominal rehab sessions. It’s not

exactly a perfect system. It’s illegal to keep your placenta as it belongs to the hospital. And by the time I was pregnant with Dylan, I wanted my placenta and I wanted a homebirth. Frustratingly, homebirths are outlawed in my region. It’s impossible for the midwives to get insurance, so they charge a hefty fee. I had to pay £1,147 for Fabienne to be by my side. The healthcare system has been in deﬁcit for years, but it’s a good system for those in employment and paying social security. I think the French system compares favourably to many others globally. I don’t know how long it’ll last, though.’

GEORGINA FULLER, 38, GAVE BIRTH IN LONDON, UK ‘I’ve got three children, who are now seven, four and two, and they were all delivered via caesarean, thanks to the NHS. My first was an emergency caesarean after a difficult 48hour labour, and the second and third were elective. A caesarean costs around £8-10,000 in terms of medical costs, so that means I owe the NHS at least £30,000. I saw a lot of midwives throughout each pregnancy, but I was lucky enough to live just over the road from the one at our local surgery for my first baby in London. She was lovely and came over twice a day to check my blood pressure in my third trimester. Most of the midwives I came across were wonderful, providing tea and toast, and offering to take the baby away for an hour so I could rest, but some of them were abrupt and uncaring. I asked one if she could ‘please open the blinds for me’ a few hours after I’d come out of surgery, and she told me to

get up and do it myself. It made me cry, as all over I felt very battered and bruised. Some of the systems could do with updating. It’d be much better to have electronic ﬁles, rather than paper ﬁles, which need to be carried around by expectant mums for each prenatal appointment they have. I still think the NHS is a wonderful and invaluable resource that we’re incredibly lucky to have. I really couldn’t put a price on the gratitude I feel to the NHS for delivering three perfect, healthy babies for me. I’m a big advocate for it.’

LIME POUND CAKE (WITH GINGER)

f you want to impress your friends or family with a homemade cake you can’t beat, try this simple pound cake with a modern twist. It not only looks fantastic, it tastes delicious, too.

INGREDIENTS SERVES 8 PREPARATION TIME: 30 MINS + 2 HRS FOR DRYING AND COOLING BAKING TIME: 70-80 MINS

FOR THE CAKE 200g unsalted butter, at room temperature plus extra to grease the tin 260g plain flour, plus extra for the tin 3 limes, plus fine strips of lime zest for optional decoration 60g fresh root ginger 150g caster sugar 100g light brown sugar Pinch of salt 4 eggs 2tsp baking powder

FOR THE ICING 1 lime 250g icing sugar EQUIPMENT Loaf tin, 25cm in length

METHOD Preheat the oven to 170°C/gas 3½. Butter the loaf tin and dust it with flour, shaking out any excess. Wash and rub dry the limes. Finely grate the zest. Squeeze the juice and set aside. Peel and finely chop or grate the ginger. Cream the butter in a high-sided bowl with both types of sugar, the salt, lime zest, and ginger, using an electric hand whisk set to a medium speed, until the mixture is light and fluffy. Stir in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine the flour and baking powder and fold this in. Spoon into the loaf tin and smooth out. Bake on the middle shelf of the hot oven for 70-80 mins. If it is browning too much, cover with foil after 35-45 mins. Remove from the oven and let it cool a little in the tin. Bring the reserved lime juice to the boil in a saucepan and pour evenly over the still-warm cake. Let the cake cool completely in the loaf tin. Squeeze the lime for the icing and mix with the sugar and 3-4tbsp water to make a smooth, thick topping. Being careful not to add too much, cover the cake with the icing and scatter with the strips of lime zest (if using). Leave the icing to dry and set for 1-2 hrs.

I was given a box for my baby to sleep in. Why is this? In Finland, new mothers are issued with baby boxes that ﬁt snugly around the baby and make it hard for them to roll onto the tummy. This has led to a big reduction in cot deaths in Finland, so some hospitals in the UK are trying it, too. The box should come with a mattress, a protector and a sheet.

My fella is 52, has sky-high blood pressure and is on tablets. What lifestyle advice does he need? Ruth, Portsmouth Don’t panic! Stress makes it worse. Blood pressure tablets usually work well, but even more important is not to smoke. He should try to have two days off the booze a week, and do some physical activity every day – even if it’s just walking and taking the stairs whenever he can. A diet with lots of fruit, veg, whole grains, nuts, seeds, olive oil and ﬁsh is best. You can have dark chocolate, red wine or beer, sipped slowly, for a treat. Variety is the spice of life but moderation in all things.

Cancer treatment has become very successful, but the chemotherapy drugs are so powerful that they can damage the ovaries and reduce your chances of having a baby. However, your doctor should offer you the chance of having your eggs removed and frozen for use at a later date. They are even doing this with girls as young as two with cancer now, so they will be able to have a family when they are old enough.

o L ve it! Gold medal-winning Olympic swimmer and mum-of-one, Rebecca Adlington, 27, shares her love of cake and admits she’s just a big kid at heart

CELEBRITY CRUSH? Chris Hemsworth, he’s absolutely beautiful!

HOLIDAY DESTINATION? I love Disney World, Florida. I’m such a big kid, but it’s amazing! I’ve been six or seven times – I do all the theme parks and water parks, everything like that. I haven’t taken Summer yet, but we’ll go when she’s about three or four years old.

EXERCISE? It would be swimming. It’s just the thing I’ve done the most of. Even now when I go it’s just like my 30 minutes when I get to put my phone in the locker, ignore the world and have my own little space.

POSSESSION?

FAVOURITE… FOOD?

Ooh, probably my Olympic medals. My two golds from Beijing, and two bronzes from the 2012 London Olympics.

I love my mum’s Sunday roast. It’s the best! And it’s just really nice to have a chance to sit around the table with the family.

TV SHOW? Friends. I know it’s old and it’s not on any more, but it’s just so great. It’s still my go-to show, I can watch it all day long. I must have seen every episode like 100 times by now!

GUILTY PLEASURE? MUMMY MOMENT? I love bath time! Summer [Rebecca’s daughter, who turned one in June] gets so happy when she’s in the water. As she’s so little, there’s not much we can do together, but I love taking her swimming as well.

CAREER HIGH? The Beijing Olympics in 2008. I won two gold medals, set a new world record [for the 800m freestyle event], and I had my mum and dad there. That was pretty memorable!

BEAUTY ITEM? Mascara. Because I’m so pale, I have to put some on, otherwise you can’t see my eyes. I love Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes and BeneFit’s They’re Real Lengthening Mascara.

I couldn’t live without cake – I love it. And I’m not fussy, either! I can do a caramel sponge, chocolate or a banana loaf, which I make myself, and I do enjoy a good red velvet cupcake.
