Chapter 1 Religion

Vatican City is the world capitol of the Roman Catholic Church. You maY be wondering, “how manY people are roman catholic?� well, the answer is there are over 1 billion Roman Catholics. Every town or village in Italy has its own catholic church, however, fewer than 20% of Italians go to church regularly.


Before converting to Christianity, Romans worshipped gods and goddesses. Lutheranism became a problem in the mid to late 1500’s. the Rebirth of Italy is said to have occurred in the mid 1800’s. divorce is not accepted under catholism. First Communicants dress like brides and bridegrooms.


Chapter 2 Tourism

The Alps contain the highest peak entirely in Italy (13,323 ft.). Corno Grande is a peak that rises 9,560 feet, and is the highest point in the Apennines. You could also visit the Arch of Septimius Severus, which is one of the 2 remaining triumphal arches on the Forum Romanum, it was built in 203 A.D.


You could visit the Pantheon, which was built more than 1,800 years ago. You could visit The Collosseum of Rome, which was completed in 80 A.D. You could also visit the Vatica Museum, which was found under the Patronage of two 18th century popes.


Chapter 3 Food

Breakfast in Italy is always a light meal. Italians have 4 courses to their mid-day meal. Pasta is the Italians staple food. The best know dessert in Italy is Gelato (creamy ice cream). Italians take great pride in the quality of their food, so never say the food is bad.


Soup is rare in 1st course at lunch. Going out for pizza for dinner is very common in Italy. Italians have coffee after their meal. Did you know the Italians invented pizza?


Chapter 4 Facts

Ancient Rome was at first a small agricultural community founded by Circa in the 8th century. During the 1000’s, the cities of italY were ruled bY what was later known as The Holy Roman Empire. Romans ruled half the known world at the time.


In the late 19th century through WWI and WWII, Italy possessed a colonial empire. Today Rome is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Italy is the 18th most developed country
