In China, people celebrate a holiday called Chinese New Year. It usually takes place every year between January 21 and February 20. During Chinese New Year, people write poems on long strips of paper and then hang them outside doorways for good luck. Before the day of any festival, especially Chinese New Year, all debts should be paid, and all arguments should be solved. Animals in China By Samantha Olson China is home to many unique animals, 100 different species of them! Many of these animals you have probably never heard of, some of them are also very rare. A lot of popular animals live in China too. Also, there are multiple animals that live in Chinese zoos and nature reserves. There is a lot of information, so let’s get started! https://www.google.com/sear ch?hl=en&q=raccoon+dog& bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r _qf.,cf.osb&biw=784&bih=7 67&pdl=300&wrapid=tljp13 33064783053010&um=1&ie =UTF8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa =N&tab=wi&ei=ZvR0T_wE4Pg2QWR27WfDQ#um =1&hl=en&tbm=isch&sa=1 &q=chinese+animals&oq=c hinese+ani&aq=0&aqi=g10 &aql=&gs_l=img.3.0.0l10.2 7588l32391l0l33831l11l11l0 l1l1l1l294l1571l0j9j1l10l0.fr gbld.&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_p w.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=b95b 8bb3a8ed3e1f&biw=784&bi h=767

I bet you’ve never heard of the raccoon dog, the white-lipped dear, the takin, the mandarin duck, the golden pheasant, the red-crowned crane, or the white-flag dolphin. Well, the white-flag dolphin is one of only two fresh water whales. It was first caught in the Yangtze River. Did you know that the redcrowned crane was named after the patch of red, exposed skin on top of its head? The patch is a symbol of longevity to the Chinese. The raccoon dog looks like a super fluffy raccoon, that’s where it gets its name. These are just some of the many animals that most people haven’t heard of in China. http://www.factzoo.com/sit
es/all/img/mammals/raccoo n-dog.jpg
There are also many popular, yet rare, animals in China. One of these animals is the giant panda. Giant pandas live in the mountains of Sichuan, Gansu, and the Shaanxi provinces. The red bear cat, another popular animal is also called the red panda. Also there are many zoos in China that keep these animals and others.

Did you know that China is home to 6,266 species of vertebrates? (That’s 10% of the world’s total!) Or that China has successfully bred over 60 species of endangered animals, including the rare Chinese alligator? Chinese alligators are very hard to reproduce in zoos; a Chinese alligator first laid its eggs in a zoo in 1980! Plus, the Shanghai Zoological Park started to breed giant pandas in 1957. And these are just a few of the facts.

There are many great animals in China. From the rare animals you may never had heard of…… To the popular creatures that most people know about…. Plus those that inhabit Chinese zoos. I can’t believe that there are so many animals that live in China!
