Welcome to the Japanese tour, home of 127.3 million people and also home of the Rainbow Bridge, and the famous Mt. Fuji.
Cities Japan has over 52 cities. Tokyo is about 1/9 of Japans population. In Yokohama there is a very large zoo! The Kanto earthquake in 1923 destroyed millions of dollars in damage including Tokyo.
Food and Farming There’s a lot to know about food and farming in Japan. Japan is one of the largest industries for fishing. The Japanese people eat fish and rice at almost every meal.
Transportation Transportation is a major part in Japan. The main style of transportation is taxi, bus, ferries, ships, air travel, and railroads. They also use motor bikes. Some of the time, when it’s warm outside.
Food and farming The Japanese people only have about 15 percent of their land to farm on. They fill 70 percent of their food needs on fewer than 14 million cultivated acres. The fall is the best time to grow eggplants in Japan. Japanese people have about 0.1 acre of farmland for each person.
Sports In Japan golf is considered a luxury sport because golf course stake up so much land. The most popular golf course is Itakkaido. Japan’s favorite team sport is baseball. Over Ÿ of the kids in Japan are involved with sports.
Cities Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya are considered the 3 largest cities in Japan {by population}. Over ½ of Japans population live in those 3 cities. That’s about 63.2 million people in 3 cities.
Food and farming About 9000 years ago (7000 B.C.) the Japanese ate a lot of food. Some of it was buckwheat, seafood, nuts, animal meat, leaf buds, and plants. About 6600 years later (400 B.C.) the Japanese started to eat rice.
Transportation The kinds of cars they use the most are Nissan and Toyota. They also use motorbikes and regular bikes too. It seems like Toyota is the car they use the most because that’s were Toyota came from.
Cities In Kyoto there are over 2,000 Buddhist temples. Kitakyush is the smallest population in the top 13 cities in Japan. {By population} Most of the cities in Japan have grown larger since World War II.
Transportation They use Air travel to get to other places. Japan has all kinds of railways. They have a bus called the highway bus. To get across the rivers they use ships and ferries.
Cities Veno Park opened in 1873 having 137 years of service. Yokohama has a large zoo with lots of animals. Japan has an ethnicity of 98.5% Japanese.
Sports There are many sport traditions in Japan with one of them being archery also known as Kyudo. In the Meji restoration many western sports were introduced to Japan. Most kids who participate in martial arts began at the age of four or five.
Transportation Most of the people traveled on foot until the 19th century. Japan has 1,152,207 km of highways. They are also known for their high speed trains. Japan has transportation links.
Sports Snowboarding and skiing are very popular sports in Japan. About 45% of the people go at least once a year. Many people go and watch Formula 1 racing in Japan. Rugby became a popular sport in 1970.
Food and Farming Rice is Japan’s most wildly grown crop, and is eaten at almost every meal. Other crops include tomatoes, eggplants, carrots, sweet potatoes, onions, watermelon, and strawberries. Green tea is Japan’s national beverage.
