The Amazon region in Brazil is home of many unusual and colorful animals. The parrot like aurora flies among the tall trees of the Amazon River. The most popular animal in Brazil are the to co toucan. Also a white- lined bat is another popular animal. The female white-lined bat may become pregnant while she is still lactating or nursing babies. Their is 1300 different bird species.

The capybara, the world’s largest rodent, weighs as much as 100 pounds (45.5 kilograms). Giant armadillos can’t curl up enough to totally protect themselves like other armadillos. Giant armadillos live from 12 to 15 years. The three banded armadillo is considered an
endangered species. Beneath the jungle canopy live colorful birds such as parrots and toucans as well as giant rodents, a foot-wide butterflies, and orcas, or spotted Jaguars.

The three banded armadillo is considered an endangered species. Jaguars are endangered species. On many rivers in the Amazon Basin you should catch glimpse of the pink dolphins. Members of the dog family are the crab-eating fox. Two animals rarely seen in the Amazon Basin are the spotted jaguar, and spotted leopard.
