KYLIE JENNER THE BEAUTY BIL LIONAIRESS

When “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” debuted in 2007, most of the Kardashian-Jenner girls were unknown. Kylie Jenner was only 10 years old - a precocious little kid enjoying time with her family. Now, Jenner has a daughter of her own and her own beauty empire.

It all began during Season 10 of the show, when Kylie began focusing on her first solo venture, a line of hair extensions, which was her first foray into beauty.

The following season, the 17-year-old became the focus of the season as the media noticed that she had some work done and her lips became the hot topic.

This ushered in the beginnings of her very own beauty empire, thanks to her creation of Kylie Lip Kits - pairs of matte liquid lipstick and lip liner in nude, pink, and brown that retail for $29 - sold out within minutes after going on sale at KylieCosmetics.com.

Kylie has opened up in the past about the anxiety she experiences from being so famous, especially after the launch of her Lip Kits proved so successful.

Her Lip Kits soon became Kylie Cosmetics and her skyrocketing fame has earned her 200.9m followers on Instagram. Named the youngest-ever self-made billionaire by Forbes magazine, Kylie sold 51% of her company to publicly traded Coty, Inc. for $600 million.

Now; Kylie Skin. She says on her website “Skincare and makeup go hand in hand and Kylie Skin was something I dreamt up soon after Kylie Cosmetics. I’ve been working on this for what feels like a lifetime so I can’t believe it’s finally here!”

Her new skincare range is all cruelty free, vegan, gluten free, paraben and sulfate free and suitable for all skin types.

“Birthing a whole new team, manufacturing, fulfillment etc. separate from my cosmetics line was challenging but here we are!” She says.

This mumpreneur sure knows her cosmetics. In a make-up tutorial to end

all make-up tutorials, with Vogue US that details her summer make-up look, Kylie shares her go-to tips.

Eyes first, base second

Jenner applies her eye make-up before anything else. The fall out from an eyeshadow can ruin your base if you do foundation first. “The eyeshadow falls down and then your face isn’t cute anymore,” Jenner says, while wiping off the excess and moving on.

Baking is everything

“I can’t do my make-up without baking,” she says. Applying a lighter powder to her jawline in order to set and lighten the bottom half of her face.

“For anyone who doesn’t know what it is, baking actually… it’s like powder is soaking into your skin and leaving a residue of colour.” Wiping it off as one of her last steps, adding, “I’m actually trying to make this lighter here so I have more of a… it just shapes my face.”

Two shades of mascara

Jenner reveals she prefers brown on the bottom lashes, feeling that black is “too much”.

“I used brown on the bottom because I don’t like too much mascara on the bottom. So this just gives me more of a subtle look.”

Kylie recommends if you ever get mascara on your eyeshadow or anything let it dry completely because it just flakes off.

Oil up

In a July 2019 interview, Jenner revealed that she uses essential oils to keep her skin looking its best. Even though Jenner is worth

over a billion dollars, most of the oils she gets won’t break the average person’s bank account.

It seems like Jenner uses these oils on a daily basis, as part of her normal shower routine. She applies it liberally “after [she turns her] water off and [she’s] drenched.”

Jenner isn’t too picky about the type of oil. They have to be organic, but she changes it up between “almond oil, or olive oil, or jojoba oil.” Anyone can buy these off of Amazon, so fans can replicate Jenner’s routine pretty easily.

Glow up

Kylie goes on top of her moisturized skin with her foundation. “I recommend going in front of your window, see what the daylight is like, and just make sure that it’s all good in the hood.” And then bronze and highlight to give your skin that glow and shape. Kylie is Queen of highlighting. “I use it on the edge of my nose— the more you do, the thinner your nose will look.”

Wig out

Kylie is in love with Jen Atkin’s Ouai Treatment Mask. “I just leave it in for 15 minutes before I shower. It’s a really great way to make your hair healthy again, and really nourish it.”

Known for her everchanging style and colour, Kylie often keeps her hair short and healthy, creating whatever look she wants with wigs.

“I’m a wig girl, I love wigs, and they’re super easy,” she says.
