Where old wood gets a second chance. RECLAIMED. REPURPOSED. RELOVED.

Honoring Our American History THE STORY OF OLD WOOD.

There’s nothing like stepping inside an old barn. As you gaze at the massive antique beams overhead you are humbled by the beauty of the material and the ingenuity of those that came before. We have found an important place in the lives of these barns. We understand the importance of preserving the past while embracing change. This is why we believe so

wholeheartedly in what we are doing. We remember that we are more than just fabricators or designers or woodworkers — we play an important role in the story. The story of this old wood is the story of all of us. It represents our connection with our earth, with our history, with our future. The beams and planks that we rescue are more than just wood, they are a portrait of

the relationship between nature and mankind, of a future that is yet to be written. We know that our role in this story is clear. We are here to reclaim this precious material, to give it new purpose and new life and in doing so we continue that story. But it doesn’t end with us. Once we pass it on to you — whether in the form of a farm table or a bundle of boards — the story is then in your hands.

Antique Beams & More

GET TO KNOW THE CHARACTER OF OLD WOOD. Our hand hewn wood predates the Industrial Revolution. These historic pieces were made when logs were converted from their natural round form to a flatter surface piece of lumber with the use of axes. Hand hewn wooden beams will fill your home with a remarkable sense of history and a fascinating charm.

Our rough sawn wood is also beloved by our customers for it’s visible saw marks. Rough sawn wood has less texture than hand hewn wood and is a beautiful choice for a slightly refined rustic look. Live edge slabs are everywhere these days and we couldn’t be happier. Our live edge slabs are truly urban timbers

meaning they are sourced from storm damaged trees and trees that must be taken down for various reasons. These timbers are rescued and turned into flat slabs with live edges. We love creating unique pieces with these beautiful slabs. From desktops and tabletops to benches and shelving — the live edge slab possibilities are endless.

Fireplace Mantels RUSTIC. COZY. BEAUTIFUL.

Antique wood beams salvaged from barns and factories make for beautifully rustic fireplace mantels. The rough sawn and hand hewn techniques used to build these beams a century and a half ago adds

character that cannot be found in new timbers. Originally, these wood beams served as structural supports in barns and factories. These timbers are massive, so as we manufacture them into fireplace mantels our

fabricators can hollow out the beams to make them easier to move and install without sacrificing the beauty of the antique wood.

Barn Dismantling

GIVING OLD WOOD A SECOND CHANCE. You’ll hear us telling plenty of stories about our barn storming trips to Ohio and Pennsylvania as well as throughout New York and New Jersey. We’ve traveled throughout the Eastern Seaboard, as far west as Indiana and as south as Tennessee and we’ve been fortunate enough to meet many families living on farms passed down from generation to generation. When their barns are no longer up to date with modern farming practices or fail to prove structurally sound, they call us. Our crew travels from our New Jersey mill for nearly a week at a time to

meticulously dismantle these century and a half old structures. When Gary and the crew arrive at the site, it’s not just a chance to gather materials, but also an opportunity to learn about the barn, family, and community surrounding the barn. Oftentimes we receive old family photos, antiques from inside the barn, and a brief history lesson that we’re excited to share with the future owners of the wood. From civil war stories to clashes with original settlers on the farm land, we’ve amassed an eclectic

history of these barns, many of which have been around since our country’s origin. We take structural beams, planks, tin roofing, door hardware, farm equipment, barn doors, and other oddities we come across to be salvaged. Trucks are loaded up and sent directly back to our mill to be processed and stored. The material is de-nailed, cleaned, kiln dried, and milled to give the antique wood a second lease on life.
