West Coast Indie Rock Band, The Heirs, are back with a new album and are looking better than ever. Their newly released track from their upcoming EP “Suburban Wonderland” is climbing the tracks, and we were lucky to catch them before they hit the road for their tour. TPM: When your first EP ‘Ecliptic’ was released back in 2015, at the ages of 16 and 18, could you foresee the path that you’ve taken the past two years? How have you changed as musicians? Brandon: The Ecliptic EP is something that we consider separate from what we are doing now. At the time, we were writing and working with a lot of people, essentially developing our own project in every session and quickly figuring out the things that we liked and the things that we wanted to create for ourselves. It was all early work, and now we feel like we really understand exactly what direction we are headed in. TPM: You have a new EP on the way. Can you give us some much-awaited details? Brandon: It’s something that we are happy to put into the world. We are comfortable with our sonic territories now, more than ever, and we hope that you like it and think that it’s cool. TPM: Your music video for ‘Suburban Wonderland’ is an artist’s ode to L.A., and the party lifestyle. Originally from Florida, how do you see L.A. and the West Coast in general in comparison? Brandon: LA is a place filled with everything. You can never really be bored unless you want to be. We found a lot of inspiration in this city; every corner holds a fascinating character or a scene you’d see in a film. We wanted to capture that and present it how it is. There’s a lot of love around when you’re looking in the right places. TPM:What role do you play in the direction of music videos, artwork, and your general aesthetic as a band? Savannah: As artists, we work as a “do it yourself” group. All the visuals, content, music, even posters are entirely designed by us. Brandon and Alex work on the live production, alongside our friend producers. Brennan and I work on the visual aspect of everything. I created the single cover for ‘Suburban Wonderland’ with my phone and designed the website, Tumblr and visual content promos. Brennan is an incredible artist and designed all of our merchandise. We love to be hands-on and create things that we would want to show our friends. TPM: Which track do you find the most enjoyable to perform live? Trend Privé Magazine 54

Savannah: They are all filled with so much energy, I enjoy playing all of them. We have a new track called ‘Blushing,” which is going on our EP, that is pretty fun to perform live – lots of energy and electronics alongside lush harmonies. TPM: Who influences you artistically? Whether another musician, such as yourselves, or an obscure 15th-century poet, what subconsciously helps your creative juices? Brandon: Honestly, the majority of our work sparks from visual inspiration. We watch a lot of films and enjoy looking at photographs of aesthetics, people, and emotions. There are always stories within visuals that we can interpret in our way, and that’s a huge deal to us, regarding creativity. We also enjoy reading and consuming as much music as possible. There is so much constantly being produced; it’s an interesting thing to keep up and listen. TPM: Where has been the most bizarre place you’ve heard one of your songs played thus far? Savannah: There have been a lot of interesting places that have played the song, which is so cool to us. This is going to sound weird, but I was at an intimate shop (for a friend’s bachelorette party), and it came on. I was completely stunned haha – I couldn’t believe it! I immediately went up to the guy working there and asked him what it was playing on. He said it was a Pandora station or something under the “sexy music” category. My day was instantly made, haha. TPM:At Trend Prive we’re devotees of charitable causes. Do you have any causes dear to your heart? Brandon: Operation Gratitude and The Boys and Girls Club are two charitable causes very close to our hearts. We’ve worked alongside these groups for years, always doing whatever we can to help out. TPM: For current and soon-to-be fans, what’s upcoming for the Heirs? Brandon: We hope to create something that you enjoy. Something that can live with you and exist amongst your everyday lives. We are always inspired by new people and new experiences, and with that constant momentum approaching every day, you can expect a lot more from us very soon.
