DEBORAH R. SLATER
I
am delighted with the launching of the first issue of Real Concepts Magazine. It feels like giving birth to a baby, with all the pain from labor, but once that baby is delivered we forget all the suffering. First of all, I want to thank the Giver of Life who is our God, my children and grandchildren who inspired the need to create an instrument that will spread love, hope and faith through the pages of this magazine. Likewise, thanks to my extended family: my powerful circle of close friends who have selflessly given their valuable time to contribute with the magazine. I declare blessings to them and their sow will be returned a hundredfold. Why Real Concepts? Because we want to nurture these basic components of human knowledge, projecting them towards a prosperous destination that has been promised to us by God. All those real concepts are the values that were written thousands of years ago in the Bible and that have directed our society for thousands of years.
I invite you to join us on this wonderful journey throughout the pages of this magazine.

“If we take a fish out of water, it can only live a very short time. If we remove a tree from its roots and put it on a sidewalk, maybe it will live a week until their roots dry out and die for lack of water. These happens because we took them from its source of energy and life. Now, if man moves away from his source of energy and life, what do you believe will happen? Maybe he will be fine for a while, but eventually he will deteriorate, first spiritually then physically. God, our Creator, is our source of energy and life, not a religion that blames, judges or represses but with the freedom of joy that He gives us every day, thanks to a close and intimate relationship that grows stronger day by day by seeking His presence”. Until our next issue!

TESTIMONIES OF FAITH
A
ANARELYS BARISONTE’S GRATITUTE: I would firstly like to thank God for his great mercy to Jony, for allowing him to live despite the odds, and today he is an example that miracles do exist. Faith makes anything possible. Thank you very much to all my brothers in Christ who were present with their prayers: Methodists, Baptists, Apostolics and without denomination from Cuba, Grand Cayman and the United States. Thanks to all my relatives and friends who were very supportive, both spiritually and financially. I also want to thank many of the doctors who were part of the progress in Jonathan’s life throughout these years: Dr. Krishna Mani, ophthalmologist who discovered the tumor, the neurosurgical team at Baptist Hospital in Kendall (Dr. Gonzalez-Arias, Dr. Klem), his oncologist Dr. Daghistani, the therapists, the gastroenterologist, the pediatrician, the eye doctor, nurses etc. We had a tremendous team of angels who looked after Jonathan from the start until he was discharged, and all of them showed their unconditional love and dedication.
narelys Barisonte still vividly remembers when she received the news that would radically change her life. Her son Jonathan was only six years old when he started vomiting continuously for a week. She visited several doctors without receiving a diagnosis. By that time, Jonathan had started to reject his meals and lost a considerably amount of weight. The mother also noted that her son had problems with his left eye while watching television. She then took him to a renowned doctor named Dr. Krishna Mani, who carefully listened to the symptoms. During a routine test, the child did not respond to the light test so the doctor immediately sent him for an eye fundus test. Once he obtained the results, he ordered with urgency a CT Scan at the hospital to ensure his possible diagnosis. Monday, June 11, 2007: the CT Scan confirmed what the doctor had feared: Jonathan had a tumor in the back of his brain, the mother recounts with tears in her eyes “it still hurts me to remember”. The doctor gave her instructions to travel immediately to the United States where he had already made arrangements with Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida to receive Jonathan. Anarelys and her son arrived to Miami and had scheduled the surgery for Friday. However, once he was checked by Dr.

Thank you very much to all for being part of Jonathan’s new life; we will always be eternally grateful.
Gonzalez-Arias (Hospital’s Team Director), whom according to Anarelys “God put him on my path”, he decided to perform surgery immediately for Jonathan’s life was at stake. The tumor was called “astrocytoma”, and it was obstructing the normal flow of cerebrospinal fluid which produced an obstructive hydrocephaly in the back of the brain.
The surgery took six long hours during which Anarelys did nothing but pray to God for his son. The doctor came out victorious and told her that Jonathan was going to live and

said “the tumor was the biggest I’ve seen in my 28 years of practice.” Unfortunately, Jonathan had a stroke and two hemorrhage during surgery. When the doctor removed the tumor, some branches of the brain that controls the speech and movements were affected. Jonathan would need an intensive therapy over an extended period of time; Anarelys recalls feeling goosebumps when she learned that. “Only by the grace and mercy of God and the medical staff that He put in my way I was able to recover so quickly and focus on my son’s needs,” she says. Anarelys remembers with sadness the first time that Jonathan wanted to sit on the bed: his frail body collapsed like a rag doll and he could not speak, walk, or move. When Jonathan realized that, he was very agitated, but his mother calmed him down and gave him strength. It was at that moment that the real battle of faith began. Anarelys had to stay in Miami because Jonathan needed long term care and intensive therapy in order to regain his speech and mobility. A week after surgery, Jonathan had complications and he had to go under surgery again to drain liquid that had accumulated in his brain by using a device called a VP shunt. Jonathan recovered but it took him nearly a month to speak his first word. It was a slow process but with faith, patience and perseverance from his devoted mother, Jonathan began to take his first steps, to eat and swallow food and to fully recover his mobility. During this time of arduous therapy, Jonathan got frustrated at times, but his mother was always next to him giving encouragement and teaching him to persevere. After one month, Jonathan had acquired the motor skills necessary to write his full name, and he was able to walk and managed to sit down and stand up on his own. Two months later, Jonathan left the hospital. He was still weak and needed the support of a walker, but he had a smile on his face. Mother and son understood that there was still work to be done and that more therapy was needed at home. “The children’s brain have better capacity to adapt than adults’ brain” explained Dr. GonzalesArias to Anarelys, “you must give him time to see how far he will go in his recovery,” he continued.
7
Today Jonathan is 14 years old and attends regular classes (his mother never wanted him to attend special classes). This past June, he graduated from Middle School with good grades, and this coming school year he will attend High School. He regularly needs reinforcement classes at home because he still does not have the same performance, but he is improving every day. Jonathan’s dream was to play the guitar in a band and to be a soccer player. He could not enter the soccer team because he still has the device (VP shunt) in his brain, but he devoted himself to learn how to play the guitar. He learned very quickly and has performed, along his classmates, in several concerts and also played in his church during Christmas. Encouraged by his sister, he recently decided to give a try to piano and thus exercise both hands as part of his rehabilitation. Jonathan tells us that he prefers piano over guitar, and the music director of his church is preparing him to play music for young people carrying the message of Jesus. How do you think music helped him? We asked Anarelys. “In a way, it raises his self-esteem, he is the group’s guitarist and has performed in concerts in different venues”, proudly tells the mother. Anarelys always reminds Jonathan how wonderful and good God was to them “always give thanks to God who gave you a second chance, and if He let you live is because He has a special mission for you”, she says.

MISSIONS/FOUNDATIONS
“That is the most wonderful thing that has happened to me in life, discovering a mission over my own self” Ruben Campbell talking about his “Music for your Heart Foundation”
W
ith a passion for music in his veins, Ruben Campbell, businessman, musician, composer and singer, is the founder of Music for Your Heart Foundation which has the mission of providing musical instruments and musical education to unprivileged children. The Foundation in its five years has obtained wonderful achievements. It was recently the subject of a documentary broadcasted by Telemundo, one of the most important TV channels in Latin America, for its segment “Rostros de la Ciudad” (Faces of the City). Here Ruben was interviewed and opened the doors of his Foundation to show the dedicated and unconditional work delivered by the staff in charge of teaching music as well as the happiness drawn on children’s faces for developing their musical talents. Real Concepts Magazine, was with Ruben Campbell in a pleasant chat at the Atelier of Spanish Designer Jose Acosta. How did you get into the fashion industry? are you a model? I do not consider myself a model, is something I started doing when I came to this country. I am from Madrid, my mother is from Scotland, my father from Morocco and I did all my schooling education in French. After 14 years in French school I went to college and got a BA in Business and then I had to do military service, so I volunteered to go to Bosnia Herzegovina.
Music for your Heart
Foundation BY: DEB SLATER
Returning from that experience (Bosnia Herzegovina) it took a little time to readjust my life, I started working in the largest consulting firm in the world, Arthur Anderson, then a client hired me to do the same for five times my salary and half the time, That was a “glorious” stage. But, success and money took my life out of track for a while and fed my ego. After two years the company disappeared and then I was able to start my own path as an entrepreneur. Together with a Dutch partner we opened a Real Estate company, we did well and we started a second business, selling air purifiers; after four years of career I decided to go after my own dream: music as a singer and composer. Did you have any experience in the music industry? That is something that runs into my veins, my grandparents sang flamenco, my father continued the tradition and learned to the AGOSTO 2015 • Real Concepts Magazine

play guitar and began to sing the classic French repertoire, I grew up in that environment of music, as a child I used to sing in every family event and parties. How did you arrive to Miami? In those four years of business stage, I decided to make an offer to my partner, price my shares in the two companies and sell them to him so I could come to America, specifically Miami, because of its strategic location within the United States but also as a major Latin American influence. At that time my shares were worth approximately $ 600,000, an important amount of money to achieve my American dream, but two days before my trip to USA my partner tells me he is bankrupted and lost all the money. That is awful!, How did you feel? what did you do? Imagine, that was a sensitive and challenging time; I thought, God, send me a sign that this happens for something good and that is bigger than I expected; so full of faith I took that airplane and flew to this Country with only $ 42 in my pocket, I spent $ 32 on the flat fee for the taxi from the airport to the beach, and left me with $10. I sat on a bench at Flamingo Park with my tennis racket waiting in front of the tennis court, a man who had it reserved asked me to play with him because his partner did not show up and finally offered me a job... as a Painter! that was my first job. Interestingly, the first house to paint belonged to the Bee Gees and the person who was moving to this house wanted to build a music studio in the garage, that is curious, I thought... Do you believe in God? Yes I do, and in angels too! What is faith in your life? Faith is the foundation that lives within you, Faith is a refuge where you find the strength and confirm your ideas and sometimes you need to lose everything to find yourself, and then faith comes back.
9
How does Music for Your Heart Foundation is born? A year after arriving in Miami and meeting with some recording companies, I knew that they had no budget for new talents like me, I understood that I had to make my own way. My passion was always music and children, so I decided to create a platform that did not depend on either the industry or the economic times and so Music for your Heart Foundation was born. It is a Non Profit 501c3, fully tax deductible for people who donates and our mission is to bring instruments and music education to underprivileged children. How do you see yourself in the future? I see myself dedicating more time to the foundation that I can give now, making it stronger, with more collaboration to reach other countries. What is family to you? Family is the unconditional support of the people, it is a concept that I open to more people than what family is understood of, sometimes family is not someone out of direct blood, family can be a great friend who has proven to be there in good times and bad ones. Are you thinking to have a family yourself? That is perhaps the sacrifice I have made so far to give priority to the seven projects that I have, because they are the source to develop the Foundation. I love children and I am very romantic and family-oriented. I think that special person has not come into my life yet. If you are not on this earth anymore and you will stand in front of your Creator, what would you say to HIM? Thank you for giving me the opportunity to exist, for all the experiences, for teaching me to be the person I am, for blessing me with health and with the ability to help. rom the 10th to the 12th of August 2015, it will be held the III International Medical Mission Amazonas 2015. For three years, more than 8,000 patients have been receiving medical treatment including seven cleft lips surgery and one palate surgery by Dr. Jorge Reina. More than 250 annual volunteers from all over the world donate their time and service in this mission by providing love, health and progress. One of the volunteers is our beautiful Cynthia D ‘Costa, Actress, model and talk show Columnist for La Revista de Zuleyka (Univision) which, along with Dr. Cesar Mendoza, are the directors of this noble work founded by William Baldarrago, and Jorge Chirinos (President). She shared with us that around one thousand patients per day were treated in previous missions. In addition, at around 3:00am and despite weather conditions, patiences were in line expecting to be seen by cardiologists, oncologists, dermatologists and highly recognized colombian doctor Ana Falabella. Futhermore, we should add that Dr. Falabella closes her office for a week and it takes her staff to collaborate with this work, covering all travel expenses so the town of Chachapoyas can receive appropriate skin care. “Marleny, a deaf-mute girl is our symbol in this Mission” - says Cynthia - “she taught us how to speak from the heart, she lives in Kuelap, three hours from Chachapoyas, Peru. Also, we have Professor Martha Lopez from the Department of Education, she is responsible for children to learn and have fun while parents get treated. Such missions make us appreciate all the blessings we have, and at the end of the day you feel complete satisfaction and leave the place full of hope and love to spread throughout the world” affirm cynthia, To sum up, Cynthia told us moments of joy such us the time Dr Ernesto Flores and his team of odontologists treated elders in a nursing home with prosthesis so they can eat properly and smiles filled up the room, but also moments of anguish while waiting on the oncologic outcomes of children and adults, and giving them care and relevant support. The moment of triumph and glory comes when they all say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !!!

Music... and It Was Good BY: SHANNA TAULER Director of 4 Ever Music
M
ushika , mushik, musique, music o música... whatever the language in which it is written, we all know that it is an universal language and has become part of our lives since is first heard, perhaps from the womb of our mother. The music, often has served people in history to calm their anxieties, like the case of the well known King Saul, when he commanded the young David to play the harp and thus remove the anguish of his heart; others have used it as a means of overcoming in life, such as the famous blind singer Andrea Bochelli, and others are anonymous composers like the one who composed the famous “Happy Birthday” or “Feliz Cumpleaños” with no knowing it will reach millions of people around the world to sing a simple song ... whatever the purpose is, it has been shown that music is a powerful weapon that humans carry in our soul to achieve good or evil purposes, and when I say that we carry within our soul is because many times, even in silence, we have remembered unforgettable melodies that have transported to us to a moment that made us think or remember something very important that marked our lives.
Since I have started to teach music I have seen the importance of choosing songs with a positive content and values that encourage students to become a better person every day; Also, I have seen children with an aggressive, depressive or meaningless character have flourished to life through the music and they understand that through his musical talents they have the ability to connect with an audience that made them feel special. , mushik, musique, music Whatever you want to call it ... Mushika or música ... it will always reach the hearts of everyone ... but when use it, I will suggest you do to it only to build up persons and I assure you that this will be the best composition of your live.

WHEN SCIENCE EMBRACES GOD
No
Time to Waste BY: EDUARDO PEREZ SLATER eduardo@realconceptsmagazine.com
“Time is one of the few important things left to us”, a very realistic thought from the surrealist mind of Salvador Dali.
I
t is not strange for anyone to say that “time flies” and, lately, it flies with an amazing speed; some explain this phenomenon to how overwhelming our daily lives have become. Nowadays, thanks to the smart phones combined with our beloved internet we can manage to do many things at once and move faster in our daily chores making us somehow, to lose track of time; but this theory would be valid if only our personal time goes faster and not overall. But what about if days were shortened?, if it is not just a mental illusion to maintain our brains busy 24/7?, what if something happened to our aching planet that made this change and someone had already warned us 2,000 years ago? Speaking of time, let us go back a little to a very sad day: March 11, 2011, Tohoku, Japan. One of the strongest earthquakes in history hit the country of the Rising Sun, which had a level of 9.00 in seismic scale and made the whole Japanese territory to move 8 feet from where it was. But let’s go back in time again, unfortunately to another sad day: February 27, 2010, a heartless earthquake violently shakes the regions of Maule and Biobio and generally throughout all Chile, an earthquake measuring 8.8 on the seismic scale had hit the brave people of Chile early Saturday.

WHEN SCIENCE EMBRACES GOD
13
Now, why do earthquake happen? The earth’s crust consists of 15 plates, since these plates are on a viscous liquid, they move all the time and when they rub against each other, tremors start. It is estimated that there are approximately 1 million tremors per day but most of them are so small that can only be detected by a seismograph. When one of the rubbing plates yield its position, an earthquake starts and some of them may be strong enough, such as the one in Japan in 2011 and the one in Chile in 2010, that make the earth to be compressed a little, change its axis and rotate faster; much the same as skaters in the Olympics when their arms get closer to their bodies to rotate themselves creating more speed on their laps, which physics call it “conservation of angular momentum.” Somehow this happened to the earth after these two earthquakes. The earth shrunk slightly and rotated a little faster, shortening the days by approximately 1.3 microseconds due to that land compression. However, someone warned us about this event many years ago. Matthew wrote in the Bible about the beginning of sorrows: “And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened” (Matthew 24) Everything can be a simple coincidence or maybe there is a part in history in which science runs to embrace God telling him like a child tells his father: “You were right dad”.

His unique blend of humor and hard-hitting truths encourages, equips and motivates his audiences. This true man of God was in the ministry for most of his life, and it is a great honor for me to have this opportunity to interview him. I want to thank Esther who made the necessary arrangement to gather all the family together for the photo-shooting. As soon as we entered his house, we felt welcome, and perceived the harmony and family love among them. It brought us back in time where family share quality time around the table with a home made meal while grandchildren were running around the house. The real concept of family values is found in the Swilley’s home.

BY: DEBORAH R. SLATER PHOTOGRAPHY: NORA PELAEZ
Bishop Swilley, you were in the ministry your entire life, how is it being a son of pastors back in those day, and how is it now? Ministry is pretty much the same over the past 40 years. God is the same yesterday, today and forever and people have the same needs it’s just the culture changes. The culture today is highly influenced by secular humanism and questioning the very existence of God or the need of the church. What makes ministry successful today is that you lead by example, that the power of God is evident in your life and that people feel you have a true compassion for them. So in order for your ministry to be timeless you have to be founded on the Word of God but very sensitive to the culture and the problems facing the people that Jesus died for. How do you think we can have a life with the heart always warm and at the same time hunger for the word of God? I believe that every dream we have is a snapshot that God gives us of our destiny. When the bible says, “delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your Heart” (Psalm 37:4) it means that your dreams and your worship go hand in hand. The more hungry you are for God and the more you seek Him the clearer your destiny becomes. This is the wonderful journey God allows you to have through life. The Word of God always proves that even what Satan intends things for evil, God turns them for your good. So the more passionate I am towards God, the more I feel His passion and His presence back toward me. So the quickest way for me to become a success in every area of my life is to be aware of Him all day long, every day and as I please Him everything works out for my good.
What do you think is the characteristic that made you be successful as a businessman? Many times people miss the fact that spiritual principles are just as affective in the secular world as they are in the church. The two principles that made me a very successful businessman were first, I’ve always had a gift of servanthood. Whether it be in corporate America or having my own business, I would see a need in my company or in the market and I would begin to serve and meet needs. People will pay a lot of money for someone who knows how to come up with solutions. People are repulsed by arrogance and a selfish mindset but they are very attracted to someone who feels that they understand your client viewpoint and needs. The second area that made me very successful in business was the ability to be creative. The first thing Father God does in the Bible is show the power of creativity. In business whenever it seemed there wasn’t a solution to a problem, I would pray and God would give me a creative strategy that allowed me to become very successful. These two qualities are available to every business man and business woman.
Who impacted your life that help you make that shift to push you to another level in the ministry? I’ve had many great influencers in my life from my parents to my extended family in ministry growing up. But one of the most influential people for me in ministry was Apostle Maldonado. He said to me, “Many people in the American Church can preach and
What do you think is the pillar in building a legacy to our generation? I think the pillar is in our priorities. If you’re not thinking three generations ahead you’re not thinking about legacy. I have already assigned three parts of my ministry and business to my children. My next priority is how I will leave a legacy for my grandchildren.

We live in a very selfish world where people think only about themselves and their own problems. I have found when you focus of God, your personal problems become very small. How do a man of God who has a calling to ministry should balance his family life and his calling? It’s very clear to me, God is first in my life, my marriage is second, my family is third and my ministry is fourth. In 1 Timothy three it states clearly, “How can a man lead and minister in the house of God if he hasn’t first proven his ministry in His marriage and family”. Marriage and family is the laboratory where you prove your ministry. BISHOP SWILLEY I WILL ASK YOU A FEW QUESTIONS THAT COME FROM TEENS AND YOUNG PEOPLE: What do you think God created Devil, if he knew ahead that he would betray him, it is necessary these kind of Judas for the good prevail? There were two trees in the garden, the first tree in the center of the garden was the tree of life. The second tree was the tree of choice. In order for God to establish love He had to establish choice. When God established choice He created the 4 possibility of sin. And sin is defined as disobedience to the Word of God. Lucifer made a choice which cost him his position in heaven. Adam and Eve made a bad choice which cost them their position in the garden. Judas made a bad choice and in his hopelessness it cost him his life. What Jesus did through the cross is He gave us the ability to correct bad choices and to be completely restored back to our position in God. I think God could have known what Lucifer or Judas would have done but God’s character is to give us life and that life more abundant and he believes that His children will make good choices. So you have a choice today to be in the hall of faith or make bad choices and live in the consequences those decisions bring on you.
3
Why God created Adam with the inmune system in his body, if sickness appeared after they sinned, Did he know that Adam and Eve will sin? Did they get sick before? I think before the fall sickness was impossible, they lived in the presence of God. But again, with every bad choice comes consequences of that decision. When they decided to be their own God, they took themselves out from underneath the former protection of God. Instead of God being their covering, they took fig leaves and covered themselves. This was the beginning of religion. Jesus came to restore our health and to give us the ability to walk in healing. Choose today to accept the fact that the curse has been broken and you have a divine immune system. What is the difference between being a pastor, apostle or bishop, are these titles existed before? In Ephesians the fourth chapter the bible talks about fivefold ministry and how it’s there to equip and mature God’s children. In my role as pastor I model that spirit of Jesus the shepherd, I watch over the people, nurture them, teach them, correct them and help them grow. As a bishop, which is an administrative office, I am like a pastor to pastors or ministers. I help instruct them, give wisdom to them and how best to fulfill God’s call on them in the ministry. As an apostle, you can either be an apostle over other churches or an apostle over a move of God. Although I do cover many churches, my greatest role as an apostle is to help bring the move of God to marriages and families all over the world. A move of God that will bring the family back to it’s rightful place in the Kingdom. From Genesis to revelation, it’s all about family and apostolically I am called to take that message around the world. Real Concepts Magazine • AGOSTO 2015

FASHION
Brushstrokes

Conscious Fashion S
ince our origins, there are four essential pillars in our society: food, housing, energy sources, and clothing. We can trace back the history of clothing as early as the Homo Sapiens (modern Human in the stone age); since they hunted animals and used their skins for clothing. Many publications have described for years the world of fashion, especially since the vibrant technological evolution that we have experienced during the twentieth century through contemporary media. The majority of the publications have been dedicated the women’s fashion thus creating a synonym between women/fashion, as well as attributing the notion that the fashion industry is frivolous, which from my humble opinion, is not true. Fashion has served as a catalyst agent in society. It has broken paradigms and developed the society, changing it, innovating it, and of course, propelling it to the future. That is why, as we strive to understand it, we are expanding our thinking and sociocultural knowledge. Used as a progressive movement and unity among people, fashion demonstrates its enormous power. Nowadays, thanks to these progressive movements, the line between male-female differences in this very interesting field has dimmed; and there is a stronger tendency to return toward the male segment. The inspiration to return to the origins, in tailoring and good fashion, grows strongly in the major cities, from London (where it never lost its essence), New York, Tokyo, Beijing and other cities, This inspiration has been an agent of change were the resurgence of those origins is predictable. Thereby today’s fashion is becoming conscious: climate change, pollution, inequalities of workers in massive Asian factories, penetrate us as a society. The desire for a better future can also be induced from the fashion industry. The new trends is to seek for handmade garments that last longer, were now is important for people to look at the labels and where the clothes are made. The throw away mentality is giving in to a more conscious buy. In the oriental world, we find rivers contaminated with dyes that are dumped by manufacturers (dyes that are banned in the occidental world) to make low cost garments which are demanded for the same western hemisphere as a result of succumbing the marketing strategies from big corporations, where the soul of the sector is controlled by the numbers and not for people. The change exists and our conscious is talking to us; the new fashion philosophy is here to stay. AGOSTO 2015 • Real Concepts Magazine

STEPS TOWARD INDEPENDENCE
J
uly is the month of independence for most Latin American countries and also of this country where we came to live. We came either on our own free choice or because we could not take the situation any longer. Starting today we will share a series of steps toward another independence: your Financial Independence. Technically, financial independence means generating passive income that equal or exceed our outflows (expenses). It does not matter where you are right now, perhaps you have excellent income and feel that it is not sufficient; this information is helpful for everyone, either for the person who received schooling or parents education, as well as for financial planners or accountants, How can this be possible? It is simple, it is done with a simple and practical way through one step at a time.
can be measured, can be controlled. Do you want to take control of your life? Want to know if you are going in the right path or if you need to correct steps, mode, strategy...? This is the beauty of a plan that can be measured. ACTION ORIENTED. This means that the objective is not static. It means that I must do something, take action. Do not use the words “I’m trying”. It is like saying, “I’m trying to be rich”. You would always try but never accomplish it. Use words like: living, searching, conducting, etc. REALISTIC . No one can say what is and is not realistic for you. What I can tell you is that we should identify between realistic and fantasy in accordance with the state we find ourselves in today. TIME-LIMITED. (Due date). An objective is an essence of a dream with a compliance date.
The time (Space in this case) is also against us in our magazine’s section. We will further develop this subject in detail in the next issue. Until next time.

Usually it ended up in a debate with a dead end, it raised more questions than answers and ultimately, it would not get you anywhere. I believe that lately America is copying my family’s golden rule; thus every day is more difficult for someone to exercise their right for freedom of expression without being chopped by the media; but often, the new American Golden Rule is a bit more complicated and difficult to understand.

Timothy Richard Tebow, had none to slim chances to become a professional football player. The Jacksonville quarterback is left-handed, making this a difficult angle to throw the ball and his throwing is not that good neither. He runs better that throwing and doesn’t have an impressive physique for a player at a NFL level. Many are still wondering how he became one of the best quarterbacks in the history of college football. But, what Tim had was more valuable than any other skills in the football game: an unwavering faith. A faith that did not leave him a doubt that he would become a professional player in the NFL; a faith that led him to win the Heisman Trophy; a faith that made the offense move Florida Gators championship in the Sugar Bowl. Tim Tebow never knew what the future would bring to him, but he knew Who was preparing it for him: God. And with war paint on his face where he wrote: “John 3:16”, Tim Tebow became one of the best American football players that the University of Florida has ever seen. Son of a missionary, Tim’s mother was warned by doctors that if she did not abort the baby, it was very likely that she might die from complications or the baby will be born with some abnormalities. The mother of Tim, in a demonstration of absolute

love and faith in God, decided to risk her life to give life to her unborn baby who turn out to be a professional player in the NFL and a spokesman for young generations that are still a nation under God. As spokesman of Christianity in America, Tim was attacked from all flanks due to his believe; and here is where my confusion begins, trying to understand this right of freedom of expression. On one hand, we applaud Bruce Jenner’s sex change and say, “he is strong and brave to make public his radical decision”. On the other hand, we tell Tim Tebow that “he should keep to himself his beliefs.” That makes me think that the “liberal” people are not always as “liberal” when somebody disapproved or disagree with their views. It is obvious that God does not care who wins a football game, but perhaps He cares about who see a football game and what is the message they receive. Tim Tebow is criticized and ridiculed because he kneels and prays before every game; he was also criticized for his participation, along What Tim had was with his mother, on an more valuable than anti-abortion commercial; furthermore he was any other skills in criticized even more when the football game: wore the “John 3:16” on his eye black. fortunate to be alive today because my mother decided not to have an abortion, but ... For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. Tim believes he is blessed to be alive and is now a believer of Jesus Christ, who seeks to share his testimony to the world. Selected by the Denver Broncos in the NFL Draft and then rotated by a couple of teams to be after almost two years without playing professionally, Tim Tebow returned this year to the highest stage in football with the Philadelphia Eagles. Nobody said it was going to be easy, but Tebow is fighting strongly his own challenges as an athlete, likewise he is defending himself against the critics of his religious beliefs. Nonetheless the best is yet to come for this fearless quarterback.

erenny Espinoza discovered her passion for fashion when she was eight years old when she traveled to Nicaragua with her family to visit her aunts who are fashion designers in Nicaragua. She saw them cutting fabrics, using the needles, sewing machine and threads. Then she decided she wanted to design her own clothes, without suspecting the great impact that this would have among her own girlfriends. Yerenny created her first collection of dresses which she called: YDC (Yerenny Dress Creation) “Girls creations with grown up styles”. According to Yerenny, her source of inspiration is nature: butterflies, flowers and colors. As soon as she sees a piece of fabric, she mentally designs the dress: if it is going to have back tail, a bow, ribbon etc. Then she starts to draw the models bringing them to life. She believes that as each butterfly and flower have a short life span, the same thing happens with clothing design: they have a time to shine, then they fade away and disappear. Yerenny is only 11 years old and has already ventured into different activities in television, radio and fashion shows receiving important awards and recognitions, and in some cases she receives money as a prize which she in turn uses it for another passion: charity work. Since the age of six years old, she has been traveling to Nicaragua to help children in need in the neighborhood where her parents grew up; she donates clothes and shoes. Every time she travels to Managua, Nicaragua, she always visits the “Hospital Velez Paez”, she gives away toys to sick children. In addition, she also visits the surroundings of the main church in the city and delivers meals to homeless elderly. Her parents have taught her to help the community, and she does it with love. Due to her generosity, she was recognized by the Foundation Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida and the City of Coral Gables Florida; as well as the National Crime Victims’ Rights and Coral Gables Police. This encourages Yerenny to continue helping those in need. At this time Yerenny has launched her dress collection for girls between the ages of 6-14 years old which have already been used at different events such as, red carpet events, galas and important fashion shows throughout South Florida and other states. ore than 20 years ago, when Colombia was going through the worse violent crisis, when going to buy bread was scary and people were fearful of bombs exploding, when it was easy becoming a victim of a casualty of a war that was between the government and drug trafficking, the most popular name of this time was Pablo Escobar. Even though his hands carried the blood of so many innocent people and even though he had the most powerful empire of cocaine in all latin america, this Pablo Escobar was the dream of many kids. Many of these young adults had to grow up fast, at eight years old they were able to take care their two or three siblings, they were able to work by delivering food from the stores to different houses, or even had to sell candies in buses or the streets to bring money to the house so their parents would not hit them, and who could blame their parents? they were raised the same, for them it was impossible that someone with a reasonable mind would get home without money. If there were women in the house it was not easy either, they would dream about being one of the girlfriends of these drug traffickers that Escobar would take around the country, sell their bodies to start going up in the steps of this mafia and finally find one that would pay for all the needed surgeries to get to Escobar’s circle or at least to one of his closest friends. For these boys and girls it was their only way to get out from where they were and never go back, that way they didn’t have to witness the fights and or endured the abuse from their parents, neither have to focus on those teenage years when they would have to get money just for the day.
This is what you hear from a group of kids 9 through 12 years old playing in the street in a district in Medellin, same thing you hear from other kids in a district of Agua Blanca in Cali, or in the neighborhoods of Buenaventura or in areas like Bella Flor in Bogota.

Like any other day, everybody got up, not expecting anything, then an interruption in the middle of gossiping tv shows to announce something that left us with the mouth open: the first Olympic medal for Colombia was for Rigoberto Uran, 25 years old, a young man from Antioquia who stole the hearts of all Colombians because this young man could have dreamt to be like Pablo Escobar but he decide to be himself and changed the history of a country and their generation. Two years later, a more optimistic Colombia, is wearing the yellow shirt of our soccer team, it was the most common shirt. Our team were doing what many people considered impossible, to be in the quarter finals of the world cup Brasil 2014. In every corner the doubters became fans, all companies had their flags out with pride of their country,
At the end of this great dream, the same kids that since little were training to become the drug trafficker or the prepaid, since that was what the soap operas were showing them, with that conviction and innocence that any child should always have, those dreams and desires, finally said: I don’t wanna be like Pablo Escobar, being like James is “mas bacano”! This tradition has been kept until today, in beach town of Huanchaco (located in Trujillo’s city in La Libertad Department) 580km from Lima, where fishermen still use these small boats for their daily work and then return to the beach riding waves.
Lima has waves of all types and sizes, being the most requested the ones in the districts of Punta Hermosa, Punta Negra and San Bartolo at 50 km south of the capital Lima; in addition, Peru has a prodigious 3,080 km of coastline with waves for all levels of surfers.
Lima is one of the few world capitals that have the ocean close by, just five minutes away. That is why surfing is highly enjoyed in the most populated city of Peru.
The most precious waves are found in the north (La Libertad department) for its perfection and length, such as Chicama beach, north of Huanchaco, which is considered the longest wave in the world, because of its 3 km in length. It is an easy and perfect wave for all levels of surfing.
It is important to highlight that Peru, due its shape and geographic location, have waves every day of the year, making it one of the most consistent coasts in terms of waves.

Further north, in Pacasmayo (also in La Libertad department), there are the most sought out waves for intermediate and advanced levels, and continues further north to Lobitos, Cabo Blanco in Talara and Mancora.
