Realdania

Realdania is a philanthropic association with around 180,000 members. Realdania works for the common good to benefit everyone in Denmark by supporting projects all over the country. The foundation for the philanthropic support is the investment of its assets. Realdania has the subsidiaries Videncentret Bolius and Realdania By & Byg. The association’s head office is in Copenhagen at Jarmers Plads (see address under contact information).

Membership

Anyone who owns real estate in Denmark can become a member of Realdania. Membership of Realdania is free.

Knowledge Center Bolius

Bolius offers homeowners and residents independent knowledge, guidance, and inspiration for their homes on bolius.dk, in the magazine Bolius, and on social media. The goal is to help residents and owners achieve better solutions and higher quality in their homes and gardens, with tips on everything from snails to energy renovation – and thereby support Realdania’s work within the built environment. Bolius also helps to disseminate the knowledge and solutions that emerge in the many initiatives and projects in which Realdania is involved.

Realdania By & Byg

Realdania By & Byg brings Realdania’s mission and strategies for quality of life in the built environment to life through innovative construction and urban development. This includes the preservation and ownership of a collection of historic buildings, which are rented out to pri- vate individuals and businesses. When Realdania By & Byg invests in properties and land, it does so in order to develop or secure building heritage in a sustainable way that would otherwise be lost, and the experiences are shared as inspiration for others. This also includes the iconic homes of a number of Danish architects, which are preserved as shared cultural heritage.

How to Apply for Support

Realdania supports projects that are related to the built environment in Denmark and that are of benefit to the public. To apply for support, a project must support positive change and sustainable development within the built environment, which includes buildings, cities, parks and cultural landscapes.

It can be useful to read more about Realdania’s strategy for philanthropic work, about the association’s philanthropic goals and about the principles of support before applying. Emphasis is placed on the project being supported by others, also financially, to ensure a long life for the project. Realdania does not support purely commercial purposes, party political or church purposes. All applications are processed on an ongoing basis. See more at w realdania.org/whatwedo/applyforfunding.
