YOUTH, GROWTH & MONEY Greenery takes PANTONE’S Color Of The Year,2017 The Pantone color of the year for 2017 is called Greenery. Described as a zesty yellow-green, Greenery represents springtime renewal and refreshment. If you’re thinking of using green in your décor, you’ll enjoy learning more about the personality of this special color and why Greenery is a great color choice for our time. With such a dominant role in nature, the color green represents youth, growth and ultimately maturity. Green is often chosen as the color of money and signifies wealth and elegance. In some cultures, it has deeply religious significance. Choose green to promote harmony and wellbeing. Green comes in a rich spectrum of shades and tints, serving well as the main color for any décor, or as an accent to other color schemes. With tints of yellow, green grows sunnier and sharper as it does in Greenery. With blue tones, green turns cooler, more alpine. Think of Greenery as nature’s neutral.

GREENERY

Greens are welcome in kitchens and dining rooms, as the most popular produce such as lettuce, limes, and peas are green. Pale greens are calming in bedrooms, and work well with blues and whites in bathrooms. You’ll find that green has a moodlifting, nourishing effect, no matter which shade you choose. 15-0343

To introduce green more dramatically, choose a primary green, like the color on stoplights or in emeralds. Green means go, so it can be energizing, but keep in mind that such colors are best used only as accents. Express your healthy vitality by incorporating greens into your home.

TO LIST OR NOT TO LIST

Sellers should make sure their home appears on the local MLS system as soon as the property is listed with an agent, including professional photographs/video. This will ensure the home is exposed to the widest possible pool of potential buyers which translates to the possibility of the highest offer price with the best terms.

THAT IS THE QUESTION Besides getting the highest price for your home there are a number of other factors that have a positive influence on the process and can translate into a great experience. Sellers should seek to hire an agent with a broad base of knowledge such as, recent sales, comparable homes for sale, financing, market trends, staging a home versus not staging and how each of those factors influence the selling process. Most home buyers start their search online, Realtors who work with buyers utilize these consumer online search engines as well, but additionally, Realtors who are members of their local Multiple Listing Service (MLS) have access to current, up to the minute listings.

An agent who will listen is a critical part of the process. A recent seller wrote me a nice letter praising the work ethic of one of our top producing agents. To quote, “Not only did (agent) keep me fully informed from beginning to end, but he truly listened to me and my often voiced questions and concerns. I really felt he valued my opinion.” I believe this quote sums it up nicely:

IN THE EPICENTER THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN MOVING INTO THE CITY As you shop for a home in town, you’ll be happier if your new neighborhood offers the perks of an urban environment. Walkability Is there a bike path or pedestrian sidewalk nearby? Can you walk the dog or take the baby for a stroll safely? Look for lots of street lighting and foot traffic. How close is the nearest coffee shop?

TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUTE TIME

Down time is good but long commutes get old fast. Are you close enough to subway, bus or train services? If you take a car, is there a garage you can use or do you need to buy a parking space?

PARKS AND COMMUNITY CENTERS

Enjoy the beauty a city park offers. Find out if the YMCA or community center has swimming, spinning, and activities for the kids. The local library could have a 3-D printer or give classes in calligraphy or writing fiction.

SHOPPING, RESTAURANTS AND SERVICES

You want grocery shopping, dropping clothes at the dry cleaners, and getting your car serviced to be handy. It’s also fun to get out to the local pub, see a play or go to dinner occasionally. Hopefully you won’t have far to go. Considering the neighborhood will make leaving and coming home much more exciting.
