I would like to bring you up to speed on the current state of real estate in Buncombe County. There has been a significant increase in activity over the last few months. The number of units sold in January of 2012 increased by 41% over the prior year. The sales volume increased by 51% over January of 2011. The number of units sold in February of 2012 increased by 20% over the prior year. The sales volume increased by 11% over February of 2011. The total change in real estate sales for Buncombe County through February of 2012 is 30% both in units sold and sales volume.

Know your indoor air pollutants It is important to have a basic understanding of indoor air pollutants whether you are buying a new home or just wanting to improve your current home. Radon, mold, dust, lead base paint, asbestos, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and combustion gas are the most common pollutants that are found inside a house. Radon is an odorless gas. The EPA lists radon as the second-leading cause of lung cancer. It enters the home through cracks, drains and sumps. A simple test can determine whether the level of radon is dangerous. Mitigation is relatively simple and inexpensive. Mold is very common and occurs to some degree in all homes. Depending of your level of sensitivity this can be a serious problem. Mold grows where there is moisture. So if you find mold the first home improvement is to find the water source and stop the moisture issue. There are several environmentally friendly alterative to removing and cleaning existing mold. mary love

Common products in homes are cabinetry, carpet and paint. It is important that your home is aired completely before moving into a new or remodel house. Combustion Gas is utilized in homes for heating and cooking. It is critical to maintain properly working equipment and to have carbon monoxide detectors in your home. Understanding these basic pollutants will help you when planning on creating a healthy indoor air environment.

the answer: There are differing opinions on this topic. Many lenders will tell you to close at the end of the month so that you have to pay less in per diem interest for the money borrowed from the bank. However, if the extra cash out of pocket is not the biggest concern I would recommend closing at a slower time of the month as your lender and closing attorney will not be as busy. This will help in getting you the closing date and time you want and should make the whole process less stressful.
