the question: I got an offer on my house that included me paying 3% towards buyers closing costs. Should I consider the offer? I thought only the seller paid closing costs ....

the answer: Per the contract the Buyer pays their closing cost and the Seller is to pay theirs. However, it is fine to contract to pay closing cost on behalf of the Buyer as this may help the Buyer actually close on your home. What is done may times is to raise the purchase price by the amount of the seller paid closing costs requested. That way the Seller gets their asking price and the Buyer gets help with closing cost as well.
