RAT E S A RE O N T H E RISE The Bank of Canada began normalizing its monetary policy in March, making higher rates a reality. In fact, mortgage rates are quickly returning to pre-pandemic levels. While that news may have you questioning the timing of selling your home, the interest rates are expected to continue to increase through this year. With each 1% increase in interest rates, the Buyer’s purchasing power drops about 10%. Rising interest rates may greatly reduce the number of qualified buyers, affecting what your home sells for.
