Marketting Myopia •

The purpose : - to design, - to serve

Error of Analysis ? :

Myth 1 : An Ever - Expanding and more affluent population will ensure our growth [growth of population - profit]

Myth 2 : There is no competitive substitute for our industry’s major product [Allegory of Architecture Practice, Demi God syndrom]

Myth 3 : We can protect ourselves through mass production [strong production firm or strong design firm]

Myth 4 : Technical research and development will ensure our growth [Product driven industry or customer based industry]

The Visceral feel of greatness : the organisation must learn to think of itself not as producing goods or services but as buying customers, as doing the things that will make people want to do business with it.

Leadership •

”Leadership is not a license to do less; it is a responsibility to do more. And that’s the trouble. Leadership takes work. It takes time and energy. The effects are not always easily measured and they are not always immediate. Leadership is always a commitment to human beings.. Everything about being a leader is like being a parent. It is about commitment to the well - being of those in our care and having a willingness to make sacrifices to see their interests advanced so that they may carry our banner long after we are gone They (leader) tinkered. They applied small changes. They experimented. Some of their experiments worked. Some didn’t. And in time, momentum built, the changes added up and the organisations and the people within them were transformed. (Leaders eat last by Simon Sinek pp (213 - 216))

Leadership •

Leadership, true leadership, is not he bastion of this who sit at the top. It is the responsibility of anyone who belongs to the group. Though those with formal rank may have authority to work at greater scale, each of use has a responsibility to keep the circle of safety strong. We must all start today to do little things for the good of others‌ one day at a time. Let us be the leaders we wish we had. "(Leaders eat last by Simon Sinek pp (213 - 216))

Sharing through CSR

“One cannot do right in life whilst occupied in doing wrong in another area. Life in one indivisible whole.’ Your personal life always spills into your work life and vice versa.” (Leaders eat last by Simon Sinek pp (213 216))

Conclusion •

Guts as way to break your comfort zone

Ethics as a way for maintaining good practice

“In a gentle way, you can shake the world.”

–Mahatma Gandhi
