The wine area that gives name to the Denomination of Origin Penedès is among the provinces of Barcelona and Tarragona. The influence of the sea and the sun makes the Penedès area warm and soft and suitable for cultivation. With a more or less experimental character other varieties of known quality are grown: Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir. Noir The climate is typically Mediterranean: soft, soft warm and bright. Most of the wineries of the Penedès work with the technical and the most advanced equipment for quality winemaking. This legend is commemorated by a famous Catholic basilica called Nuestra Señora del Pilar ("Our Lady of the Pillar").Near the basilica on the banks of the Ebro are located the city hall, the Llotja de la Seda (old silk exchange), La Seo (literally "the See" in the Aragonese language) or Cathedral of San Salvador, Salvador a magnificent church built over the main mosque (partially preserved in the 11th-century 11th century north wall of the Parroquieta), with Romanesque apses from 12th century; inside, the imposing hallenkirche from the 15th to 16th centuries, the Baroque tower, and finally, with its famous Museum of Tapestries near the Roman ruins of forum and port city wall.. In the village of Briñas stand out the noble houses of S. XVI and XVII, the Plaza Mayor Fountain and the Church of the Assumption. From there we’ll go to San Vicente de la Sonsierra, where is located the castle of XII century. We will also visit the Church of Santa María, great example of the Rioja Romanesque.After this, we’ll go to Ábalos, where stands the Palace of the Marqueses de Legarda. We’ll continue to Nájera, where during the afternoon we’ll visit the Monastery of Santa María la Real, the pantheon of the Kings of Navarra,, in flamboyant Gothic style and where stands the cloister of the Knights (Claustro de los Caballeros). Its main attractions are the Santa ta María de los Reyes Church, the Abacial Tower and the cellars.
