You will have a course tutor who will guide you through your course and will always be willing to listen if you have a problem. However, we understand that sometimes it can be easier talking to someone outside of your curriculum area.

So in addition, we offer a range of support to all students through Student Services, the Student Health and Wellbeing Service and the Learning Skills Centre (LSC).

Student Services

Reaseheath’s Student Services team is available to offer advice and support with such things as: • Accommodation and residential matters • Financial support • Transport • Medical issues • Security • Social activities

Student Health and Wellbeing Service

Our Student Health and Wellbeing Service is available to all students who may be experiencing difficulties. Whatever the problem may be, our team of expert wellbeing advisors, sexual health advisors and nurses are here to help or refer you to the relevant services. Looked After Children (LAC)

We have a designated member of staff who can help facilitate a smooth transition into college for looked after children and care leavers. This support continues throughout their college experience.

College Counselling Service

The College Counselling Service can help support you with more complex issues on a regular basis. If you do need support, referrals are made through the Student Health and Wellbeing Service.

We also have a College Chaplain, an on-site prayer room and reflective space available for use. If you have any specific issues you would like to discuss in confidence prior to starting college, you can contact our wellbeing advisors or the College Chaplain on 01270 613197.

We pride ourselves on providing a safe and stimulating environment for you to learn

Learning support

The experienced staff in our Learning Skills Centre (LSC) provide additional learning support for those students with a range of academic support needs.

We offer targeted, individual assistance to enable you to access your chosen course. The LSC team supports and mentors students in a variety of ways including assisting with course work, developing study skills and supporting independent study.

If you would like to talk to a member of the Learning Skills team please call us on 01270 613199 or email lsc@reaseheath.ac.uk

The team are also available at course open events. Please visit reaseheath. ac.uk/course-open-days to find out when these are taking place.

Eleanor Sherwood Level 1 Certificate in Animal Care

“I access the LSC every week and they read through my work with me so I can understand it better. They’re very helpful and I always feel welcome when I go there.” Library

Our Learning Resource Centre (LRC) offers library and information services, WiFi access, open access computers, printers and a photocopier as well as designated group and silent study areas.

We aim to give you a helpful and friendly service and provide you with the books, journals and electronic resources that you will need for your course, as well as a range of novels, talking books and DVDs for leisure.

Reaseheath Careers and Enterprise Service

Our qualified careers advisors will offer you advice and guidance on your next steps. They can help you to decide which career pathway is best suited to you by considering your interests and your abilities, and will support you in finding out information on your options following your course.

They will also help you with CV writing and cover letters, job interviews, job applications and applying to university.

Parents’ guide

We recognise that deciding what and where to study and knowing that your son or daughter will be looked after whilst at college is important to you as a parent. For further information visit reaseheath.ac.uk/parents
