Mind Mapping My first step is to establish what is already used, what is expected and what is suggested to make a good science fiction cover for a book. Sci-fi books are a common genre and therefore would probably have a distinguishable look or style fromother genres.
The elements I take away from this are – sense of unease, looming tension, surreal imagery, colour themes and meanings of especially the blue tone and the use of capital letters. I feel that these are the elements that are going to be useful on creating a sci-fi themed front cover.
