Google recently started rolling out the updated version of the Google My Business or GMB that was first announced in November of the previous year. But instead of being rolled out to a limited number of users, the updated GMB is presently introduced more widely. An article published by Search Engine Journal shared that Mike Blumenthal, a local search expert confirmed that the new GMB interface is currently being made available to more users in most parts of the US. Although Blumenthal’s confirmation could mean that Google’s current move will most likely benefit a lot of SEO practitioners and website owners, many SEO experts were actually surprised with what’s happening. This is because Google has previously announced that the new GMB interface is designed to manage multiple listings and it will be released to a limited number of businesses. Aside from reaching a relatively larger number of users, the updated Google My Business is praised for its more convenient navigating features. It is also capable of allowing a user to simply click through a listing and perform the needed edits on the same window. Also, the user can now add more listings to a single account without worrying that it will affect the loading speed of listings page. Furthermore, the update implemented on the new Google My Business interface allows it to have a side navigation panel which will be displayed on the left side to promote more convenient access to various features like Insights and Posts. Given the features enumerated earlier, it is quite clear that the update implemented on Google My Business is designed to enable users to accomplish more tasks faster and without the need to open more tabs or windows.
