Who We Are & What We Do Lumen Systems is an independent lighting and audio control specialist. Our team is made up of qualified lighting designers, programmers and audio specialists allowing us to offer a full design package including: design, installation and programming for all your lighting and audio needs. We also offer a management service to oversee your project from the design stage to the commissioning and through to the final hand over.
Design & Specification Lighting Solutions Our lead designers in lighting solutions have 10 years experience in the industry, 8 years specifically with Lutron, and are fully qualified in Lutron programming to the highest standard. Our fully trained specification team can develop tailor made systems to your individual project needs and requirements whether on a smaller residential scale or on a larger commercial scale. After discussing the project with you and deciding on the right lighting (and/or audio) solution, we will put together schematic drawings, which include loading and product schedules to identify power consumption and wiring diagrams for installation purposes. A qualified Lutron programmer will join you on site and aid you in deciding on different lighting schemes throughout your property, adapting the environment in specific rooms to your needs. The system enables you to have complete control over lighting and audio levels in each room, it is easily cutomisable and can be controlled individually or centrally. We aim to make the lighting and audio control installation run as smoothly as possible whether the client or installer has used the system before or not. We will also advise on best ways to ensure your property is energy efficient and how to maintain your system and appliances.

Audio / Visual Solutions Our lead designer for AV and control system is Chris Adair with 26 years experience in the industry. With experience of a huge range of systems we can always select the best products to meet your budget, often coming up with innovative solutions. The main factors for any design: Performance, Aesthetics, Reliability and Simplicity - are all tailored to each client and their values and budget. We feature a few of our favourite brands in this brochure, but the true delivery of well balanced system is designed down to the last connector and cable. Dedicated Home Theatres present special opportunities and Lumen will always deliver spine tingling performance. Having seen many competitors systems over the years we’ve noticed that its rarely a budget constraint that lets them down, but usually misplaced priorities and a lack of basic engineer understanding. Understanding of acoustics is usually completely absent, extraordinary when you realise that 80% of the emotional involvement in films comes from the soundtrack (Quoting George Lucas) . We are highly responsive and always produce to-scale CAD drawings to resolve the details of a custom installation. Our drawings have been complemented as the “easiest I’ve ever worked with” by many installers. Our team of engineers are polite, careful, considerate and all highly experienced, all working to give the client then very best end result.

Home Automation SONANCE The Sonance Architectural series speakers are highly engineered in-wall loudspeakers without baffles, this means that they don’t protrude out from the wall. The internal mounting kit is pretty complex and installers actually have to take a course in how to install the speaker system using templates and a new outlook on installing in-wall speakers. Case study:
Set in the heart of the vibrant east end the award winning Town Hall hotel combines architectural splendour with cutting edge design and a devotion to the pleasures in life. Town hall marries Edwardian, Art Deco and the most cutting edge modern architecture in one harmonious whole. The design has drawn plaudits from English Heritage and won accolades within the industry. Town Hall Hotel won the prestigious RICS London Award for Building Conservation as well and the National Project of
the Year Award, reflecting the exceptional concentration that was put into restoration and preservation as well as imaginative reinvention. Lumen systems provided the hotel with lighting design and consultation services through the recent modernisation. Working alongside the architects, artists and craftsmen at every step of the design process to provide a truly stunning interior which combines the perfect balance between natural and artificial light.
The Town Hall Hotel
On such a large scale refurbishment we were able to completely rewire the hotel to provide new efficient lighting controls at convenient locations. The hotel has a series of intuitive and easy to use lighting control panels with differing levels of control as well as a range of lighting scenes with various light levels from a number of light sources around the room. These can be altered manually using the raise and lower keys to suit the guests preferences in the bedrooms or re-programmed
as the seasons change and different light levels are required. Larger spaces such as the reception area and the event halls required master controls which were installed in a secure area that can only be accessed by staff. Despite now having a larger number and variety of lighting solutions in the Town Hall Hotel, the Lutron control system put in place by Lumen system runs much more efficiently, requiring less maintenance and making significant cost and energy savings for the hotel.
