INTRODUCTION Welcome to Chandanni’s 14-Day Ayurvedic Liver Cleanse and welcome to the family! Let’s get right into it. The liver holds negativity, anger, and toxins. What affects our liver affects our entire body. In the next fourteen days we are pursuing total renewal and rejuvenation of our liver and, by extention, our whole system. Gently and effectively restoring the liver is a priceless act that revitalizes our whole health and general wellness. This unique liver cleanse will allow you to restore, reset and transform your whole life with simple dietary guidelines and a shake you will prepare each morning with our special ayurvedic herb blend. 4
AYURVEDIC LIVER CLEANSE
GUIDELINES 1. The shake you will prepare each morning will become a ritual for you over the next fourteen days. You will put yourself first. As soon as you wake up, make your way to the kitchen to prepare and drink your liver cleanse shake before eating or consuming any liquids or foods. Note the time after you consume the shake and refrain from eating or drinking anything for two hours. It is very important to not drink or eat anything during these post-shake two hours. We recommend waking up early to get it done. 2. To break this fast we suggest making oatmeal or eating fresh fruit. You can soak dried fruits beforehand and add them to the oatmeal. Oatmeal is a gentle and nourishing food to begin your day with. However, as long as you stick to the cleanse’s dietary guidelines (see Food Guide on pages 10-11), you may eat whatever you like. Organic nut milks are allowed, as are maple syrup and coconut sugar.

3. After breakfast, continue your day while following the dietary guidelines. Drink plenty of water and herbal teas. It is very important to keep your blood sugar levels stable especially in the first few days of your cleanse as you will be undergoing detox symptoms. 4. Detox symptoms usually last for three to four days or so from the onset of your cleanse. These symptoms can range anywhere from headaches, muscle and lower back pain, moodiness, discoloration of urine, bloating, night sweats and feeling very tired. All these are normal detox symptoms.
OPTIONAL: IT IS RECOMMENDED TO GET A LYMPHATIC / DRAINAGE MASSAGE DURING THIS CLEANSE TO HELP SOOTHE POSSIBLE MUSCLE PAIN AND SUPPORT THE ELIMINATION PROCESS.
5. Green Juices are allowed on our 14-Day Cleanse as long as they follow the dietary guidelines. This is an optional addition. Make sure to get plenty of fluids during this two week period. Green drinks aid in elimination of toxins while alkalinizing the bloodstream. We highly recommend drinking green juice along your journey. You can get green juice at your local health food store or prepare at home. 6. Refrain from ingesting any drugs, alcohol, vitamins, and supplements during these next two weeks.

Thoroughly blend all ingredients together with lots of juicy fruits. It is best to use low glycemic organic fruits (i.e. blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, papaya, pears, apples, etc.). The fruit can be fresh or frozen. Please make sure to use organic as much as possible.

FOURTEEN DAY BREAKDOWN

DAY 1 - 5 Today you will embark on the first few days of a two-week cycle of totally cleansing, rejuvenating and healing your liver and placing your whole body into a total reset. You will quickly fall into the rhythm of taking your Ayurvedic Liver cleanse shake in the morning and modifying your diet to suit food guidelines on this course. Typically the first day passes without too many challenges. You may undergo detox symptoms from the onset, however, they usually appear at the end of the first day and thereafter. Detox symptoms range anywhere from muscle pain, headaches, joint pain, moodiness, extreme fatigue, bloating, night sweats and discoloration of urine. They tend to occur on and around day one and can last up until day four or five. For the first few days, it is important to keep your blood sugar levels balanced by eating small meals and healthy snacks throughout the day.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO DRINK AT LEAST ONE LITER OF WATER A DAY ON THIS CLEANSE TO HELP FACILITATE THE ELIMINATION PROCESS. Taking a hot bath with Epsom salts and Chandanni’s Naked Massage and Bath Oil helps with elimination and relaxation. You can get this oil from our site or local retailer.

DAY 6 - 8 From day six to day eight you should feel accustomed to the regimen of making your shake in the morning, refraining from eating or drinking anything for two hours after, and the new alkaline-based vegan diet you have adopted for these next two weeks. The detox symptoms should subside by in or around day six if not sooner. Your energy levels will also increase and your appetite may have shrunk. This is very normal to feel less hungry and to have more energy by the end of week one and the onset of week two. Using Mindful Meditation techniques is an effective way of helping us on this journey. Mindful Meditation is when we can allow ourselves to watch without judging or reacting to what is happening within us and around us. If we can develop this ability to witness our feelings and sensations we will see that everything passes just like a wave or like our breath, moving us into more peace and resolve. It is important to maintain good hydration by drinking plenty of water (minimum of one liter per day) and herbal teas like peppermint and fennel tea (be sure that they are caffeine free). These teas help the metabolism and also counteract flatulence and bloating.
DAY 6-8 EMERGE THE ONSET AND TURNING POINT OF NEWNESS AND CHANGE. ONE ALSO BEGINS TO NOTICE THAT INFLAMMATION VISIBLY LEAVES THE BODY AND THAT THE HAIR AND THE SKIN START TO LOOK MORE RADIANT AND LUMINOUS.
DAY 9 - 11 From day nine onwards is generally a feeling of being light and bright. The world begins to look and feel a little different as old habits and vices begin to subside. The appetite in and around day nine becomes less. We recommend eating only when you are hungry. If you skip a meal it is ok. In Ayurveda we suggest usually eating the largest meal of the day between the hours of noon and 4pm when the sun is at it’s strongest. This means that the digestive fires in our system are also working at their peak and so can break down the food more efficiently and effectively. Eating light meals in the morning like oatmeal or fruit is great and then something very light in the evening. A bowl of soup or having some fruit or vegetables is enough. 14
DAY 12 - 14 From day twelve to fourteen the body feels restored and renewed. It is important to continue this regimen as directed until day fourteen. If you have extra herbs left you are more than welcome to continue using them until they are gone but know that you have effectively restored and cleansed your liver after the fourteen day period has passed. Please make sure to drink plenty of water. Only eat when you are hungry and continue with your mindful meditation techniques. It is really important to transition gradually back into your new and improved eating and lifestyle patterns after this cleanse. Please listen to what the body wants and add foods back gradually. We suggest keeping to similar dietary guidelines on day fifteen of this cleanse adding one or two items back and allowing the system to readjust smoothly. If you listen to your body, you will know what to eat. We hope you have benefited from this priceless and transformative experience where you place your liver, mind and body first. Know that you have done yourself and your environment a world of good by becoming more healthy and whole during these past fourteen days. Please allow days twelve to fourteen be an acknowledgment and a celebration of your achievement in this amazing process.
We recommend cleansing your liver with this program every three to four months to keep the system vibrant and the liver healthy and in optimum condition. Thank you for your participation and here’s to your ongoing whole health! Congratulations!
RECIPES FOR YOUR JOURNEY

BLACK EYED PEAS AND COLLARD GREENS 1½ Cup Black Eyed Peas 2 Tbs Grape Seed Oil 1 Onion Chopped 1 Clove Garlic Chopped 8 Cups Water 6 Bay Leaves ½ Tsp Of Tumeric 1 Bunch Collard Greens Chopped 2 Tsp Ground Coriander 1 Tsp Juniper Berry Powder 2 Tsp Dried Basil 16
Soak the beans overnight. In a large pot saute the onions and garlic in oil. Brown the onions slowly until golden brown, now add all the spices and stir in. Add beans after straining them and add 8 cups of fresh water, and bay leaves. Cook for around 40 minutes on medium heat. Steep for 15 minutes and taste. Leave on heat for another few minutes, add sea salt to taste, and voilà!
WHITE BEAN WITH COCONUT AND KOMBU 1 Cup White Beans 1 Bunch Collard Greens 1 Large Onion 2 Cups Coconut Milk ½ Tsp Coriander ½ Tsp Turmeric ½ Tsp Cumin 2 Tbls Coconut / Grapseed Oil 1 Sheet Kombu
Sauté onions in either coconut or grapeseed oil, add coriander, turmeric and cumin. Cook beans separately in water until tender. Chop collard greens into thin strips then add to the onions and spices. Once the beans are cooked mix all together in a big pan, add one can of coconut milk, 2 crushed cloves of garlic and sea salt. Let it simmer for a while until tender and then switch off heat. This is when you add the seaweed Kombu. Kombu will soften with the juice of the stew. Make either brown rice or quinoa to go with it.

MOONG DAAL, ZUCCHINI, ONIONS AND KALE 1½ Cups Brown Rice 1½ Cups Moong Daal (Other Lentils Will Work As Well) 6 Cups Water ½ Tsp Sea Salt 1 Large Yellow Onion 4 Small / Medium Zucchini 4 Cups Loosely Packed Kale Leaves cut or torn into 3 -4" pieces 1 Tbls Coconut Oil 1 Tsp Spices (Coriander, Tumeric, Cumin)
WHITE BEAN AND KALE SOUP White Beans (Around 5 Oz) 2 Large Carrots 2 Tbls Coconut / Grapeseed Oil 1 Large Onion Chopped 4 Cloves Garlic 1 Box Organic Vegetable Broth 2 Bunches Kale Chopped 1 Bay Leaf Sea Salt / Braggs to taste

Place rice into a strainer and rinse well with cold water. Repeat with the moong daal. Add rice, daal, water and salt to a medium sized stockpot (1/2 gallon or larger). Bring to a boil, set to simmer and cover, stirring occasionally. Cook approximately 20 min or until all water is absorbed. Peel onion and slice into quarters. In a large frying pan, add coconut oil over medium heat. When oil is fairly hot, turn the heat down and add onions to the pan. Slice the zucchini into 1/4" discs and add to the onions after about 5 minutes. Sauté until the zucchini starts to soften. Turn off the heat and add the kale, covering the pan so the kale will steam and soften. Once everything is done add vegetables to stock pot and stir well with the rice and daal. Add the spices and stir.
Boil around 5oz white beans (soaked overnight) in a big pan of hot water with sea salt and bay leaves until tender. Place 2 large carrots, peeled and sliced, into a large saucepan, with coconut or grape seed oil over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until brown. Add garlic and cook 2 minutes longer. Add broth, kale and fresh carrots and cover. Cook until kale is tender (around 5 minutes). Once the kale is tender, add cooked beans with juice and heat thoroughly. Serve hot.
MUNG BEANS AND RICE 4½ Cups Water ½ Cup Whole Mung Beans ½ Cup Brown Rice 1 Onion Chopped 3 Cloves Garlic Minced ¼ Cup Finely Minced Ginger Root 3 Cups Chopped Vegetables 2 Tbls Coconut Oil ½ Tsp Coriander ½ Tsp Cumin ½ Tsp Sea Salt
Rinse the mung beans and rice and add them to boiling water. Cook until they begin to split. Add the rice and cook another 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Now add the vegetables*. Heat the oil in a sauté pan and add the onions, garlic, and ginger and sauté until clear. Add the spices and cook 5 more minutes, stirring constantly. Add a little water if necessary. Add this to the cooked rice and beans. *You can substitute vegetables as you like, as well as using Braggs Liquid Aminos or sea salt.

LENTIL SOUP 3 Tbls Cold Pressed Olive Oil 2 Cups Chopped Onions 1 Cup Chopped Celery Stalks 1 Cup Chopped Carrots 2 Garlic Cloves, Chopped 4 Cups (or more) Vegetable Broth 1¼ Cups Lentils, Rinsed, Drained

Heat oil in heavy large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onions, celery, carrots, and garlic; sauté until vegetables begin to brown, about 15 minutes. Add 4 cups broth and lentils and bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until lentils are tender, about 35 minutes. Transfer 2 cups soup (mostly solids) to blender and purée until smooth. Return purée to soup in pan; thin soup with more broth by ¼ cupfuls, if too thick. Season with sea salt or Braggs. Garnish with celery leaves.
PUMPKIN SOUP 2¾ Lbs Sugar Pumpkin (or Butternut Squash, halved and seeded) 1 Onion (peeled and quartered through the stem) 3 Carrots 1 Garlic Clove (peeled) ½ Cup Olive Oil Sea Salt to Taste 5 Cups Vegetable Broth
ROASTED VEGETABLES Parsnips Yams Squash Celery Root Jeruselem Artichokes Beets Carrots Garlic Coconut Oil
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Cut pumpkin and carrots into 2-inch pieces. Combine pumpkin, onion, carrots, and garlic on a baking pan. Add oil and 2 teaspoons salt; toss to coat, then spread in a single layer. Roast until pumpkin is tender when pierced with the tip of a sharp knife, about 30 minutes, rotating pan and tossing vegetables halfway through. Let cool, then remove skins. Transfer vegetables to a medium saucepan; heat over medium. Pour in 2 cups stock; purée with an immersion blender until smooth. With the blender running, slowly add remaining 3 cups stock, and puree until smooth. Bring soup to a simmer. Remove from heat, and season with sea salt. Cover to keep warm.
Chop up parsnips, yams, squash, celery root, Jerusalem Artichokes, beets and carrots and place them in an oven pan. Chop up a few cloves of garlic. Drizzle coconut oil over the vegetables and bake in an oven at 350 degrees until the vegetables are golden and roasted. Remove from oven and sprinkle sea salt. Eat when vegetables have cooled down.
