torthes Hall Park is a student accommodation that mainly attracts first year students. It is situated just outside Huddersfield town centre, with a free bus service provided to the university, if you have a pass. With on sight entertainment offered from the Venue, a personal gym on the doorstep, and a shop.
All rooms are onsuit and there are even premium rooms available that offer more space, at an extra cost of course. Room prices start from ÂŁ100 per week, but this includes all your bills. Flats come in sizes of 6, 7 or 8 bed, with a communal kitchen. At a small fee you can park your car all year round in the secure car park on site. There are also plenty of places to park in the town centre if you ever feel like driving to the university.
By buying a gym pass you are able to access the gym from 8am till 10pm. Occasionally they also put on special classes that are fre of charge for members, or a small fee for nonmembers. On site there is also a shop that’s open 7 days a week. Monday to Friday the shop is open between 8am and 10pm and is open 9am to 10pm Saturday and Sunday. With a large variety to cater every need, it’s a handy shop to get a few bits and bobs instead of going into town. Storthes Hall has beautiful greenery to socialise with friends. Theres an astroterph so you can play football. Or simply walk round the wooded area. With over 1000 residents, you are sure to make plenty.

ccroding to students the best place to go out at night for a drink it to Revolution. With “Lets Get Funked” hosting on a Tuesday there’s always a packed house, especially with drinks at a discounted rate. Sometimes they even host a theme night containing rodeo bulls, dough nuts and glow sticks. They offer a large variety of drinks, including their very own made vodka flavour shots and an array of different cocktails. As well as being a good place to have a good time at night, the spacious dancefloor converts into a pleasurable dinning experience. The restaurant offers great food and healthy sized portions.
At a cost, they also offer a student discount card, allowing you to get great deals.
Other places worthy of a mention are Camel and Tokyo. These are the most popular places to attend on a Wednesday night, which is student night. They have great music and even have different rooms to suit everybodies taste. A good place to go beforehand would be Cotton Factory. With certain drinks being 99p it’s hard to resist. If you’re looking for a quieter night, or a more relaxed place to have a socialable drink, there are plenty of places. Warehouse and Loydes offer a wide selection of beers and even serve pub grub at the same time.

Eating Out V oted for by students, the best place to eat in Huddersfield is Wetherspoons. This will be due to it’s excellent array of choices on the menu. It even has deals where a drink is included, whether it be an alcoholic beverage or something softer. They also have themed days such as steak night where they have special offers too.

n Huddersfield there is lots to do. Obviously a students favourite past time is drinking. But as well as that there is also the Odeon Cinema. It’s a 20 minute walk from the university so it’s easy to get too and has multiple different films playing all day in its 9 different cinema screens. It also has a student ticket that you can purchase at a discounted price to the adult ticket.
A short walk from the cinema is a bowling ally. It has plenty of lanes so you never have to wait around for one to become free.
In Huddersfield Town Centre is the Kingsgate shopping centre containing highstreet shops and all the lastest brands. Outside is the Plaza Centre where you’ll find your discount stores.
