Welcome to our 10th Anniversary Edition of our Allstar Lookbook! Can you believe it? It has been 10 years that I’ve been part of Rebel, and I’ve been honored and delighted to see our family grow – in size, depth of relationship, and the quality of our interactions.

We have evolved so much over the past decade, and as a previous Allstar gym owner myself, I know just how intense this sport has become for program owners, coaches, cheer parents, and cheerleaders. Regardless of your level of involvement, cheerleading is incredibly demanding and incredibly time-consuming. This is why my team, and I, always strive to exceed your expectations at every level of design and service, with every interaction, and to fix any issues or mistakes as quickly as possible.

A tour of Texas wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the state capital. With the slogan “Keep Austin Weird,” this Texas city is laid-back to the point that if you’re dressing up, it must be a life event.

Home to the University of Texas flagship campus, Austin is known for its eclectic live-music scene centered around country, blues, and rock. Its many parks and lakes are popular for hiking, biking, swimming, and boating. South of the city, Formula One's Circuit of the Americas raceway has hosted the United States Grand Prix.

The city dates back to the 1830s, when the first Anglo-American settlers arrived in the area, then part of Mexico. In 1837, settlers founded the village of Waterloo on the banks of the Colorado River, the first permanent settlement in the area. By 1839, Waterloo would adopt the name Austin in honor of Stephen F. Austin, the “Father of Texas,” and the frontier town would become the capital of the Republic of Texas.

Austin attracts many visitors with its live music events. It’s one of the top things to do in Austin, though there’s more music to enjoy than during the South by Southwest and Austin City Limits festivals. As the live music capital of the world, Austin serenades its residents with live music in the airport terminal, on the downtown streets and at about 200 venues in the area.

THE TEXAS GERMAN TOWN

Fredericksburg

THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY ESCAPE

Nestled in the Texas Hill Country between San Antonio and Austin, Fredericksburg is a getaway destination known for its German heritage, small town charm, quaint boutiques, and delicious food. The surrounding Texas Hill Country is home to lush vineyards, flower farms, and generations-old peach orchards.

Visitors can step back in time to the days of the town’s first German settlers thanks to the exhibits at the Pioneer Museum, which is located in downtown Fredericksburg. It features historic homesteads and buildings including a one-room schoolhouse, a log cabin, a Sunday house, a bath house, a barn, and a smokehouse that all showcase artifacts and architecture. Shops and tourist attractions may come and go, but one aspect of Fredericksburg has stood the test of time: the historic storefronts up and down Main Street. Located inside the beautiful historic buildings along the stretch of Main Street, you will find eclectic specialty stores selling jewelry, home goods, clothing, and art.

Depending on what time of year you visit, there is almost always a seasonal festival on the lineup. In spring, expect events surrounding the Texas bluebonnets in bloom. In the fall, the town is gearing up for Oktoberfest (which celebrates the town's German heritage) and the Food & Wine Festival. Fredericksburg also gets decked out for the holidays and is not to be missed.

Enchanted ROCK

ON TOP OF THE HILLS

Many legends surround Enchanted Rock, the large granite dome in southwestern Llano County, Texas. As its name suggests, Enchanted Rock mystifies and intrigues those who visit it. Even as far back as when Native Americans reigned in the Hill Country, legends have surrounded this place.

One of the more unusual legends surrounding Enchanted rock hints at the misinformation the Spanish had about Texas. They believed the area harbored silver deposits, and some thought Enchanted Rock itself was made of silver. Others even linked this geologic feature to the mythical El Dorado. The quest for riches drove the Spanish, Germans, and Anglos to the area. In fact, the Spanish attempted to mine silver nearby in the Riley Mountains at Las Almagras Mine, and while they didn’t find gold or silver, they did discover the geological wonders of Texas on the Llano Uplift including the Riley Mountains and Enchanted Rock.

Enchanted Rock rises 425 feet above the base elevation of the park that surrounds it with a high point is 1,825 feet above sea level. The entire dome covers 640 acres! Climbing the Rock is like climbing the stairs of a 30- or 40-story building. And yes! Our talent did the entire climb (up and down) in Rebel uniforms!

One billion years ago, this granite was part of a large pool of magma, or hot liquid rock, perhaps seven miles below the earth’s surface. It pushed up into the rock above in places, then cooled and hardened very slowly, turning into granite. Over time, the surface rock and soil wore away, leaving us with truly enchanting geological feature in the heart of Texas.

South Padre Island is a tropical oasis located off the southern coast of Texas. This barrier island offers the unsurpassed beauty of the Laguna Madre Bay and the Gulf of Mexico and is the ideal year-round destination for visitors seeking a getaway from the daily grind.

Known for its beaches and calm waters, this 34-mile-long stretch of paradise is consistently ranked as a top beach destination by travelers across the globe. The year-round warm weather attracts tourists allowing them to experience 300+ days of sunshine, and all forms of entertainment from water sports to live music. With personal water craft rental, parasailing and dolphin watches being the most popular. Other favorites are horseback riding adventures on the beach and ecological tours that explore Laguna Madre Bay and Gulf of Mexico.

South Padre Island was a beautiful, desolate place where native Karankawa Indians, migratory birds, and sea turtles were the only residents. The Island was granted to Nicolás Ballí from King Carlos III of Spain in 1759 and later passed to Ballí’s grandson, Padre José Nicolás Ballí. Soon after, Padre José brought the first permanent settlers, establishing a church and teaching Christianity to the Karankawa Indians.

When Padre Ballí owned the Island, it was known as the Isla de Santiago. Due to the Padre’s reputation as a kind man, the people to whom he ministered affectionately referred to the Island as La Isla Padre – Padre Island. While the Island’s population has grown significantly since then, the sandy, white beaches, and calm ocean waters still attract migratory birds and sea turtles, and the strong sense of community and acceptance Padre Ballí taught continues to live on today. That’s one of the many reasons why so many people choose to live on and visit South Padre Island every year.
