Shop Inc. Horse Heaven Supply Agriculture is woven into the fabric of Washington State’s heritage and has been an important part of our culture since the earliest days of territorial settlement. Quality An economic pillar of our community, established in the late 1970’s as a supply location for the Horse Heaven Farms, Horse Heaven Supply was opened to the public in May of 2015. “We created Horse Heaven Supply because of a growing need for Farm and Ranch supplies, irrigation equipment and parts, tractor parts and custom fabrication in the Prosser area.” Now in their third year of business, the convenience of having a local farm supply resource has cut the waiting time for ranchers and farmers “up on the hill” who need materials for their ranch and farm projects quickly and efficiently. Darrell Clark, Manager for Horse Heaven Supply, describes the business as a “needs store,” serving the surrounding

NW Farm Supply Coming back to Prosser is Kevin McClure as Manager for the new NW Farm Supply store. Initially teamed-up from the two-time state championship seasons (‘92 to ’94 top-ten ranked in the NW region), celebrated Prosser High football quarterback McClure returns to Prosser backed by teammate, Shane Munn. This all-star team reunites here years later as leader in the NW Farm Supply team. As owner of the store, Munn partnered with NW Supply and Nathan Crowther to form the business. “Our slogan at NW Farm Supply is ‘Products You Trust, From People Who Care.’ We carry over 20,000 items focused primarily on meeting the needs of local farmers and ranchers. By grouping our purchases with other farm stores nationally, we have access to innovative products at competitive prices. We welcome the opportunity to order supplies to help meet your needs. We also have delivery services available. Here at NW Farm Supply we know the importance of employees who are knowledgeable and experienced in what they do,” says Crowther. “Our livestock field men have extensive experience and training. Sprayer parts and pumps are emphasized at our Hermiston location and available at our other locations. Many of our employees are also bilingual.” The main product categories at NW Farm Supply include feed, fencing, livestock supplies and equipment, animal health, sprayers, hose, tanks, pumps, trailers, automotive supplies, baler twine, grass seed, and pet food and supplies. Each location has items that are specific to the needs of farmers in their area. Their 4-H and FFA programs offer discounts for youth livestock projects and supports 14 regional and local youth livestock auctions. NW Farm Supply also holds a nutrition clinic annually to help the youth learn how to better help their animals thrive. They also host an annual jackpot steer show in Hermiston where youth come from many counties where they practice showing and are able to help each other learn. The NW Farm Supply sells over 20,000 chicks annually. Premier Northwest Trailer Manufacturing also adjoins the Hermiston store and has built over 2,500 trailers, many of which are custom built to meet the needs of local producers. Opening soon, NW Farm Supply, a family owned retail business
headquartered in Hermiston, Oregon which opened in March, 1995, they added a second store in Walla Walla, Washington in July, 2003 and Premier Northwest Trailer Manufacturing in December, 2004. NW Farms Supply also opened a third store in Othello, Washington in November, 2017 and are currently building this new store in Prosser with plans to open this summer. Crowther would like to thank the Prosser Economic Development Association, Deb Heintz and the City of Prosser, Steve Zetz and Barry Marrow for their help in developing the project.

Casey at the Bat The outlook wasn’t brilliant for the Mudville nine that day: The score stood four to two, with but one inning more to play, And then when Cooney died at first, and Barrows did the same, A pall-like silence fell upon the patrons of the game. A straggling few got up to go in deep despair. The rest Clung to the hope which springs eternal in the human breast; They thought, “If only Casey could but get a whack at thatWe’d put up even money now, with Casey at the bat.” But Flynn preceded Casey, as did also Jimmy Blake, And the former was a hoodoo, while the later was a cake; So, upon that stricken multitude from melancholy sat, For there seemed but little chance of Casey getting to the bat. But Flynn let drive a single, to the wonderment of all, And Blake, the much despised, tore the cover off the ball;
And when the dust had lifted, and men saw what had occurred, There was Jimmy safe at second and Flynn a-hugging third. Then from five thousand throats and more there rose a lusty yell; It rumbled through the valley, it rattled in the dell; It pounded on the mountain and recoiled upon the flat, For Casey, mighty Casey, was advancing to the bat. There was ease in Casey’s manner as he stepped into his place; There was pride in Casey’s bearing and a smile lit Casey’s face. And when, responding to the cheers, he lightly doffed his hat, No stranger in the crowd could doubt ‘twas Casey at the bat. Ten thousand eyes were on him as he rubbed his hands with dirt; Five thousand tongues applauded when he wiped them on his shirt; Then while the writhing pitcher ground the ball into his hip, Defiance flashed in Casey’s eye, a sneer curled Casey’s lip.
By Ernest Lawrence Thayer And now the leather-covered sphere came hurtling through the air, And Casey stood a-watching it in haughty grandeur there. Close by the sturdy batsman the ball unheeded sped“That ain’t my style,” said Casey. “Strike one!” the umpire said. From the benches, black with people, there went up a muffled roar, Like the beating of the store-waves on a stern and distant shore; “Kill him! Kill the umpire!” shouted someone on the stand; And it’s likely they’d have killed him had not Casey raised his hand.
The sneer is gone from Casey’s lip, his teeth are clenched in hate, He pounds with cruel violence his bat upon the plate; And now the pitcher holds the ball, and now he lets it go, And now the air is shattered by the force of Casey’s blow. Oh, somewhere in this favoured land the sun is shining bright, The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light; And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout, But there is no joy in Mudville – mighty Casey has struck out.
With a smile of Christian charity great Casey’s visage shone; He stilled the rising tumult; he bade the game go on; He signaled to the pitcher, and once more the dun sphere flew; But Casey still ignored it and the umpire said, “Strike two!” “Fraud!” cried the maddened thousands, and echo answered “Fraud!” But one scornful look from Casey and the audience was awed. They saw his face grow stern and cold, the saw his muscles strain, And they knew that Casey wouldn’t let that ball go by again.
