Dear Librarians, The author of four New York Times bestsellers, Ron Suskind was the senior national affairs writer for the Wall Street Journal, where he won the Pulitzer Prize. Currently the Senior Fellow at Harvard’s Center for Ethics, he lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with his wife, Cornelia Kennedy, and their son, who is autistic. An active toddler fully engaged in life and his surroundings, Owen Suskind abruptly lost his ability to communicate at the age of three. While the family desperately searched for answers, they soon discovered their son was relying almost exclusively on animated movies to understand himself, his emotions, and the complexities of human interaction.

More than a tale of redemption, Life, Animated: A Story of Sidekicks, Heroes, and Autism lifts the veil on a widely misunderstood condition and provides new insights toward understanding and communicating with those whose worlds are not in sync with our own. It’s a story so important and so poignant that Recorded Books had Ron Suskind himself narrate the audiobook.
