Throughout 2011 we have had important professional experiences and have achieved notable successes, which, with great pleasure, we wish to share with you. In the professional field, we have participated proactively in a series of successful cases and operations of great scope, milestones in the development and stable growth of the country, some of which are presented in this annual report. Incidentally, our participation in the issuance of a series of financial tools into foreign markets has effectively facilitated procurement of resources for the development of important economic activities. We permanently care about transcending our natural space and returning, through our tasks, the confidence due to Peruvian society. We have dedicated our Pro Bono legal services to vulnerable sectors and our work in social responsibility has been expressed in the various projects we support throughout the year. In this respect, we again successfully organized the second consecutive version of Moot Lima, a competition for undergraduate students from all law schools of Peru. This competition seeks to promote their abilities of analysis, debate, speech and persuasion, while simultaneously promoting integration of students from a diversity of universities throughout the country. We are close to 100 lawyers and a team of more than 200 persons committed to continue with the same professionalism and creativity with which we started on January 2, 1950. Talisman Perú B.V., Sucursal del Perú, empresa petrolera con operaciones en la selva peruana, permanentemente necesita abastecerse de combustible y otros suministros para sus actividades ubicadas entre las cuencas de los ríos Morona y Pastaza, provincia del Alto Amazonas, en la región Loreto, siendo su centro logístico de operaciones la base denominada Sargento Puño.
Talisman Peru B.V., Sucursal del Perú, an oil company with operations in the Peruvian jungle, permanently needs to stock up on fuel and other supplies for its activities, which are located between the basins of the Morona and Pastaza rivers, province of Alto Amazonas, in the region of Loreto. The base, designated as Sargento Puño, is its logistical center of operations.

El transporte de combustible desde la ciudad de Iquitos hasta Sargento Puño, toma unos 30 días, y tiene un alto costo que no podía reducirse dada la naturaleza del transporte fluvial. La empresa, con la ayuda del Estudio Echecopar, diseñó una alternativa para una nueva ruta a través del territorio ecuatoriano para abastecer de una manera más eficaz los campamentos de Talisman en la selva peruana.
Transportation of fuel from the city of Iquitos to Sargento Puño takes about 30 days, and has a high cost that could not be lessened given the nature of fluvial transportation. The company, with help from Estudio Echecopar, designed an alternative for a new route through Ecuador to more effectively bring supplies to the Talisman campsites in the Peruvian jungle.
Estudio Echecopar diseñó la arquitectura legal y ejecutó la estrategia de esta operación aduanera dentro del marco normativo vigente de la Comunidad Andina, lográndose que las autoridades de Ecuador y Perú aprobaran las acciones que permitieron el éxito de una operación sin precedentes.
Estudio Echecopar designed the legal architecture and executed the strategy of this customs operation within the existing Andean Community’s normative framework, achieving the approval by Ecuador and Peru authorities of the actions that permitted the successful outcome of an unprecedented operation.

>> El 18 de enero de 2012 se concretó la primera operación de Tránsito Aduanero Comunitario por el río Morona como paso de frontera entre Perú y Ecuador. Se transportaron miles de galones de biodiesel, desde la refinería de Petroperú, en Talara, hasta las instalaciones petroleras de Talisman en “Sargento Puño”, previo ingreso por las ciudades ecuatorianas de Huaquillas, Cuenca y Puerto Morona, respectivamente.
>> On January 18, 2012, the first operation of Communal Transit Customs on the Morona River as a border passage between Peru and Ecuador was finally accomplished. Thousands of gallons of biodiesel fuel were transported from the Petroperu refinery in Talara to the Talisman oil facilities at Sargento Puño by first entering through the Ecuadorian cities of Huaquillas, Cuenca and Puerto Morona, respectively.
>> El combustible se trasladó en 06 camiones-cisterna desde Talara hasta puerto Morona. Luego fueron puestos en barcazas, y por vía fluvial llegaron hasta Sargento Puño. El tiempo de la operación fue de 10 días.

>> The fuel was transported to Morona port in six tankers that left Talara by land. They were then placed on board of barges and travelled by river to Sargento Puño. The time required for the operation was 10 days.

Volcan – International Issuance of Global Bonds
Volcan Compañía Minera S.A.A. colocó US $600 millones en emisión internacional de bonos globales bajo la Regla 144A y la Regulación S de U.S. Securities Act. de los Estados Unidos. Los bonos, que vencen el año 2022, reditúan un interés de 5.375% anual, pagaderos semestralmente y cuentan con garantías corporativas otorgadas por dos empresas subsidiarias de Volcan.
Volcan Compañía Minera S.A.A. placed $600 million in an international issuance of global bonds under Rule 144A and Regulation S of the U.S. Securities Act of the United States of America. The bonds, which mature in 2022, yield an annual interest rate of 5.375%, payable half-yearly. These bonds are guaranteed by corporate guarantees granted by two Volcan subsidiary companies.
La emisión se registró ante la Superintendencia del Mercado de Valores peruana como Oferta Pública exclusiva para inversionistas institucionales. Contó con un tramo de colocación local, a fin de que el emisor acceda a la exoneración del IGV aplicable al pago de los intereses devengados. El Estudio Echecopar, conjuntamente con Shearman & Sterling LLP, asesoró a Volcan en su calidad de emisor de los bonos.
The issuance was registered with the Superintendence of the Peruvian Stock Market as a Public Offering directed exclusively at institutional investors. This issuance underwent a stretch of local placement with the objective that the issuer accedes to the exoneration of the IGV applicable to the payment of accrued interests. Throughout the whole procedure, Estudio Echecopar, in conjunction with Shearman & Sterling LLP, counseled Volcan, the issuer of the bonds.

Mining activity is heavily regulated, both with regards to the extraction and processing activities, as well as that concerning to protection and care of the environment.
Ésta es la primera emisión bajo la Regla 144A que se registra ante la Superintendencia del Mercado de Valores peruana para acceder a la exoneración del IGV al pago de los intereses. El Estudio Echecopar, en coordinación con las entidades regulatorias peruanas, puso a prueba su creatividad al implementar un procedimiento nunca antes utilizado en el país.
Estudio Echecopar implementó un tramo local de la oferta a través de un procedimiento sin precedentes en el Perú. Esto permitirá a Volcan un ahorro significativo en el costo del financiamiento al estar exonerado del pago del IGV sobre los intereses de los bonos.

A Savings Strategy Never Seen Before
This is the first issuance under Rule 144A that was registered with the Peruvian Stock Market Superintendence in order to accede to the exoneration of the payment of the IGV on the interests. Estudio Echecopar, in coordination with the Peruvian regulatory entities, put into practice its creativity to implement a procedure never used before in the country.
Estudio Echecopar implemented a stretch of local offering through the use of an unprecedented procedure in Peru. This will permit Volcan significant savings in the cost of financing by being exonerated from payment of the IGV on the interests generated by the bonds.

Tribeca Natural Resources Fund is a Colombian investment fund specializing in mining products, and it acquired a majority participation in GoldPlata Resources Peru S.A.C., a company involved in mining projects in gold, copper and silver in Southern Peru, which will shortly enter its production stage.

El Estudio Echecopar asesoró a Activos Mineros S.A.C. (AMSAC), ProInversión y Fonafe en una controversia con MACSA sobre titularidad de las concesiones mineras que conforman el “Proyecto Magistral”, en el departamento de Ancash.
Estudio Echecopar served as counsel to Activos Mineros S.A.C, ProInversion and Fonafe in a controversy with MACSA regarding the ownership of the mining concessions that comprise the “Proyecto Magistral”, located in the department of Ancash.
Durante la ejecución, MACSA, a cargo de la exploración y explotación, tuvo una serie de incidentes que redundaron en un incumplimiento contractual. Esto originó la demanda y la instalación de un tribunal arbitral para resolver la resolución del contrato y el pago de una indemnización.
During the execution, MACSA, in charge of the exploration and exploitation, partook in a series of incidents that resulted in a breach of contract. This originated the lawsuit and established an arbitration commission to resolve the controversy regarding the resolution of the contract and the payment of indemnity.

Es la demanda patrimonialmente más significativa que ha tenido el Estado Peruano relacionada a la ejecución de un proyecto minero privatizado. El Estudio Echecopar asesoró a las tres instituciones mencionadas y logró que el Estado Peruano tomara las medidas para resolver el Contrato de Transferencia de las concesiones mineras que lo integran.
This is the most significant patrimonial lawsuit that the Peruvian State has had with regards to the execution of a privatized mining project. Estudio Echecopar counseled the three fore-mentioned State organizations and managed to have the Peruvian State take measures to resolve the Transference Contract of the mining concessions that encompass it.
En octubre de 2011, MACSA presentó una demanda arbitral contra AMSAC exigiendo indemnización por más de US $195 millones, por daños sufridos como consecuencia de la resolución del contrato.
On October 21, 2011, MACSA filed an arbitration complaint against AMSAC requesting payment of an indemnity for more than $195 million for damages incurred as consequence of the resolution of the contract.
Una vez contestada la demanda por AMSAC, MACSA modificó sus exigencias, solicitando al Tribunal Arbitral la invalidez de la resolución del Contrato de Transferencia, por ende, su vigencia, además del pago de indemnización no menor a US $65 millones. Por su parte, el Estado pidió al Tribunal Arbitral confirme la validez de la resolución contractual, y ordene a MACSA el pago de indemnización superior a US $265 millones.
After AMSAC contested the lawsuit, MACSA modified its petition requesting the arbitration commission to declare the resolution of the Transference Contract null and void and ineffective; hence, its validity, as well as an indemnity payment of no less than $65 million. The State petitioned the arbitration commission to confirm validity of the contractual resolution, and to order MACSA payment of an indemnity of over $265 million.

Estudio Echecopar designed a strategy for the resolution of the contract with MACSA, verifying that it did not have the required solvency for the execution of the project. We managed to prompt the Peruvian State at taking the necessary measures to resolve the Transference Contract of the mining concessions that integrated it.

>> El Estado Peruano, titular de las concesiones mineras del “Proyecto Magistral”, inició concurso público para subastar el derecho a ejercer opción sobre el proyecto. La Compañía Minera Milpo S.A. se lo adjudicó, cumpliéndose así uno de los principales objetivos de esta asesoría.
>> The Peruvian State, as owner of the mining concessions that comprise “Proyecto Magistral”, initiated a public offering in order to auction the right to exercise the option over the Magistral Project. The Milpo Mining Company S.A. allocated it, fulfilling one of the main objectives of our counsel.
>> Posteriormente, Milpo adquirió las acciones de Inca Pacific Resources Inc., matriz de MACSA, ésta abandonó sus pretensiones, AMSAC hizo lo mismo para garantizar la ejecución del proyecto minero.
>> Later, MILPO acquired the stock of Inca Pacific Resources, Inc., the headquarters of MACSA. In consequence, MACSA abandoned its pretensions and AMSAC did likewise in order to guarantee the execution of the mining project.

Wholesale Supermarket Unimark Arrives to Peru
Con la permanente asesoría del Estudio Echecopar, Supermercados Mayoristas Unimark (SMU) ingresó al mercado peruano. El proceso se inició con la adquisición de la empresa Alvi, dueña de la mayorista peruana Mayorsa. Posteriormente, SMU adquirió los supermercados peruanos MaxiBodega y Don Vitto. Así, este importante grupo económico chileno cumplió el objetivo de ingresar a nuestro mercado, posicionándose como jugador relevante en él, entrando a competir con los demás participantes de este rubro.
With permanent counsel from Estudio Echecopar, Wholesale Supermarket Unimark (SMU) entered the Peruvian market. The process started with the acquisition of Alvi, the company that owns the Peruvian wholesaler Mayorsa. Later, SMU acquired the Peruvian Supermarkets MaxiBodega and Don Vitto. In this manner, this important Chilean economic group achieved their objective of entering our market, positioning themselves as a relevant player and competing with the other participants in this area.

Todas las adquisiciones se realizaron a lo largo de 2011. A principios de año, participamos en la adquisición de Mayorsa a través de la compra de la chilena Alvi. En el segundo semestre concretamos la adquisición de supermercados MaxiBodega y Don Vitto.
All of the acquisitions took place throughout 2011. This way, at the beginning of the year, we participated in the acquisition of Mayorsa with the purchase of the Chilean Alvi. In the second semester, we achieved the acquisition of the supermarkets MaxiBodega and Don Vitto.
Estudio Echecopar enfrentó un arduo y complejo proceso porque éste se estructuró como una compra de activos. En ese contexto, se celebraron contratos, cesiones de posición contractual y documentos para que SMU adquiriera el negocio en marcha; asumiendo los activos, derechos, relaciones contractuales, permisos y licencias de los anteriores propietarios.
Estudio Echecopar faced a complex process since it was structured as a purchase of assets. In this context, we employed contracts, cessions of contractual position and documents in order to assure that SMU would be able to purchase the company as a functioning business; assuming all the assets, rights, contractual relationships, permits and licenses of the previous owners.

Estamos ante un caso complejo, se inició en abril de 1997 y concluyó en noviembre de 2011. Involucró cuestiones técnicas de regulación bancaria, donde el demandante (una persona natural) recurrió al Poder Judicial para que, en ejecución de sentencia, el Banco de la Nación cumpliera con abonarle la suma de US $33,603’984,868.39 por intereses generados por un Certificado Bancario.
This was a complex case that began in April 1997, and concluded in November 2011. It involved technical questions of banking regulations in which the plaintiff (a natural person) resorted to the Court requesting that, in execution of the sentence, Banco de la Nación fulfill payment in the sum of $33,603,984,868.39 in interest generated from a Bank Certificate.

As a result of our work, we obtained nullification of the judicial decisions that designated the obligation of payment of a debt of more than $33 billion, and further questioned—successfully—the expert testimony that brought the debt to that elevated amount; an amount far greater than the foreign debt of the Republic, the totality of exports, and the national budget at that moment.

El Estudio Echecopar asesoró a uno de los principales canales de televisión de señal abierta en el Perú, Frecuencia Latina, en controversia planteada por algunos accionistas sobre ciertos aspectos de la marcha societaria.
Estudio Echecopar counseled one of the principal open-signal television channels in Peru, Frecuencia Latina, in a controversy posed by some stockholders regarding different aspects of company functioning.
Los demandantes solicitaban nulidad de una serie de acuerdos societarios, entre los cuales se incluía un aumento de capital que consolidó la actual estructura de control de dicho canal, así como la modificación de su estatuto. Otro tema en conflicto fue el reconocimiento de actos societarios que buscaban alterar las tenencias accionarias, entre otros. Este arbitraje de carácter multidisciplinario incluyó aspectos de justicia internacional, y su complejidad -aunada a que se cuestionó un periodo largo de la marcha societaria del canal- requirió un gran esfuerzo de las partes y del Tribunal Arbitral instalado en noviembre de 2006. The plaintiffs requested the annulment of a series of company agreements, amongst which was the increase of capital that consolidated the current control structure of said channel, as well as the modification of its statute.

Another conflicting issue was the recognition of company actions that sought to alter stock holding, amongst other issues. This arbitration of multidisciplinary character included aspects of international justice, and its complexity—together with the fact that for a long period the company functions of the channel were questioned— required a great effort on behalf of the parties and the arbitration commission that was established in November 2006. The proceedings concluded in October 2011.

El consorcio Villa María del Triunfo Salud S.A.C (VMT), conformado por las empresas Ribera Salud SA, Mensor Consultoría y Estrategia SL, BM3 Obras y Servicios, Eurafinsa, Ibermansa y Exploraciones Radiológicas Especiales, a través de una Asociación Público Privada (APP) con el Instituto Peruano de Seguridad Social (ESSALUD), ejecutó la construcción de un moderno hospital en el distrito de Villa María del Triunfo. El acuerdo incluyó no solo la construcción del hospital, sino su operación y mantenimiento.

Estudio Echecopar achieved financing through the offer of sale of CR-RPI (Certificates of Acknowledgement of the Right to Collection of RPI—Retribution for Investment in Construction and Equipment) emitted by ESSALUD. These certificates can be transferred freely, and evidence ESSALUD’s irrevocable and unconditional obligation and commitment to make monthly payments of fixed amounts for a period of 15 years to its proprietors.
El trabajo se inició en noviembre de 2010 y la meta fue lograr un cierre financiero que otorgue a ESSALUD la posibilidad de contar con recursos para comenzar la construcción del hospital.

El 16 de octubre de 2008, el Ministerio de Transporte y Comunicaciones (MTC) interpuso una demanda arbitral para ser declarado propietario por expropiación del inmueble de propiedad de OLVICSA, ubicado en el Callao, y de una extensión de 27,873.51 m2.
On October 16, 2008, Ministerio de Transporte y Comunicaciones (MTC) filed an arbitration action to be declared proprietor by expropriation of the property owned by OLVICSA, located in the Constitutional Province of Callao, and extending 27, 873.51 m2.
En septiembre de 2008 se instaló el Tribunal Arbitral que vio el caso.
In September 2008, an arbitration board was established that looked into the case.
El MTC ofreció pagar como valor comercial el monto señalado en tasación realizada por especialistas del Ministerio de Vivienda. El proceso concluyó en agosto de 2011 con la resolución que daba cuenta de la cancelación total de la indemnización justipreciada y fijaba plazo de entrega de la posesión del terreno. Éste sería utilizado para ampliación del Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez.
The MTC offered to pay as commercial value the amount disposed in the appraisal by Ministerio de Vivienda (MVC). The proceedings concluded in August 2011, with a resolution that gave notice of the total cancelation of the appraised indemnity and set a deadline for handing over possession of the expropriated property. The land would be used for the expansion of Jorge Chávez International Airport, Peru´s main airport.

El Estudio consideró que debía tomarse en cuenta al definir el monto a indemnizar, no sólo el grave perjuicio que ocasionaría la expropiación del inmueble, sino la paralización de la planta de refinación de aceite. Otro elemento que se consideró al precisar el justiprecio fue que la empresa debía dejar maquinaria que no podría trasladar a un nuevo lugar de operación.
The Firm thought that, among the factors that should be taken into account when defining the indemnity amount, the serious damage expropriation of the property would present was not the only factor, but also that operation of the oil refinery would be paralyzed. Another element that was considered to determine the appraisal was that our client would have to leave behind equipment it would not be able to move to a new operation location.

Cabe señalar que algunos extremos del laudo (decisión que emiten los árbitros) fueron impugnados por MTC a través de un proceso judicial de anulación de laudo. El Estudio Echecopar volvió a patrocinar a OLVICSA, y en mayo de 2011 logró que la Sala Comercial de la Corte Superior de Lima desestime el recurso en todos sus extremos, de modo que el laudo quedó firme y se cumplió.
It is worth mentioning that some extremes of the laudum (decision emitted by the arbiters) were impugned by the MTC through a legal motion of annulment of the laudum. Estudio Echecopar once again sponsored OLVICSA, and on May 2011, succeeded in having the Commercial Appeals Supreme Court of Lima dismiss the recourse in all its extremes, such that the laudum was final and was executed.

El 12 de diciembre de 2008, el Ministerio de Transporte y Comunicaciones (MTC) interpuso demanda arbitral para que se le declare propietario por expropiación del inmueble de propiedad de Sociedad Agrícola San Agustín S.A., ubicado en el Callao, con extensión de 3’440,112. m2.
On December 12, 2008, Ministerio de Transporte y Comunicaciones (MTC) filed an arbitration action to be declared proprietor by expropriation of the property owned by Sociedad Agrícola San Agustín S.A., located in Callao with an extension of 3,440,112 m2.
En noviembre de 2008 se instaló el Tribunal Arbitral que vio el caso.
In November 2008, an arbitration board was established to oversee the case.
El MTC ofreció pagar como valor comercial el monto dispuesto en la tasación del Ministerio de Vivienda. El terreno sería utilizado para la ampliación del Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez.
The MTC offered to pay, as commercial value, the amount disposed in the appraisal by Ministerio de Vivienda (MVC). The land would be used for the expansion of Jorge Chavez International Airport, Peru´s main airport.

Estudio Echecopar obtuvo una importante indemnización para SASA por valor del terreno, de las edificaciones e intereses devengados por la demora del Estado en expedición de la Resolución Suprema ejecutora de la expropiación, consiguiendo un monto superior al ofrecido inicialmente en la demanda.
Estudio Echecopar attained an important indemnity for SASA for value of the land, the buildings and the interest accrued from the delay of the State to expedite the Supreme Resolution to execute expropriation, obtaining an amount greater than the amount offered in the motion.
>> Luego de un proceso arbitral de casi tres años, el 30 de abril de 2011, el Tribunal Arbitral resolvió que MTC debía pagar a SASA, como indemnización justipreciada por el valor del terreno, las edificaciones e intereses devengados por la demora del Estado en la expedición de la Resolución Suprema ejecutora de la expropiación. Así, estableció un monto superior al inicialmente ofrecido en la demanda. La decisión del tribunal (laudo) quedó firme y está siendo cumplido.
>> After an arbitration process of more than three years, on April 30, 2011, the arbitration commission resolved that MTC should pay SASA, as appraised indemnity for value of the land, the buildings and other complementary deeds, and the interest accrued from the delay of the State, as executor of the expropriation, to expedite the Supreme Resolution. Thus it established an amount greater than the amount offered in the motion. It is worth noting that the decision of the Court (laudum) was final and is being executed.

El Estudio Echecopar asesoró al Banco de Crédito del Perú y a Bancolombia Puerto Rico Internacional Inc. en un préstamo de US $160 millones para financiar la construcción y operación de la Línea de Transmisión Eléctrica de 500 kV Zapallal-Trujillo, de 530 km, que formará parte del Sistema Eléctrico Interconectado Nacional.
Estudio Echecopar counseled Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP) and Bancolombia Puerto Rico International in the syndicated loan for the sum of $160 million to finance the construction and operation of the 500 kV Electric Transmission Line Zapallal – Trujillo, 530 km in distance that will part of the National Interconnected Electric System.
El Estado Peruano, a través del Ministerio de Energía y Minas (MINEM), otorgó a Consorcio Transmantaro S.A. (CTM) el derecho a diseñar, construir, financiar, operar y mantener la línea de transmisión y la explotación de los bienes de la concesión.
The Peruvian State, through the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), granted Consorcio Transmantaro S.A. (CTM), the right to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the referred transmission line, as well as the exploitation of the concession assets.

El Estudio Echecopar definió la estructura de financiamiento considerando las estipulaciones del Contrato de Concesión y las normas aplicables, los contratos que regulan la construcción, operación y mantenimiento del proyecto. También evaluó las características del patrimonio fideicometido, la elaboración y negociación de los documentos del financiamiento y resolvió aspectos regulatorios para obtener la autorización del MINEM para la cesión de obligaciones y derechos de CTM bajo el Contrato de Concesión a favor del patrimonio fideicometido.
Estudio Echecopar defined the financing structure, taking into consideration the stipulations of the Concession Contract and the applicable regulations, the contracts that regulate construction, operation, and maintenance of the project. We also evaluated the characteristics proper to the patrimony Trust Fund, as well as the elaboration and negotiation of the financial documents and resolved the regulatory aspects necessary to obtain authorization from the MINEM for the cession of the obligations and rights of CTM under the Concession Contract in favor of the patrimony Trust Fund.
Estudio Echecopar marca un hito en la manera de financiar proyectos en el Perú utilizando una estructura de financiamiento que aísla los riesgos del proyecto. CTM no asume la deuda relacionada con éste. Así, tanto el desarrollo de sus demás proyectos como su situación financiera no son afectados.
Estudio Echecopar establishes a milestone at financing projects in Peru using a financing structure that isolates the risks from the project. CTM does not assume the debt connected to it. This way, both the development of its other projects and its financial situation remain unaffected.

Los abogados del Estudio Echecopar contribuyen con un significativo número de horas de trabajo al Programa Pro Bono que tiene como objetivo generar un impacto y un cambio en la sociedad, proporcionando asistencia jurídica gratuita a personas en situación vulnerable, así como a las instituciones que atienden a estos sectores sociales.
The lawyers at Echecopar contribute a significant number of work hours to the Pro Bono program. The objective of this initiative is to provide legal assistance to vulnerable sectors or persons.This program seeks to develop a free-of-charge attitude towards persons in vulnerable situations and to institutions that tend to these social sectors that, in turn, generate an impact and change in society.
Nuestro compromiso es también impulsar la mejora de la institucionalidad jurídica en el país. El programa busca desarrollar una actitud que promueva la práctica del Derecho como una herramienta que consolida el sistema democrático y sus instituciones, fortaleciendo un compromiso de responsabilidad social entre los abogados, de acuerdo con las normas del Código de Ética profesional.
We have assumed this commitment with the intention, also, of promoting the improvement of legal institutionalism in our country that promotes the practice of Law as a tool that consolidates the democratic system and its institutions, strengthening a commitment of social responsibility among lawyers in accordance with the norms of the professional Code of Ethics.

La originalidad del concurso Moot, en su segunda versión, y su valiosa repercusión en la preparación académica y el desarrollo de habilidades de los futuros abogados generaron gran expectativa entre los estudiantes de todo el país.
The originality of the Moot contest, in its second version, and its valuable repercussion in the academic preparation and the development of the abilities of the future lawyers of our country generated great expectation among the law students in the country.
Nuestro objetivo es incentivar las buenas prácticas en el Derecho mediante el desarrollo de la capacidad argumentativa de los futuros abogados del Perú.
Our objective is to give incentive to good practices in Law through favoring the development of argumentative capacity of the future lawyers of Peru.
“Construye La Leyenda” Bajo el eslogan: “Construye La Leyenda”, MOOT LIMA 2011 demostró ser un concurso que deja huella en la formación de los futuros abogados del Perú promoviendo además la inclusión al haber registrado la participación de más de 150 jóvenes de Arequipa, Ayacucho, Callao, Ica, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Lima, Piura, Puno y Tacna. Una vez admitidos en el concurso los equipos debieron enfrentarse y defender determinada posición (demandante o demandada) en etapas escritas y orales, demostrando su capacidad argumentativa ante exigentes evaluadores. Los finalistas, un equipo de provincia de la Universidad San Martin de Porres, sede Chiclayo, y uno de Lima de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. El jurado, Fernando Cantuarias, Cecilia Blume, Sol Carreño, José Escaffi, Lorena Carrillo, Martín Moscoso, Madeleine Osterling y Javier Tovar.
Moot Lima incentiva las buenas prácticas en el Derecho mediante el desarrollo de la capacidad argumentativa de los futuros abogados del país. Promueve la inclusión, habiendo participado más de 150 jóvenes, venidos de todo el Perú, en su segunda versión.
“Build The Legend” Under the slogan: “Build the Legend,” MOOT LIMA 2011 proved to be a contest that leaves an imprint in the formation of the future lawyers of Peru, promoting, additionally, inclusion with the registered participation of more than 150 youngsters from Arequipa, Ayacucho, Callao, Ica, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Lima, Piura, Puno and Tacna. The finalists were: one team of girls from the Province of Chiclayo, University of San Martin de Porres and one from Lima’s Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru. The panel of judges included renowned lawyers and citizens such as: Fernando Cantuarias, Cecilia Blume, Sol Carreño, José Escaffi, Lorena Carrillo, Martín Moscoso, Madeleine Osterling and Javier Tovar.
