By Mitchell VanderWal

Calling all ambitious Red Angus juniors looking to take the next step forward in their leadership-building adventures! If you’re interested in running for the JRA board of directors, keep reading below.

The JRA board of directors holds an important role within the Red Angus breed. This team is responsible for motivating the next generation of Red Angus breeders through many events held throughout the year, including:

• Planning and attending both the JRA Round-Up and Young Stockman Program held annually.

• Having the opportunity to connect with Red Angus breeders and represent JRA at the National Red Angus Convention and board retreat.

• Attending multiple Red Angus shows on the national level, such as NILE, NAILE, Cattleman’s Congress,

American Royal, Red Western Classic and many more!

• Meeting and communicating with industry professionals at the Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade Show.

• Recruiting and meeting Red Angus junior members from across the country.

Being on the JRA board can open your eyes to all things agriculture. It can show you pieces of the agriculture industry that you may not have known existed. It can open internship, education or career opportunities that may have never showed themselves to you without this position. The people, places and livestock that you meet, visit and grow with are undoubtedly unmatched. Simply put, if you want to take a bold step into the industry that you love, fill out the application and never look back.

Service to JRA through the board of directors is a tremendous experience.
