GOOGLE CLASSROOM
By Cameron Ison
Looking for a way to connect with other juniors? Or to get resources for your herd, prepare for a contest or create a school project?
The Junior Red Angus Association has developed a Google Classroom specifically for juniors. This is an avenue for you to access informational material, JRA event information, Red Angus Association of America webinars and to stay updated on JRA news.
For example, if you want to learn more about JRA Round-Up, you can go into the Google Classroom and open the JRA REDtalk class. Then open the “Classwork” tab to find the “Junior Red Angus Events” section, scroll down and find the announcement titled “JRA Round-Up | July 10-15.” In this topic, you will find the link to the Round-Up website which includes information such as packing lists, the schedule, contest materials and announcements.
Or, maybe you need some resources to develop a speech on bull selection. Explore the “Red Angus Knowledge” section under the “Classwork” tab. Under this section, subjects such as “Understanding EPDs” and “CowCalf Production” can be found. These materials can be valuable information when constructing a speech about producing the next generation of calves. Under the “Downloadable Images” section, you can also find stock Red Angus photos to polish off your presentation.
Speaking of presentations, the Google Classroom also has a section with tips on how to create and give a presentation or speech. This section is called “Presentation/Workshop Resources.”
No matter whether you want to learn more about the Red Angus breed, write a speech or learn about JRA events, the Google Classroom is a great resource for you to use. B&B
