Lutheran Church of the Redeemer’s Statement of Welcome
We serve a God of abundant grace and generosity Our worship is centered on the invitation that Christ offers at the communion table: all are welcome in this place. That welcome flows through all we do and say We open our arms to everyone who comes to share our love of God and all God’s people. We affirm and value the lives of everyone, including all who have been marginalized by ability, age, gender, gender identity, mental or physical health, poverty, race, sexual orientation, or any other circumstance Let our message be clear: all are welcome to participate fully in the life of our congregation.

Eighth Sunday after Pentecost Pastor Jennifer Roberts, preaching
The theme of the Day
When Amos reports his vision of God judging Israel for its mistreatment of the poor, he becomes a threat to the power of the priests and the king. John the Baptist also speaks truth to power, and Herod has him killed In Herod’s fear that Jesus is John returned from the dead, we may hear hope for the oppressed: all the prophets killed through the ages are alive in Jesus We are called to witness to justice in company with them, and to proclaim God’s saving love
Continuing this SUNDAY our summer worship services will be held in the Sims Atrium. The Property Team has planned work that requires scaffolding that will fill the nave: repairs to our 70+-year-old electrical systems and upgrades to our lighting. They expect the work to take around 6 weeks, returning to the nave in early August. The Worship Team is working to ensure that services in the Sims Atrium are familiar and comfortable
Please join us this Sunday during the 11 AM service as we will be doing a commissioning/send-off for our 14 youth and 3 Adult Leaders heading to the ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans From July 13-16, Finley Love and Deacon Mary will be in New Orleans for the tAble which is a pre-Youth Gathering event that focuses on youth with a wide variety of disabilities We are so proud of them for this opportunity!
