Lutheran Church of the Redeemer’s Statement of Welcome
We serve a God of abundant grace and generosity Our worship is centered on the invitation that Christ offers at the communion table: all are welcome in this place. That welcome flows through all we do and say We open our arms to everyone who comes to share our love of God and all God’s people. We affirm and value the lives of everyone, including all who have been marginalized by ability, age, gender, gender identity, mental or physical health, poverty, race, sexual orientation, or any other circumstance Let our message be clear: all are welcome to participate fully in the life of our congregation.

The theme of the Day

The Tolkien group is taking a break for the month of March while we prepare for a new adventure! We are currently deciding between two books The first is Beren and Lúthien, an extended version of the tale told in The Silmarillion and alluded to in The Lord of the Rings. It’s a story of love, courage, life, death, fate, free will, (and one very good doggie!) that results in a sign of hope for all humanity. The second is The Children of Húrin. It too is an extended version of a Silmarillion tale. It is less well known, but very deep and meaningful. It has many of Tolkien’s favorite themes of love, courage, fate and free will, but the main character often succumbs to arrogance and pride which leads to dark, dark places. Knowledge of The Silmarillion is helpful, but not necessary. Our Fellowship is welcoming and always helps with questions That being said, these tales in particular can be disturbing and are for adults only. If you’d like additional information, call or write Alisa Norvelle (anorvelle@mac.com) or
find me in the atrium We begin our new adventure on Thursday, April 3rd! Fellowship begins at 6:30 and we read starting at 7:30.

Unfortunately, the primary source of federal government to support refugee families invited to the US remains frozen. Refugee families still need your help.
