Second Sunday after Pentecost Pastor Mark H. Larson, preaching

The theme of the Day:

Though Jesus was a devout Jew who practiced his faith, he was criticized for eating with tax collectors and sinners the religiously nonobservant. Jesus criticizes the self-righteous and reminds us that mercy is to be at the heart of our religious practices. God continues to be made known in those on the margins of society, like Matthew the tax collector and the hemorrhaging woman As we gather each Lord’s day we receive the healing that makes us well and sends us forth to be signs of God’s mercy for the world

The Hotlanta Half Marathon will take place on Sunday morning. The course crosses 5th street north of the church and may cause temporary roadblocks Please make sure you allow extra travel time this Sunday. The course map can be found at: https://www mapmyrun com/routes/view/4989645145/

VBS Thank You's

We had an AMAZING week at Changemaker's Lab VBS learning about how God's love transforms us and gives us the power to change the world around us for the better. A HUGE thank you to all our volunteers and staff who stepped up to make this a successful event from planning to decorations to teaching to leading small groups of kids to preparing our facilities to helping with administrative tasks to acting in our daily skits (and more!) It would fill the whole bulletin to thank everyone for the mountain of tasks involved in creating a fun, safe, and faith-filled experience like this for our kids And ANOTHER HUGE thank you to the kids who brought their questions, energy, voices, compassion, friendship, and so much more to this faith community, not to mention the parents who brought the kids! We are already counting down to next year...
