beef and lentil slice The beef and lentil sliced is easy to make, healthy and a delicious way to eat lentils. INGREDIENTS • olive oil cooking spray • 2 slices soy and linseed bread • 2 small red onions • 2 carrots, peeled, trimmed • 450g extra-lean beef mince • 400g can lentils, drained, rinsed • 1 eggwhite, lightly beaten • 1/2 cup Campbell’s Real Stock Beef Salt Reduced • 100g mixed baby salad leaves • 1/3 cup Baxters Tomato Chutney with Red Pepper, warmed

METHOD Step 1 Preheat oven to 180°C. Spray a 5cmdeep, 20cm (base) square ovenproof dish with oil. Place bread in a food processor. Process to fine crumbs.

Step 2 Finely chop 1 onion and 1 carrot and place in a large bowl. Add mince, 3/4 cup of lentils, eggwhite and stock. Mix until well combined. Press mixture firmly into prepared dish. Bake for 30 minutes or until cooked through. Step 3 Preheat a grill on high heat. Place slice under grill for 5 minutes or until browned. Step 4 Meanwhile, thinly slice remaining onion. Peel remaining carrot into long, wide ribbons. Place in a bowl. Add salad leaves and remaining lentils. Toss to combine. Step 5 Cut slice into four pieces. Divide between plates. Top with salad and dollop of chutney. Source: www.taste.com.au

broccoli and tuna rice pie This rice and broccoli bake is a great way to incorporate vegetables into meals. INGREDIENTS • 1 cup cooked SunRice White Medium Grain Rice (see note) • 425g can tuna in springwater, drained well • 1/2 cup grilled capsicum, roughly chopped (see note) • 250g broccoli, cut into small florets • 1/2 cup grated pizza cheese • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives • 8 eggs • 1/3 cup milk

METHOD Step 1 Preheat oven to 180C/160C fan-forced. Grease a 6cm-deep, 24cm round (top) pie dish. Step 2 Place rice, tuna, capsicum, broccoli, cheese, basil and chives in a bowl. Stir to combine. Spoon mixture into pie dish. Whisk eggs and milk together in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Pour over rice mixture. Tap dish on bench to remove air bubbles. Bake for 1 hour 10 minutes or until firm, covering with foil if over browning during cooking. Stand for 5 minutes. Cut into wedges. Serve.

INGREDIENTS • 2 tbs sesame seeds • 1 tbs Hoyts Pepper Colour Mix, coarsely crushed • 1 tsp dried chillies, crushed • 400g chicken breast fillets • 1 tbs olive oil • 420g can corn kernels, rinsed, drained • 2 truss tomatoes, quartered, seeded, finely chopped • 1/3 cup chopped fresh coriander • 1 tbs lime juice • 8 x 20cm flour tortillas • 120g (1 1/2 cups) grated cheddar • Fresh coriander sprigs, to serve • Sour cream, to serve METHOD Step 1 Combine the sesame seeds, pepper and chilli on a plate. Dip the chicken in the chilli mixture to coat. Heat the oil in a frying

pan over medium heat. Cook the chicken for 6 minutes each side or until cooked through. Set aside to rest for 10 minutes. Slice the chicken. Step 2 Combine corn, tomato, coriander, and lime juice in a bowl. Spray 1 side of half the tortillas with oil. Place, oil-side down, on a clean surface. Top with half the cheddar, the chicken and two-thirds of corn mixture. Top with remaining cheddar and tortillas. Spray with oil. Step 3 Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add 1 quesadilla and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden. Turn and cook for 2 minutes or until cheddar melts. Transfer to a plate. Cover with foil. Repeat with remaining quesadillas. Step 4 Cut quesadillas into wedges. Top with coriander sprigs. Serve with sour cream and remaining corn mixture. Source: www.taste.com.au

INGREDIENTS • 1 bunch Dutch (baby) carrots, trimmed, halved • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil • 2 teaspoons finely grated lemon rind • 1⁄4 cup Almond and pistachio dukkah • 4 small chicken breast fillets • 1 baby red cos lettuce heart, leaves separated • 60g baby rocket • 1/3 cup fresh mint leaves • 1/3 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves • 100g Lemnos Full Cream Fetta, crumbled Honey dressing • 2 tablespoons honey • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

METHOD Step 1 Preheat oven to 200C/180C fanforced. Place carrots in a small baking paper-lined roasting pan. Drizzle with 2 teaspoons olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Step 2 Combine lemon rind, dukkah and remaining oil in a small bowl. Rub all over chicken. Place chicken in a separate baking paper-lined roasting pan. Step 3 Roast chicken and carrots for 25 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and carrots are tender. Slice chicken. Step 4 Meanwhile, make Honey dressing: Whisk honey, vinegar and oil in a bowl. Step 5 Arrange lettuce, rocket, carrot, mint, parsley and fetta on serving plates. Drizzle with dressing. how to prepare walls for painting Painting your walls can bring new life to a room. Just as important as choosing the right colour is preparing the walls. We’ll show you a quick way to clean and prepare your walls so that the paint goes on easier and the finished job looks better. Step 1. Clean your walls with sugar soap Making sure your walls are properly clean will help the paint to stick better. A clean surface also stops stains and marks showing through the new paint. For a good clean you need to use sugar soap. Mix up the sugar soap in a bucket of water according to the instructions on the bottle. Put on your gloves and thoroughly wash the walls using the sugar soap mixture. Once you’ve cleaned the wall, dry the sugar soap off using a rag. Step 2. Scrape cracked paint off the walls After your walls have been cleaned and are dry, put on your safety glasses and dust mask and lay down a drop sheet near the wall. Use a paint scraper to remove any flaky and cracked paint from the wall. Use the ladder to reach spots higher up on the wall.

Step 3. Apply gap filler to any cracks Mix the powdered gap filler in a bucket with some water until it is the consistency of toothpaste. Using your paint scraper, apply it to all of the cracks and chips on the wall, making sure to overfill them. When your gap filler is dry, use sandpaper on a hand sander for a smooth finish. Step 4. Seal the gaps in the corners Use a multi-purpose gap sealer and a caulking gun to fill the gaps in the corners of the walls. After applying the gap sealer, use a damp cloth to wipe off any excess. This will also make it smooth and push the filler it into the corners. You may need a second layer of gap filler to finish off. Now your walls are now ready to paint.
