Do politicians think? Of course not.They use the Constitution to justify the folly of turning America into a Bonanzastyle movie: gunmen, with guns at their waists, using them irresponsibly and wickedly. It’s about time we dealt with the First Amendment, which no one seems to care about.Actually, there is no freedom to express your opinion freely on many issues. For example, even in the networks you cannot say

“Covid” without being kicked out with 15 days of punishment... Even if you are a professional!

It is well known that the US represents democracy in the world… supposedly. However, we do not believe in a Supreme Court of Justice, managed by two parties (the Democrat and the Republican, according to their interests). And everyone knows which party each judge belongs to. We don’t believe in Congress. Except for a few, it is chaos. They can’t agree to get us out of this runaway inflation, where a carton of eggs is worth $10 and, until recently, only cost about $2.

And not to mention the presidents: the current one negotiates with “Masburro” and with the Castros. The press is the only thing we have left of the four powers that define democracy. In the past it was called “the fourth estate”, but it has not been what it was for a long time.

For sample, a button is enough. I heard Republican Senator Marco Rubio say that it was “okay” for the press to go one way or the other. Where would impartiality be when communicating or writing about important issues for the world and societies? There are still a few who do their job well, like my compatriot Oscar Haza, Pedro Sevcec, Mariam de la Fuente, etc.

Politicians want to justify more guns, and their public display, in a country where there are more guns than human beings. They ignore the number of children killed by irresponsible driving. Sure, many receive millions of dollars from the Rifle Association. People say that they will continue to kill children, because there is a lot of money involved.

In short, institutions must recover their credibility, politicians have to think and be consistent. We must return to the true meaning of democracy, where the four powers work independently and effectively. We must demand it and use our power. Without us, no politician can win and hold his place.

Los políticos piensan? Claro que no. Usan la Constitución para justificar el disparate de convertir a Estados Unidos en una película al estilo de Bonanza: los pistoleros, con armas en sus cinturas, usándolas de forma irresponsable y malvada. Ya es hora de que nos ocupemos de la Primera Enmienda, que parece no importar a nadie. Realmente, no existe la libertad de opinar en libertad sobre muchos temas. Por ejemplo, aún en las redes no se puede decir “Covid” sin que te saquen con 15 días de castigo… ¡Aunque seas un profesional! Es bien sabido que EEUU representa la democracia en el mundo… supuestamente.

Sin embargo, no creemos en una Suprema Corte de Justicia, manejada por dos partidos (el Demócrata y el Republicano, según sus intereses). Y todo el mundo sabe a qué partido pertenece cada juez. No creemos en el Congreso. Salvo unos pocos, es un caos. No se ponen de acuerdo para sacarnos de esta inflación galopante, donde un cartón de huevos vale 10 dólares y, hasta hace poco, solo costaba alrededor de dos.

Y ni qué decir de los presidentes: el actual

¿negocia con “Masburro” y con los Castro. La prensa es lo único que nos queda de los cuatro poderes que definen la democracia. Antiguamente era llamada “el cuarto poder”, pero hace mucho que no es lo que era. Para muestra, basta un botón. Escuché decir al senador republicano Marco Rubio que estaba “bien” que la prensa se fuera de un bando o de otro. ¿Dónde quedaría la imparcialidad al comunicar o escribir sobre temas importantes para el mundo y las sociedades? Aún existen unos pocos que sí hacen bien su trabajo, como mi compatriota Oscar Haza, Pedro Sevcec, Mariam de la Fuente, etcétera. Los políticos quieren justificar más armas, y su exhibición en público, en un país donde hay más armas que seres humanos. Ignoran la cantidad de niños muertos por un manejo irresponsable. Claro, muchos reciben millones de dólares de la Asociación del Rifle. La gente dice que seguirán matando niños, porque hay mucho dinero de por medio. En fin, las instituciones deben recobrar su credibilidad, los políticos tienen que pensar y ser congruentes. Debemos retomar el verdadero sentido de la democracia, donde los cuatro poderes funcionen de forma independiente y efectiva. Debemos exigirlo y usar nuestro poder. Sin nosotros, ningún político puede ganar y mantenerse en su puesto.
