Part of the proceeds from the book will go to support the foundation that does research on Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma, a highly malignant type of cancer usually found in the glandular cells that line the organs of digestion. And it bears that name because the cells look like signet rings when viewed under a microscope. The author's husband, John Concannon, to whom she dedicates the book, died of this disease in 2016.

About the Author

Adria is originally from Mexico City, Mexico. She graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Monterrey Campus. Adria has also earned an MA in International Relations from the University of East Anglia in the UK. Always a passionate student, Adria also studies Spanish Literature. Literature has always been a dream for Adria and now she is pursuing that dream. It is a great opportunity to review all the literature she has read throughout her life and be able to produce her own. While studying Spanish literature all that knowledge and experience as a Hispanic person, has made her able to recover the values and knowledge that has made this language such an asset in communication worldwide. As a Mexican she is also very proud of her heritage and wants to share the rich history of the pre-Hispanic populations throughout her country. In that endeavor, she also realizes that the importance of certain characters in those cultures has shifted and that equality and inclusion topics need to be included in the literature. Adria has also focused on teaching and writing for younger generations because it is important to include tradition, as well as heritage, as part of their school curriculum; the children and young should be proud of their origin, they are the adults of the future.

De esta enfermedad falleció en el 2016 el esposo de la autora, John Concannon a quien dedica el libro.

Sobre el Autor

Adria es originaria de la Ciudad de México, México. Se graduó del Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey con una licenciatura en Administración de Empresas por el Campus de Monterrey. Adria también obtuvo una maestría en Relaciones Internacionales de la Universidad de East Anglia en el Reino Unido. Siempre una estudiante apasionada, Adria también estudia Literatura Española. La literatura siempre ha sido un sueño para Adria y ahora está persiguiendo ese sueño. Es una gran oportunidad para revisar toda la literatura que ha leído a lo largo de su vida y poder producir la suya propia. Mientras estudiaba literatura española todo ese conocimiento y experiencia como persona latina, ha sido capaz de recuperar los valores y conocimientos que han hecho de este idioma un activo de comunicación a nivel mundial. Como mexicana, también está muy orgullosa de su herencia y quiere compartir la rica historia de las poblaciones prehispánicas en todo su país. En ese esfuerzo, también se da cuenta de que la importancia de ciertos personajes en esas culturas ha cambiado y que los temas de igualdad e inclusión deben incluirse en la literatura. Adria también se ha centrado en la enseñanza y la escritura para las generaciones más jóvenes porque es importante incluir la tradición, así como la herencia, como parte de su plan de estudios escolares; los niños y jóvenes deben estar orgullosos de su origen, ya que, son los adultos del futuro.
