Valentine’s Day is round the corner. People are probably busy thinking how to celebrate it, what outfit or make-up to wear. But here I was splitting hair over what gift I should offer to my Valentine - the reader. Yes! I zeroed in on Kajal Agarwal, who speaks volumes through her eloquent eyes. Of course, we made her literally speak on varied subjects, with the main focus on love. Mr. A. Mahesh Reddy’s life is a success story that would inspire many a young entrepreneur. The multi-faceted Mr. AMR narrates it in his own words. Mr. O. Naresh Kumar of Symbiosis is a man with the gift of persuasive speech, but lets his actions speak louder. He, with great success, comes up with unique campaigns that spur society into action. January saw two such events organised by him - a free APIIC bus shuttle service started between the city and the IT Park and a mega blood camp that collected 1,018 units of blood in a single day, held to mark the Girl Child Day and commemorate Nirbhaya. The largest ever to be held in Vizag, the camp drew a lot of young blood. Congrats Mr. Naresh. While on the region, we have to mention the power woes the industry is facing. It is given the lowest allocation though our Discomm is acclaimed the best in the country. It is not fair that the job-providing units are penalized for using their contracted power (at 6 times normal rates).Why cannot industry be supplied gas-based power without restrictions, especially when it is prepared to buy it? This problem has to be addressed immediately if the region has to be developed as an industrial hub. We welcomed the New Year saluting the woman power. Extending the sentiment further, we introduce a new segment Eve, dedicated to those who made a difference to society. We have two lovely ladies gracing it - Ms. D. Sharvani and Ms. Rekha Reddy. While Ms. Sharvani resolves people’s disputes through her sweet talk, Ms. Reddy, President of FICCI Ladies Organisation and world renowned Ikebana expert, says it all with flowers. After reading the Retreat, I am sure many of you will head to Lavasa and befriend the mighty Sahyadris. Let me not stand anymore between you and our V-edition. Wish you all a wonderful Valentine's Day.

RAMA NAIDU FETED Movie Moghul D. Rama Naidu was felicitated at Hotel Green Park at an event organised by film distributors, exhibitors and Venkatesh Fans’ Association, on his being chosen for the award of Padma Bhushan. SILK EXPO WEAVES MAGIC Silk Mark Organisation of India organised a colourful expo, Silk Mark Vanya Silk Expo 2013 at Swarna Bharathi Indoor Stadium. It was inaugurated by M.V. Satyanarayana, GVMC Commissioner, in the presence of C.S. Rama Lakshmi, Commissioner, Department of Sericulture. An array of saris displayed in 60 stalls won the hearts of many a Vizagite. COLOURFUL VINGNANOTSAV (VIGNAN) As many as 3,000 students attended â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;Vignanotsav,â&#x20AC;&#x2122; a two-day student festival organised by the Vignan Global Gen. School, Thimmapuram. BOOK ON RAJINI RELEASED The book Rajinikanth: A Definitive Biography launch was held at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel. This biography written by Naman Ramachandran was launched by Sekhar Kammula. The author recounts the superstar’s career in meticulous detail besides his childhood days and times of struggle and reveals how a legend was born.

ART WITH A MESSAGE Abstrautistry (Autism, Abstraction, and Artistry) was an exhibition of Paintings by mother and son duo Karuna Gopal and Vikram. The exhibition, held at Hotel Marriott, was inaugurated by cricketer Mr. VVS Laxman and former Mrs. India Shilpa Reddy. The uniqueness of this exhibition was that a mother-son duo came together to celebrate art for the first time in India . Karuna Gopal is the President of FFC - Foundation for Futuristic Cities and her son Vikram is an autistic teenager. She is no medical doctor nor is she a faith healer but she gives that healing touch. In today’s world where many opt to ‘dissolve’ rather than sit and solve, she takes the way out through her wise counseling. Stressing those problems generally spring from misrepresentation and lack of communication, she asserts that right counselling can bring lifesaving changes. D. Sharvani, though a lawyer by profession is better known as a psychotherapist who restores lives with her talk therapies.

Initiation Sharvani always nursed a desire to serve the society. Married to Mr. D. Somayajulu the lawyer son of the former mayor of Visakhapatnam, Mr. D. V. SubbaRao, she quite naturally chose law as her tool to serve society and obtained LLB degree. However, there was a decade-long gap between her studies and practice due to family commitments. Eventually she joined her father-in-law and husband and was passively involved in case handling. Transformation As she was going through the legal cases, especially on marital issues, Sharvani realized that people are rushing to the court’s door at the drop of a hat and getting inextricably entangled in protracted legal procedures. She also discovered that many of the conflicts based on trivia, can be easily solved otherwise and felt the urgent need for an alternative remedy. This is when she came across an organization called ‘Parivartan Career Counseling Center’. “My perception towards family and marriage system changed completely and I could look at it from various angles. Thanks to the short term course I did on counselling skills here,” confesses Sharvani. She decided to take counselling as her profession and reinforced herself with degrees - MA (Psychology) and M.Phil (Counselling Psychology.) Care and Cure Over the years, Sharvani has evolved her own method to get to the bottom of the problems and surface with the right solutions. It includes psychological and personality tests. However, she stresses the most efficacious way is to get the person introspect and analyse his/her own self without being judgmental about the opponent. On a Broader Spectrum Sharvani founded the Kalyan Welfare Society a decade ago as a family counselling unit. However, today it has grown into an institution that imparts training on legal issues, astrology and health (homoeopathy and yoga) with an aim to make the needy aware and self-reliant to handle their situations. The latest addition to the society’s activities is career counselling for the

youth. Right now she is busy pursuing her doctorate. Versatility She is a member of an organization called ‘Kadambari’ which deals with cultural enrichment and also associated with an NGO called ‘Sanskruti’. Beneath her social crusader avatar, also resides a subtle Sharvani who loves to cook and ensure her family gets a healthy diet and thus her kitchen remains exclusively at her disposal. She is also a trained yoga practitioner and a brilliant swimmer who mastered five styles of swimming. On some mornings, one can also spot this pretty lady cycling to her glory on the beach road. Today’s Women Women today are enjoying a lot of independence, says Sharvani. They are well educated, aware, financially better positioned and more successful than their men. Refusing to label it good or bad, she says the new trend works according to the situation and attitude of the people concerned. Often the cause of confrontation continues to be the male ego. Sharvani makes no bones about the fact that women are good at multitasking and they are blessed with a lot of patience and logical thinking. She feels education is the only weapon for empowerment of women. She says, “Education does not mean accumulating degrees and certificates but the knowledge with which she can tackle any issue.”

Advice and Aspiration Though she is disturbed by the present social instability which is leading to broken families, Sharvani has a remedy to offer. “All the members of the family must take time for their kin, however busy they are. Even an hour of quality time would do,” she adds. “The impact of the west is confusing them further. I have no quarrel with their aping the attire. They shouldn’t de-root themselves from rich Indian cultural values and lose our family system,” she stresses. On a personal level, she wants to reach out to every house that is open to her, counsel the members and save many lives from devastation.

behavioural problems due to marital issues between the parents. Ÿ If family gives enough love and

affection, the teenage issues rate will be reduced. Ÿ There should be a single uniform

legal system transcending the religious boundaries.

Management Men can’t be entirely blamed for being dominating. In many cases women are submissive, she says. A woman needs to understand her own value and assert herself. Stating that communication plays a major role, she advises women to choose the right words in the right situation. Women & Safety “No matter how advanced the society appears to be, still in India the women need to be careful to be safe. The market may supply a few self-defense tools like a pepper spray, but there is always a risk of misuse.” She advocates compulsory self-defense training right at the school-level.

Ms. Rekha Reddy needs no special introduction in the context of Ikebana, whether it is at the state level or in the national or global arena. Mastering the art over the past 25 years, the extremely creative Rekha has been teaching, holding workshops and demonstrations, judging numerous flower arrangement competitions and above all held solo exhibitions with unique themes like ‘Tokonoma’, ‘Ikebana and Literature’, ‘Life of Buddha’ [inaugurated by HH The Dalai Lama], ‘From Gloom to Bloom’ ‘Life of Lord Krishna’, etc. Presiding over Ohara and International Ikebana Hyderabad Chapters, she proved that love for nature can open innumerable avenues. Treading a new ground, she recently took over as the chairperson of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO).

Budding Despite bagging the gold medal in M.Sc. (Food and Nutrition), Rekha had to reign in her aspiration to pursue a doctorate degree because of her marriage and eventual expansion of the family with two boys. However, her regular freelance writing stints and delivering lectures on nutrition have kept her connected to her subject. Flowering Destiny had better plans for her. She found herself drawn to this beautiful art, Ikebana. However, she also gives credit to her mother Mrs. Shamala who had sown the seeds of interest in her. What started as a hobby soon became Rekha’s passion. Before she went for advance courses in Japan, Rekha was trained in the art under Grandmaster Horyu Meena Anantanarayan in Hyderabad. red | february 2013 | 68

Debuting with ‘Tokonoma’ at the Jubilee Hall, Public Gardens in 1998, she kept holding exhibitions and was invited to do demonstrations at home and abroad, including Singapore, Belgium, New Zealand, Taipei, Bangkok, etc. Positions as Associate 1st Master, Ohara Ikebana and the President, Ikebana International, Hyderabad, happened naturally to her. Inevitable Thorns Power always comes with a tag of responsibilities, believes Rekha, who says, “What is important is how one meets the set targets. One needs to be dedicated and innovative too, and strike a balance between home and work.”

Priorities or Compromises The initial 15 years of her married life was dedicated to home as family tops her priority list. Rekha did not have to struggle much to be recognized in this world of men as, in her own words, “It was never a journey to reach somewhere in a hurry, nor a competition. My main field of Ikebana also did not have many men in that area of work. Nor was there any compromise but more a matter of priorities,” she states. FLO FLO is a division of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Its past chairperson was Mrs. Pinky Reddy and she along with the earlier Chairs chose Rekha to be her successor.

As the FLO head, Rekha conducts programmes that provide information and create awareness among the women entrepreneurs with the objective of making them improve themselves, their working skills and make them more productive and self-reliant. Spreading Fragrance “Ikebana connects people with nature, creates environmental awareness and more importantly is a kind of meditation as hours of concentration goes into it,” says Rekha. She has students from all walks of life and some of them are attending her classes for over a decade and most of them claim that it is a life-changing experience. “A student says that this art has impacted her so much that even on casual drives, she is on a constant

Affirming that Ikebana provides that healing touch the world needs today, she wants to disseminate the message of nature and friendship through it. Her writings too inspired many to adopt healthy living. Multi-tasking Early bird does catch the worm, is Rekha’s maxim. It’s all about time management and planning. She thanks the facilities like internet and e-mail which help people multi-task. I even indulge in the luxury of a siesta, she confesses. of it,” says Rekha with remorse. However, she is confident that a transformation can be brought in as we have equal opportunities and rights to education and work. “The pace might be slow, but will be steady.” Defining empowerment as having freedom to do whatever a woman wants to do about education, economic independence and other major areas of life, she advocates creating right awareness among women and awareness of women’s rights, but she also accepts that there are a few limitations for women. Inspiration Her mom has been her guide, friend and philosopher though she doesn’t mind emulating anyone who is good. Her paediatrician father Dr. Y. R Reddy, who was Superintendent of King George Hospital in Vizag and later Director of Medical Services for Andhra Pradesh taught her the value of education and simple living. She stresses that life can’t be limited by following only one person. “Words of wisdom from Swami Vivekananda, Swami Chinmayananda, H.H The Dalai Lama, SriSri RaviShankarji and others are always inspirational and enlightening,” she says.

Full Bloom She has introduced a concept where on a monthly basis two Ikebana Chapter members reach out to schools for special children (the recent ones being Ashray Akriti for hearing impaired and Nachiketa Tapovan for underprivileged children), organising demos and workshops. The happiness on those innocent faces is the priceless reward she values most. Rekha’s writing skills received commendable response across the globe. Her Petals & Palette, which has pages juxtaposing Ikebana with M.F. Husain's canvas or conceptualizing of Flowers and Flavors that literally put Hyderabad on the international map, are acclaimed. The latter went for a reprint within six months. The writer in Rekha is making a subtle yet strong pitching with her plan for the next coffee table book.

E xcerpts Valentine’s Day…what are your plans? I will be working on that day. No special break. I think that every day should be celebrated. I love to celebrate the Day with my family and friends, whom I love the most. What does love mean to you? Companionship, friendship and trust. Have you ever been in love? I don’t know. I have only heard of it. Love means a growing relationship. That is what I believe. There is no love at first sight. It is one such relationship that requires stability, a lot of time and effort. Right now, I do not have the time. So, NO.

When will we get to see you and Nisha in a movie together? If a good script comes along, very soon. We were offered a couple of movies in the past, but could not match our dates.

How is Special Chabbis with Akshay Kumar shaping up? Special Chabbis has shaped up well. We are looking forward to it. It is an intelligent movie, directed by a great director, Neeraj Pandey. I play the only female protagonist (a school teacher in the 80’s) in the film..

Between Allu Aravind and Dil Raju - whom will you opt for? I have done more movies with Dil Raju garu and he is like a member of the family. I have had the biggest hit of my career Magadheera with Allu Aravindgaru. So it is going to be a very difficult choice. I choose both.

Has working in Bollywood changed your equations with Tollywood? Certainly not. In fact, ever since my movie Singham released, I have had 5 releases in the south - Businessman, Sarochcharu, Naayak and two films in Tamil.

What is your film lineup for 2013? Baadshah, Special Chabbis, All in all Azaghu Raja and Jilla.

What are your favourite roles and films? Mr. Perfect.

You have been the darling of Tollywood, apart from being one of the best actresses this generation has seen. What earned you this? It is hard work that has brought me this far. Of course, I must also mention good wishes, blessings, love, support and co-operation I receive from my co-stars, family and fans. I have immense faith in God. Not many people know that you started off with a Hindi film starring alongside Aishwarya Rai. How did you enter the film industry? No, I don’t consider that as my debut. I did that when I was in school, just for fun. I had no intentions of entering the film industry at that point of time. I was very young and was focusing on my studies. Movies happened just by chance. My debut film is Lakshmi Kalyanam, a Telugu film opposite Kalyan Ram.

It’s rare that an actress is cast with the same actor twice these days. You on the other hand, have an array of second timers with Charan, NTR, Karthi, Allu Arjun and Prabhas. What makes them choose you again and again? I don’t think that the actors choose me. The script chooses me. Basically

Whopping six movies on your release charts last year! How was it? Yes. 2012 was a very hectic year. All my movies did very well. So, I am very happy about that. I am looking forward to an exciting 2013. You’re branded as a professional and a workaholic. Your comment. I would agree on both counts.

You’ve got a great sense of style. Who is your stylist? It’s a legacy I inherited from my mom. My sister and I grew up watching her.

You’ve got a fabulous figure. How do you maintain it? I eat makkiki roti and sarson ka saag. That is how I maintain it (laughs). Actually I am eating that for lunch right now. I try to do some workout whenever possible.

Can you share your diet secrets? There is no specific diet. I try to avoid carbohydrates at night. So, no bread or rice at night. I try to have fruits and vegetables. There were rumours that you were in love with Prabhas. Is it remotely true? Absolutely not. There is not an iota of truth in it. I have a good working relationship with all my co-stars.

Does that resemble your real life? Not really.

Any role that you should have done? I am very happy with the roles I have done. I am happy that the directors tap my potential to the hilt. I am offered the best. Do you believe in lady luck or hard work? Hard work.

Does modelling boost a star’s image? I started modelling only after I entered the film world. I have endorsed quite a few brands as it comes as a package. This way you can get closer to the audience. Who are the celebrities do you believe are the most influential? Honest celebrities. Like Amitabh Bachhan, Chiranjeevi.

Are you used to the celebrity status which you have? I am still not used to it and behave like a normal girl. It is good to have your head on your shoulders and be humble.

Having placed his stakes in different areas like mining, construction, infrastructure, energy, film production, the ‘owning’ of CCL team, Mr. Reddy has proved that nothing succeeds like success. Though he rules a huge business empire and is honoured with the prestigious Rashtriya Nirman Ratna Award, he remains a simple and down-to-earth person. Being just another successful businessman had never been Mr. Reddy’s intent. He stepped into the world of commerce with a resolve to make a statement. Hence it is little surprise that AMR Group which was established as a partnership firm, turned into a private limited company in less than a decade. Reaching the peak of multitasking, he continuously strives to add more feathers to his crammed cap. Esha Jobanputra meets the business tycoon on a languid Sunday afternoon to get a sneak-peak into his life.

EXCERPTS Tell us something about your life. I was born and brought up in Hyderabad and graduated from Karnatak University, Dharwad (KUD). The foundation for AMR was laid in 1992. From the very beginning I understood that we can reach our goal only through professionalism. Today the company boasts of a Rs.1,500 cr turnover per annum. We are here because of the clarity of vision and the well-measured steps we have taken till date. What is the USP of your industry? AMR India is not limited to one industry. We have had parallel expansion in fields of infrastructure, mining, construction and energy. Every coin has a flip side and so does every business. The mining industry proved advantageous to us as it invariably brings the company long term projects and has a promising prospect as well.

Who is your inspiration? I am self motivated as I have been successful in reaching the goals I set for myself. Who is the one person who you can say is your friend, philosopher and guide? I am an ardent devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba, and He has always been my friend, philosopher and guide. Who is your greatest critic? It is not criticism that matters, but the person who criticises you and the motive behind it. The greatest critic of my life would undoubtedly be Mr. Sridhar, who happens to be my best friend. I know whatever he says, he does it for my good. Why the name AMR and what is AMR for you? AMR simply means A. Mahesh Reddy and it is my extended family and my most prized possession. I have always given my cent percent commitment to the development of the company.

Your company has presence in infrastructure, mining, irrigation and construction industry. Which one excites you the most? As mentioned earlier, the most exciting industry is mining and we aim to become the world’s largest mining company. How is the experience working in different sectors? Working in multiple sectors is always useful and to me, it has been very profitable as funds keep flowing and resources are employed optimally in diverse fields. One sector strengthens another and offsets the other. What is your definition of a smart businessman? A smart businessman manages his affairs with a clear vision. Secondly, he knows how to manage the customer as in today’s world of competition, the customer is the king. The businessman needs to critically analyze what the customer exactly needs and deliver it on time without compromising on the quality.

What has been the turning point of your professional life? (Smiles) Pardon the repetition; it was when we signed the first mining contract. Since then there has been no looking back. How do you manage to multi-task? It is not very easy, but we have a very good team of employees, who are thorough professionals and always on their toes. I keep shuttling among all the companies, holding frequent review meetings, discussing the issues with the employees and regularizing plans for the betterment of the company. What has been the best construction of AMR India? The construction of Tandur Visaka Cements has been one of the best constructions till date. You have proved to be the master of all trades, how did you manage that? Satisfying the customer makes you win half the battle; customers are investments that maximize the returns by giving us repeat orders. Also, delivering quality product on time is necessary to retain the customer and to boost the business. To sum it up I can say that the mantra behind our success is satisfying the customer, besides delivering the goods on time. You have been awarded with the Rashtriya Nirman Ratna award recently. Tell us something about your awards. Awards are good to receive but not very important for me personally.

My award will come when I make my company the largest mining company in the world. What are the vision and values of AMR India? The vision of the company is to be the most admired global infra and mining company for its performance. The value is to accomplish customer satisfaction through integrity, excellence, team spirit and responsibility. Movie production is another field that you have diversified into. What is your take on that? Do you plan to produce more films? I have just produced one movie Shirdi Sai starring Nagarjuna and that was mainly because of my faith and belief in Shirdi Sai Baba. As of now there are no serious plans of producing films.

Owning the Telugu Warriors CCL team adds another feather to your cap. What made you own a cricket team? It is the outcome of my passion from cricket and because it is also a source of branding for the company. Moreover, it is good entertainment to see all the stars on a single platform playing for their industry. Where do you see your empire five years down the line? I see my company as a million dollar company! What do you expect from your next generation? I appreciate if they take over and keep the family flag flying. However, I will never pressurize them and compel them to do so.

Do you plan to enter politics? (Laughs) I have no serious interest in politics but have a lot of friends who are politicians. I closely follow political news. Only time will reveal what is in store for me.

What is the importance of friends in your life? Friends are an important part of anyoneâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s life and for me friendship is very vital. As mentioned earlier my best friend is Mr. Sridhar.

Any unfulfilled wish? I have achieved all that I had desired to and am content with all that I have. No unfulfilled wish.

Leisure time is for? Watching movies.

One thing you would like to change about your life? I would never like to change anything or any part of my life. However, I would like to improve a few things, which I shall do sooner or later. A vacation will be to? I love the whole of Europe, so a visit to any European country would be the best vacation.

What defines your luxury quotient? Luxury is just a state of mind and it differs from person to person. Luxury for me would mean cars as I like cars. What has worked for you, good luck, planning or hard work? There is no luck in business. There is only drive, determination, and more drive. A perfect blend of hard work and planning has worked for me. I firmly believe these two qualities work wonders for anybody.

Does honesty still sail one through in todayâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s time? Of course, it does; survival is impossible without honesty. Tell us something about your family? My wife Radhika is a housewife. I have two sons Nitish and Avish, who study in the eleventh and ninth grade respectively. What is your take on pets? I like having pets; we have two pugs at home named Master and Panther. Pranayama

The best time to practise is in the mornings, preferably at dawn when the air is cool and the mind and body are fresh.

The bowels and bladder should be emptied.

Ideally should be practised after exercises and before meditation. Wait at least two hours after eating and 30 minutes after drinking. Dress in loose and natural fabric.

KAPALABHATI

Find a secluded, quiet, clean, well-ventilated space. Sit in a comfortable position on the floor (a folded blanket, flat cushion or mat can be used for extra comfort) or in a chair with the back erect and the head straight. Vajrasana or half-lotus asana is good. Keep your facial and body muscles relaxed. Rest palms on knees or in lap in Jnana mudra unless you are using them. Breathe only through the nose unless stated otherwise. Note: It is of utmost importance that you learn and practise Pranayama under an accomplished yoga teacher. Stay healthy! Stay young!

Raspberry White Chocolate Cheese Cake

Rum-Raisin Chocos INGREDIENTS 1 dark chocolate bar (120 gm) 1 milk chocolate bar (120 gm) Chopped almonds - 2 tbsp Raisins - 2 tbsp Rum - 1 tbsp METHOD Soak the raisins in rum overnight. Grate the chocolate bars and melt in a double boiler (alternately you can put it on a micro mode of 40% in the microwave for 1 minute and whisk it briskly to avoid bubbles). Chop the raisins and the almonds and add them to the melted chocolate. Take chocolate moulds of different shapes (heart, apple, flower, etc.) and pour the mixed melted chocolate into them. Tap gently to remove the bubbles, if any. Freeze for 15 minutes. De-mould and cover with coloured chocolate wraps (optional).

INGREDIENTS For the Oreo Crust Oreo cookie crumbs - ½ cup Sugar - 1 tbsp Melted butter - 2 tbsp

For the Raspberry Sauce Raspberries - 5 oz Sugar - 1 tbsp Cornstarch - 1 tsp Water - 1/4 cup

For the Cheesecake Cream cheese - 4 oz Sugar - 2 tbsp ½ large egg (whisk one egg in a bowl first then divide in half) Sour cream - 2 tbsp Vanilla essence - ½ tsp Melted white chocolate - 2 oz

METHOD For the Oreo Crust Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix the first three ingredients thoroughly until all crumbs get moistened with butter. Pour into a heart-shaped spring form pan and let it bake for about 7-10 minutes. For the Cheesecake Blend all the ingredients well and add the melted white chocolate. Transfer the cheesecake into the spring form pan with the cooled crust. Bake at 350°F for 20-30 minutes. Set the oven at 250°F and bake for another 45 minutes to 1 hour. For the Raspberry Sauce Boil raspberries, sugar and cornstarch in water for nearly 5 minutes to thicken. Press through a fine mesh sieve to filter seeds. Pour the sauce over the cooled cheesecake and smooth with a spatula. Transfer the cheesecake into a covered container and refrigerate it for at least 4 hours before serving.

It’s a known fact that only good educational institutions can deliver what they promise. With this ideology in mind, Mr. Amar Gontu made his foray into the education sector with Amar Concept School that has reached the pinnacle of success today, with 15 branches and the number is still growing.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Mr. Amar Gontu, the founder correspondent, started the first school (with a student strength of 600 and from classes 6 to 10) in 2008 at NAD Kotha Road. One school led to another and success blossomed further in the name of Amar Blossoms. Later Amar IIT Academy and Amar Residential School were started. Amar has its presence in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Tirupathi and Visakhapatnam. Currently having around 9000+ students (all branches put together), Amar has gained immense popularity.

“All the schools, from Kindergarten to Class X, now boast of well-designed curriculum. It offers CBSE syllabus from LKG to V Standard and State Syllabus/ SSC from VI to X Class. Modern Education should seed ‘the desire to know’ in students,” says Mr. Amar. Hailing from Guntur and armed with an engineering degree from VIT, he came to Visakhapatnam in 2002. With no one in his family remotely in the education field, he took his first step as a zone in-charge of a popular educational institution. Mr. Amar believes that a child must understand the concepts of whatever is taught in class and disapproves the rote method. He believes in education that creates good citizens.

Hence he calls the institution Amar Concept School. Along with wife Chandana who is at the helm of the Primary Standard, he runs the Concept School that today has become synonymous with knowledge, wisdom and performance.
