THE COUNTDOWN
TO THE COUNTDOWN 1. Send invitations early! Until humans are able to be at more than one place at one time, your desired guests can only ring in the new year at one location per year. Make sure your invitation is the first one in their mailbox.
2. Plan activities. Quiet NYE parties make for loooonnnng nights. Photo
walls and booths are a super social way to get people laughing + mingling. Bonus, it marks moments and memories as we pay homage to a year gone by.
3. Keep the music pumping. Stream a playlist or make one that
lasts 4 - 6 hours so your guests don’t tire of the same song on repeat.
4. Pick a palette. This New Year’s, feature the "it" colors of metallics, teal, blush + black.
5. P LAN WAVES OF FOOD. This is one late {early!} party, so make sure you don’t skimp on the food. Plan to bring out 2-3 different waves of fresh food throughout the party in addition to snacks, ending with something pretty hearty around 11 pm.

Finalize the guest list. Leave room for the few add-ons that will pop into your head later!

Conduct a party run-through. Lay out serving dishes, set the table, clean your party space. Not necessarily in that order. Don’t forget the bathrooms!
Night before Run the dishwasher so you can start the day/prep with one ready to be filled!
Day Of
Finish cooking and baking. Set out food + drinks. And finally‌ party on!

CHAI-INFUSED BOURBON + PEAR COCKTAIL SERVES 8 8 oz. bourbon 48 oz. pear juice 1 chai black tea packet cinnamon sticks {garnish} bourbon soaked cranberries {garnish}
Place bourbon + tea packet into a sealed container and close tightly. Steep for 10-12 hours, or to taste. Remove tea packet + discard. Pour pear juice + chai infused bourbon into a large pitcher over ice. Stir until well combined. Serve chilled and garnish with a cinnamon stick + bourbon soaked cranberries.

SUGAR COOKIES makes approx. 3 dozen COOKIES 1 egg 1 cup butter, softened 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1-1/4 Tsp. baking soda 1 Tsp. cream of tartar 1-1/4 Tsp. vanilla extract 1/4 Tsp. almond extract
Preheat oven to 375 degrees + lightly grease a cookie sheet. Set aside. In a large bowl, mix egg, butter, vanilla extract + almond extract until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover + refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Lightly flour your prepping surface. Divide refrigerated dough into thirds. Roll each third to 1/4 inch thick. Cut dough into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Arrange cut outs on a cookie sheet + bake 7-8 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Cool cookies on a wire rack. Once cool to the touch, frost + decorate with your favorite toppings.
