Welcome to the MWR Magnifier!
The new year is recognized as a time for transformation and a new start. At Family and MWR, we want to help you meet your goals as well as share in some of our recent transformations.
Our facilities and programs are part of Team Redstone’s benefit package. Redstone Arsenal Family and MWR has many award-winning services available from Recreation, Sports and Fitness, Child, Youth, and School Services, Golf, Bowling, Clubs, Arts and Crafts, Library, and more!
If your goals are fitness related, we have a wonderful staff at our fitness centers and pools that can help you stay on track.
We want to be your First Choice for all quality of life services. Providing superior customer service is very important to us. I look forward to seeing you in our facilities and at our events in 2016.
If they are financial in nature, visit our ACS team in the Pershing Welcome Center as they can assist with developing a plan to meet your goals. As for us, we would like to welcome you to visit our Library. We have wonderful activities to kick-start the re-opening including Lego® Builders Club, open house, and activities throughout the month. I would also like to invite you to see the new renovations at Challenger Bingo and Arts and Crafts. Additionally, we expanded our lunch and dinner operations at the Firehouse Pub to include JAC’s Barbeque. We have new programing and activities planned for the remaining year throughout all of our facilities. More information will follow on our new website, social media, and e-blast.
For more information on any of our programs or events, please visit us online at www.redstonemwr.com. Sincerely,
Derrick E. Gould Director, Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation

Matt Williams I Call Talladega, Alabama home. I lived in Maryland before relocating to Huntsville in January of 2015. I knew the Links had a good reputation for being a top notch MWR Facility, and I enjoy being at a course that serves the military. The best part of my Job is being around people and helping them enjoy the game. I can honestly say I enjoy my profession, I love the game and business of golf.
Matt Williams at The Links at Redstone
My goal in life is to complete the Professional Golf Management (PGM) Program. I’m currently enrolled in the PGM Program, which will allow me to obtain my Class A certification through the Professional Golfers Association. In the future, I aspire to be a head golf professional at an MWR facility. In my spare time, I love to play golf,
spend time with family, travel to new places, and watch Auburn football. War Eagle!
One day I hope to travel to Scottland and
play golf at St. Andrews. See World War II sites in Europe. Go to the Masters and take a Vacation to the Caribbean Islands.

Quick and Easy Meat Marinade Marinades are one of the most important ingredients to any cookout or meat preparation. Use the following recipe supplied by our very own Clubs at Redstone the next time you need to add flavor and tenderness to your meats.
The Java Cafe saves my day! I know the seasons have changed, although I wasn’t ready to go without my favorite drinks! Not sure about you, but I miss my morning pick-me up Pumpkin Spice Latte. I was excited to hear that the Java Cafe, located at the Pershing Welcome Center, is continuing to offer my favorite for a little while longer as well as the White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha. It is the little things in life that get us through the day and I am thankful for the Java Cafe. See you there. - Dana Thornbury

Easter Brunch at
The Summit at Redstone
Easter is just around the corner and while many of my friends are figuring out where they will eat March 27, its not even a question for me. The answer is simple, The Summit at Redstone. They make it so simple. I purchase my ticket, which by the way is only $30 for myself ($25 if you are a club member) and $12 for my son, and pick my reservation time. I enjoy my morning activities with my son and hop on over to The Summit to enjoy a hassle free, relaxing buffet. The food is amazing every year from my favorites, the salad bar and hand carved specialty marinated flank steak with mustard caper sauce and seasoned vegetables found at the grand buffet, to my son’s favorites, omelets and sausage at the brunch station and of course the yummy desserts! There truly is something for everyone. To top it off, everything is done for you so there is no clean up. The staff is amazing and you can’t beat the ambience. If you want to learn more about the brunch, contact The Clubs at Redstone at 256-876-2582. By Dana Thornbury
