It is a known fact that the Second World War to rack the world has brutally wiped the world of innocent lives, separated people from their loved ones, and done unspeakable damage to their properties. This law opened doors for all people and have legally laid down the rights accorded to them in terms of housing plans and transactions. It also spells out the repercussions and actions that will be taken against landlords and abusers who take unfair treatment and hostile demands to present or prospective tenants in terms of their race, sex, or religion. The law was encouraged and passed during the government of President Lyndon Baines Johnson. This was also enforced several days after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. The Fair Housing Act indicates that equal privileges, terms and conditions, and housing facilities and services be given to all present as well prospective tenants notwithstanding their nationality, gender, or race. Women, especially the poor ones, and any person who possess legal custody of a minor, that is, a child under 18 years of age, shall not be oppressed and has the right to live in an environment that is safe and promotes the welfare of the family. Furthermore, Hispanics, Native Americans, Asians, or Europeans shall have the right to be accommodated to a community or dwelling unit regarding the number of people dwelling there who have the same national origin. This is especially specified because there are landlords and even municipal governments who restrict the number of Hispanics, a steadily increasing population in the United States, who can live in a community.


The law also extends to pregnant women and the handicap or families who care for a handicap. They should also be accorded with the same housing transactions or housing related deals like advertising and homeowners insurance and privileges. In addition to the Fair Housing Act, there are also a good number of government and nongovernment movements and organizations who aim to provide assistance to anyone who feels that his or her rights to be accorded of equal housing plans have been violated.
