Peter currently serves as the Non-Executive Chairman for REEDMININGEVENTS.

Peter van Iersel Non-Executive Chairman, REEDMININGEVENTS

Enhancing your Delegate Experience The conference is the best way to not only gain essential knowledge about the industry but also interact with your peers. We encourage delegates to get involved in the Q&A, roundtable, workshop and panel discussions. We have created a quick guide to ensure you get the most out of these sessions. Q&A and Panel Discussions The Chairman for each session will open the floor to questions at the end of each presentation. If you have a question, please raise your hand high enough so that the Chairman can see you and wait for the microphone to be handed to you. Please state your name and company before asking your question and wait for the full answer to be relayed before asking any follow up questions.

Roundtable Discussions Roundtable discussions are the best way for delegates to come together in a group setting and further delve into a specific topic with fellow delegates. After each presentation, delegates will have the chance to choose one roundtable to further the discussion and ask direct questions to the presenter. Take your time before the roundtables start to identify your first and second choice session to avoid disappointment in the instance that your first choice roundtable is full. Throughout the presentation, be sure to take notes and even record any experiences you might be able to share at the roundtable and enjoy brainstorming with your fellow oil and gas peers.

Free Networking Function If you missed out on asking a question at the conference or haven’t had a chance to meet up with a potential client, there will be an opportunity at the end of day one. The QGCE drinks reception will commence directly after the end of the first day and allow you to unwind and continue networking.

WELCOME TO THE WTIA RELIABILITY AND INTEGRITY WORKSHOP The Welding Technology Institute of Australia (WTIA) has partnered with Reed Exhibitions to run a half day workshop and conference stream on reliability and integrity at the Queensland Gas Conference and Exhibition. In Australia, two important developments have occurred with the huge expansion of costly hazardous pressure equipment and the introduction of new WHS Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice to ensure product compliance for industry and public safety. Thus, initial and continuing integrity and reliability are major factors which impact on economy and safety in Queensland. Welding is an enabling technology utilised in a broad range of industries. Certainly we have a great safety record that we should be proud of, assisted by our Australian Standards and Regulations, Codes of Practice, however there is no binding obligation on State and Territory Governments to adopt these. The WTIA takes a leading role, in conjunction with its many members in the pressure equipment field, in supporting the Australian welding industry through world class technology transfer, welding management for productivity and WHS, training, qualifications and certification of our technology receptors and future leaders. Through its role in the development of Standards and regulatory structure, its advocacy to governments on behalf of the welding industries, its facilitation and conducting of research and development advances, the WTIA is promoting even greater commitment to WHS harmonisation and regulation, and the safeguarding of public safety and the environment not only in Australia, but throughout the world. At the same time this is aimed at higher reliability and economy. As the Australian representative on the 56-member country International Institute of Welding (IIW), WTIA accesses not only leading international technology innovation, but also the latest advances in both personnel and company certification and promotes the management of welding to international standards and delivers training as well as personnel and company certification to support industry around the country achieve these outcomes. The Institute’s OzWeld School of Welding Technology delivers regular training for welding engineers, technologists, specialists, supervisors and inspectors throughout Australia. The WTIA and its predecessors AWI and AWRA, has worked for over 80 years with industry and governments to support all Australian industries utilising welding with research and technology transfer, as well as education, training, qualification and certification to ensure that the people and the companies which make up the industry have the capabilities needed to implement positive change. Welcome to the WTIA Reliability and Integrity Workshop, we invite you to learn more about the safe operation, maintenance, inspection, and integrity and reliability of welded pressure equipment.

DAY TWO: 10:20am -11:00am Monitoring well performance through laser scanning Laser scanning is widely used throughout the world and Australia and can be of great assistance to many, many industries. This can involve a scanner mounted in a variety of manners (tripod, car, boat, helicopter or plane), and allows the user to collect millions of accurate measurements in an extremely short period compared with conventional methods. This data capture will generally lead to a point cloud of information that can be manipulated and viewed in a variety of ways for maximum benefit. These points can often be combined with photography for a “True view” of the data that will allow a user to view this information in a 3d manner and extract measurements and data to assist with short term or long term requirements. Scanned items/ objects or areas can include a road, a mine, a stock pile, building fascia, plant, a crime scene or many other options including as constructed surveys. This can involve measurements at 10m or 6000m. Francois Du Bois, National Laser Scanning Consultant, CR Kennedy & Co. P/L For more information go to www.crkennedy.com.au

12:45pm – 1:25pm Technical workshop: Basis of design and constraints for microLNG plants This workshop is designed to provide an overview of design considerations and constraints for micoLNG plants for both here in Australia and internationally. Particular focus will be on the gas clean-up process, environmental constraints, utilities and logistics.

Duncan Whitford, Process and Project Development Manager, GLP For more information go to www.glp.com.au

2:00pm – 2:40pm Technical workshop: Zero contact, total containment, pitless drilling system This presentation covers the development of ARC’s mobile pitless drilling process which highlights the commercial viability given available equipment, methodology, risk/cost management and achievable outcomes. The ARC system is being developed with the assistance of Commercialisation Australia and in conjunction with QGC’s no harm philosophy. The final outcome will see industries first completions process followed by a drilling process that is certified for use on organic properties. The presentation combines audio visual and practical demonstrations of the various components and their respective features and their operational benefits.
