Bringing the two events together under one roof is designed to make the retailers’ experience more efficient and productive, while increasing connectivity, collaboration and opportunity for the whole industry. “Simply put, this move is what the retailers want and have been asking for,” says Group Exhibition Director for Retail at Reed Exhibitions. “The convenience of two events, under one roof, is more time efficient and cost effective for the buyers, and in turn has the potential to increase foot traffic and diversity in buyers to exhibitors at both Reed Gift Fairs and Life Instyle – a win, win for everyone.” Conveniently located in the heart of the city and walking distance to hotels and public transport, the co-location will provide attendees the opportunity to spend more time on the show floor and cut out the need to waste precious time travelling between multiple venues.
Dates and times remain unchanged, with Reed Gift Fairs Sydney running from 22-26 February 2020 and Life Instyle Sydney running from 21-24 February. Life Instyle is a beautiful trade event for retail. Presenting twice annually, the four-day event serves as a platform for 400+ unique and wonderful exhibitors to showcase design-led products for over 7000 of Australia’s retailers. With a strong commitment to creativity and originality, the event provides an inspiration-filled sourcing experience with the latest curated, edited and local brands – featuring Kids Instyle, Men Instyle and First Instyle.

By Ferry Cruise into Darling Harbour aboard a ferry, with direct services from Circular Quay to King Street Wharf, or Pyrmont Bay Wharf. Both are only a short walk away from ICC Sydney. By Taxi Jump in a taxi and travel to the ICC Sydney. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes from Sydney Airport, 10 minutes from the CBD and 10 minutes from The Rocks. There are two taxi ranks which service the ICC Sydney. One is located in Harbourside Place alongside the Convention Centre. The second is located in Tumbalong Place, between the Theatre and the Exhibition Centre. We offer a wide range of quality products in classic designs – ceramics, tableware, linen and furniture – we’ve got it all! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE CHRISTMAS WHOLESALE SEASON?
Christmas is fabulous! There are so many variations of traditional, classic designs and products, and that presents a great opportunity to have some fun, add some variety and tweak different styles to mix things up! We’re running with a dark palate for our Christmas background this year and its wonderful how it makes a classic white or silver item ‘pop’. We don’t launch Christmas early in the year – but rather save it until we feel our customers are ready to start thinking ‘Christmassy’. This means that sometimes we sell out early of the really popular items we launch in July/August but that adds to the exclusiveness of the range to a degree for our customers.
WHAT HAVE BEEN THE HIGHLIGHTS FOR YOU AS A BUSINESS IN 2019?
We’ve had a positive year on balance – it’s been pretty tough out there for many of our customers and so that makes it tough for us also – but that means we’re all working harder and smarter so it brings some more extra satisfaction to us all. We’ve started working with some great new businesses this year, all bricks and mortar stores, but a few new design and architectural firms also – our range of chandeliers and other lights are really popular! WHAT CAN BUYERS EXPECT FROM YOU AT RETAIL QUARTER SYDNEY?
We love the September fair! We’ve been exhibiting here for 15+ years and it’s a great opportunity to catch up with customers, mainly from NSW, that can’t make it to the National fairs. But we always bring all our new products and ranges to this fair as they always get a great reaction. HOW WILL YOU BE SPENDING THE CHRISTMAS BREAK?
With the kids! I’ll be in Melbourne for our big family Christmas day, and then will head to my partners farm for a week or two – horse riding, chasing sheep and dogs, and just generally relaxing! We’ll likely head to the beach for few days also – Melbourne in the peak of summer heat can be way too hot!
