For the love of dance WHEN Nicola Sabatino was 10-years old she wanted to become a doctor. Fortunately for the dance world, Nicola also discovered the joy of dance at that same age, and has spent the last 10 years achieving her dream of becoming a professional dancer. By Giembra Busmer

GROWING up in Weipa, Nicola Sabatino’s interest in dance was sparked when she joined the Albatross Bay Dance Studio, where she studied dance under Miss Amanda (Seawright) from the age of 10. At 15 years of age Nicola decided to commit to a career in dance and moved to Brisbane to study ballet full-time. After completing a threeyear full-time course Nicola learned of the National Aboriginal and Islander Skills Development Association and enrolled in a diploma course with the NAISDA Dance College on the New South Wales central coast. During her three years at the NAISDA Dance College Nicola expanded her dance repertoire, studying traditional dance, ballet, modern,

contemporary, jazz and musical theatre, and graduated on March 29 this year. “The experience I gained at the college was amazing as we covered such a wide variety of dance, as well as drama,� Nicola said on her return to Weipa for a welldeserved break this week, after completing a season as a dancer with Opera Australia. “I really didn’t know what to expect when I joined Opera Australia, as it was my first job as a professional dancer, but it was fantastic. I had the opportunity to perform one of the lead dancing roles as well which was a brilliant experience,� Nicola said. “I was involved in the Sydney season of the show, so getting to dance at the Sydney Opera House was just unbelievable.� UU continued page 2

Weipa dancer has a bright future UU from page 1

Nicola admits that being a professional dancer is hard work. “As a dancer my body is my instrument so I have to work to maintain it, doing a minimum of one dance class a day. “But it goes beyond doing classes. It’s also a mental challenge and you have to toughen yourself up. As an artist you have to decide what it is you want to say, and how to express that.� Although Nicola said it was good to be home she already has her next gig lined up, as a dancer at the Black Tracks Festival to be held in Brisbane in May this year.

“There are six dancers in my group and I am really looking forward to the festival, which involves a group of independent, Indigenous choreographers who select the dancers they want to work with,� Nicola said. “As a dancer you look for auditions, and sometimes you are lucky enough to be asked to perform.� Not always knowing where your next job is going to come from doesn’t seem to perturb this dedicated young dancer, who laughed “you win some, you lose some,� as she enjoyed her break in Weipa.

Draft oval plan to be presented W E I P A To w n A u t h o r i t y chairperson, Carrie Gay, is encouraging residents to attend a community meeting to view and discuss the draft master plan for Andoom (Eastern) Oval. In March, 2012, consultants Strategic Leisure Group consulted with the main user groups of the oval to discuss their needs and ideas. This information has been used to develop a draft master plan for consideration by the community. “We are asking residents to attend a presentation of the draft master plan and tell us what they think,� Ms Gay said. The purpose of the project is to develop a master plan which determines the best mix of spaces and facilities to meet the needs of the Weipa community, incorporating a written report and a concept plan for the oval. The master plan includes consideration of formal sport and community

events such as field sports and rodeo, as well as informal activities such as walking, children’s play and exercise. Residents are encouraged to attend the community meeting at 7pm on Thursday, April 19 at the Weipa Town Authority meeting room for a presentation and discussion of the draft master plan. Crocodiles spotted at local boat ramps QUEENSLAND Parks & Wildlife Service advised The Western Cape Bulletin on Tuesday that there have been several sightings of crocodiles at Weipa boat ramps. It was reported that a two-metre crocodile was seen at the Rocky Point boat ramp on both Sunday and Monday nights, and a four-metre crocodile has been reported on the southern side of the Mission River Bridge. QPWS reported the sightings to Weipa police and “recent sighting� signs were to be erected. Readers are reminded to take care at boat ramps and around local waterways as crocodiles may be present. Fishermen are also reminded to refrain from leaving fish carcasses or bait at boat ramps which could attract crocodiles.

Following an article in The Fol Western Cape Bulletin March Weste 28 edition, ed a meeting was held in Cairns last week with Volunteer Marine Rescue Gulf Volun Zone ppresident, Peter Graham (Crazy Pete) and his vice (Craz president Paul Poole from presid Burketown VMR. Burk The meeting was held T with senior police at the wi ooffice of the assistant commissioner and the dire situation of the VMR units in the zone V was discussed. w The seven units that ooperate in the Gulf Zone are all suffering from ar lack of funds, and can no lac longer continue to provide long “RACQ-type� assistance to “RA the boating b public as they have ddone in the past. “In short, what the changes mean to boaties is that if you are ou out in your vessel without an em emergency beacon and need assistance, you will be charge charged $600 per hour for a VMR rescue or assistance,� Crazy said. “If you activate your beacon th then there is no charge, as the go government pays all costs incurr incurred during your retrieval to sho shore.� If you y venture more than half a nautical mile from shore shore, vessel operators are requir required by law to have a 406 beaco beacon (EPIRB) on board. “It is often misunderstood by boatie boaties that they need to be in a llife and death situation befor before they can activate a

beacon. This is far from the truth,� Crazy commented. “The beacons, when activated, make the locating of your vessel a very simple and straightforward task, with minimum time spent engaging valuable marine rescue assets.� There are three lines of communication if you need assistance while at sea: 1. If you and your vessel are in grave and imminent danger you should broadcast a mayday and activate your beacon - this is free; 2. The master of the vessel, or a relative onshore, may contact the police directly and they will respond with a police vessel, or VMR, with both alternatives at police expense; 3. If you just need assistance, activate your beacon with no charge to the boatie. Calls direct to VMR will be referred to police for a decision as to who is best suited to respond on the day. All units in the Gulf Zone expressed their disappointment at having to take these steps but with skyrocketing costs for fuel and replacement vessels it is a choice of close the doors or instigate the user-pays system. “It is not rocket science. Spend a couple of hundred bucks on an EPIRB and you are covered for any search and rescue, or for any simple “RACQ-type� of assistance, “ Crazy said. “Even if the task requires aircraft, or it is an extended search, as long as you have activated your 406 beacon it is free.�

Improved croc management plan to be implemented Alf Wilson story & pics

THE possibility of the culling of crocodiles becoming law is a controversial and emotional issue in north Queensland. The culling of crocs was banned by the Queensland Government in the early 1970s, and since then numbers have increased dramatically. Hinchinbrook MP Andrew Cripps, who was sworn in this week as Natural Resources and Mines Minister following the landslide victory by the LNP in the State election, has promised that the State Government would soon implement an improved statewide croc management plan that would be more responsive to communities’ concerns. “I’m very confident that we will present a more responsive framework for the removal of problem crocodiles when they

create safety concerns for local communities. “One of the problems we’ve had is that the previous government, and the previous management plans that were in place for responding were so tied up in bureaucracy and red tape that they ignored the concerns of the communities until it became a serious issue,� Mr Cripps said. Townsville based LNP Senator Ian Macdonald has urged the new State Government to put the welfare of humans ahead of crocodiles after two reports of crocodiles attacking vehicles within a month. “Right across the top of Australia, crocs are making it increasingly difficult for people to enjoy the fabulous natural resources that make living in the North so great,� he said. Mr Cripps said there had

MORE than 2000 indigenous youth from across the country will share the benefits of a $20 million Federal Government funding boost to the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF), which is helping students enrol at boarding schools and supporting them as they transition to university or work. The federal funding has been matched by $20 million which the AIEF has raised through corporate and private donations since 2009, School Education Minister Peter Garrett said. Since the Foundation was formed in 2007 it has helped 240 indigenous youth attend boarding schools in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. Most of those students are still progressing through school but already, 50 students on AIEF scholarships have completed Year 12, with 23 having gone on to study at university and 18 in apprenticeships or other employment. The AIEF is working with the other students to develop and implement career transition strategies to ensure all students are productively engaged after they finish Year 12. AIEF has also provided university scholarships for 32 indigenous students, studying degrees as diverse as medicine, law, commerce, engineering and science, with a success rate of 94 per cent. The students who receive AIEF boarding school scholarships have a Year 12 retention rate of 88 per cent, compared to the national year 12 retention rate for all indigenous students of just 47 per cent in 2010 and the national average of 79 per cent for all Australian students. “There is a strong and growing interest from indigenous families and communities, boarding schools and university colleges who want to participate and we are grateful for the support of the Australian Government and our other partners which is allowing us to help more and more kids,” AIEF CEO Andrew Penfold said.

Hard work and commitment needed by elected members NOW we have all settled into the idea of the Weipa Town Authority election it is time to think about what qualities, skills and experience to look for before voting day comes around. The role of councillor (member) is not a popularity contest; it takes serious hard work and commitment to our community. Weipa needs a collective leadership group that• Have the qualities needed to fairly represent the current and future interest of our community. • Demonstrate experience in policy and goal development, and the implementation of those arrangements. • Are skilled decision makers. My background working with in Government, NGO and community sectors for the past 20

years has provided me with the skills, knowledge and experience in all three categories to deliver that as a part of a sound leadership collective for Weipa. The primary role of our councillors (members) should be to focus on the policies and the delivery of services needed now, and into our future for our community. As community leaders the WTA committee needs to provide our strategic direction, not to manage the internal day-to-day administrative operations of the WTA. The WTA committee’s role is to steer rather than row, so that Weipa benefits from both social and built infrastructure, services and resources, now and into our future. As a community there is a fantastic opportunity at a ‘grassroots’ level for the WTA committee, and the community, to really provide the direction, and the tools to deliver on our Weipa Community Plan. Individually and collectively, our councillors (members) will be accountable to the community of Weipa that they will serve. When you vote on Saturday, April 28, look for the candidate/s that have the capacity to perform the role with integrity, responsi-

bility and commitment. A councillor (member) must serve the overall public interest of the whole community, not just a particular interest area or group. I AM sure that everyone agrees with me when I say that every man and his dog have a quad bike to run around chasing the feral animals and for leisure. This is all well and good, but everyone must remember that when riding a quad bike you need to abide by the rules. There is still an alcohol limit when riding your bike, this limit is stated on your drivers licence. If you have an open licence your limit is 0.05 and if you are on your P-plates your limit is 0.000. As everyone knows you are not allowed to ride your unregistered quad bike on the road, which also includes across the road because you are too lazy to push it across. This also includes a road-related area. A related area consists of a footpath, open for the public as a designated use for cyclists or animals and an area which is open and used by the public for parking. So please keep that in mind when you take your bike for a ride somewhere, because if you are caught riding your bike in those areas you will be fined. We are also having issues with noise from motorbike/quad bikes. If Police deem that a person in making too much noise on a bike they can be issued a direction to stop riding the bike. If the offence continues the bike could be seized and the rider will be going to court. We don’t have an issue with people owning or riding quad bikes but please keep in mind the rules and regulations which everyone has to abide by.

A couple of drink drivers have been caught and several speeding tickets have been issued, but overall a good job.

Road closure The Peninsula Development Road is still closed at the present time. I would like to take the time to advise everyone that if you wish to travel away during the school holidays you will need a permit to travel on the road. You can apply for these permits at the Weipa Magistrate Court House or online. Please don’t leave it to the last minute and all run into the courthouse and request a permit from Col and Margie, as they only have two arms and can only do a certain number a day. So, if they don’t serve you in time that is your own fault for lack of planning, and you should be smarter and get in at the beginning of the wet season. The permit lasts for the whole of the wet season, unlike before when you had apply for a permit every time you wanted to travel on the PDR.

I am a little disappointed in relation to the rubbish which was left at the Putts Palms over the weekend. There were several used nappies, empty XXXX Gold tins and full rubbish bags. I found this quiet disappointing. If you take the effort to put the rubbish in a bag, well I am sure you can put it in your car and take it home or put in A BIN. If it fitted in your car to get to the park I am sure it can fit in your car for you to take it home. I don’t care if it’s not your rubbish, everyone should take the time and put a little bit in the bin, after all it is the right thing to do. I am sure if your child Road safety school holidays gets cut from a piece of aluminium or a I would like to congratulate the broken glass bottle you will have your majority of people in town for their say. So we should prevent anything fantastic effort in doing the right thing like this happening and don’t leave our for road safety. rubbish behind.

THE Lord was very angry when he saw the ungodly things that were going on in the grounds of the Temple, an area that was set aside for people to worship God. For Jewish and Gentile believers in Jesus today, the Temple is a whole lot closer to home, because as 1 Corinthians Ch 6 v 19 says, “Don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and who was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself but to God;…” It stands to reason then that God would want us to stay away from sins like sexual immorality because our body is holy ground, or we would be no different to the money changers and

pigeon sellers! In Mark Ch 11 verses 27-33 the chief priests and teachers of the Law and the elders asked the Lord about where he got the right from to whip the people out of the Temple as he did. The Lord showed that once again no one could outsmart him when it came to the Law, and his answer left them frustrated. When questioned about where he got his authority the Lord answered, “I will ask you just one question, and if you give me an answer, I will tell you what right I have to do these things. Tell me, where did John’s right to baptise come from : was it from God or from human beings? They started to argue

among themselves: “What shall we say? If we answer, ‘From God,’ he will say, “Why, then, did you not did you not believe John?’ But if we say, ‘From human beings…’ (They were afraid of the people, because everyone was convinced that John had been a prophet.) So their answer to Jesus was, “We don’t know.” Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you, then, by what right I do these things.” Contrast the Lord’s very clever debate here with his silence in Mark Ch 15 vs 2-5. Cape York views from outer space THIS image (below) of the Coral Sea and the Great Barrier Reef was taken on April 4 this year. The reef is the world’s largest coral reef system, composed of over 2900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2600 km over an area of approximately 344,400 km2. The reef structure is composed of and built by billions of tiny organisms, known as coral polyps. A large part of the reef is protected by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, which helps

to limit the impact of human use, such as fishing and tourism. Other environmental pressures on the reef and its ecosystem include runoff, climate change accompanied by mass coral bleaching, and cyclic population outbreaks of the crown-of-thorns starfish. Climate change, pollution, crown-of-thorns starfish and fishing are the primary threats to the health of this reef system. Other threats include shipping accidents, oil spills, and tropical cyclones. JUST before Easter I was telling you about the implications that the sweets may have on your health. In this week’s column I would like to educate you a bit further. Now that the temptation of having Easter sweets has subsided, it is a perfect time to signiďŹ cantly reduce sugar in your diet. Recently there has been a lot of hype about a book called Sweet Poison, by David Gillespie, which I have read, along with his other book Sweet Poison Quit Plan. You can read the whole book for yourself or just follow the message: “don’t eat sugarâ€?. Basically the book talks about the effects of sugar on your overall system, how sugar may not only make us fat, but unhealthy as well. I think it is a great read and I’ve learned from it in some parts, yet I don’t agree with cutting out sugar as a whole. Even though Gillespie does present a lot of research that suggest that honey, fruit sugars and brown sugar have many health implications, I see a great value in eating fresh fruit, and no harm in having a tablespoon of honey every once in a while. He also suggests consuming diet drinks and some artiďŹ cial sweeteners, which I believe may have a lot stronger health implications than sugar, however Gillespie’s books mainly focus on weight loss and less on other healthy issues.

Moderation may be the success to a healthy and happy life, and I cannot be convinced fresh fruit is bad me. There are several types of sugars. The ones focussed on in “Sweet Poisonâ€? are Fructose and Sucrose (which is a combination of the three simple sugars we ďŹ nd in table sugar and most sweets). What surprised me the most, and may be an eyeopener for you as well, is to learn how highly addictive sugar actually is. Being a sugar-holic is not something that is to be taken lightly. A Princeton University team actually found that lab rats are as likely to be addicted to sugar as they are to heroin. Even though we may think it is the taste that makes us addicted to the sugary foods, studies suggests otherwise. It is actually a chemical process in your brain that makes you crave sugar more and more. I would like you to consider this when having your next sugar-filled energy drink, chocolate bar, lollies, juices, flavoured dairy products, biscuits or when buying your children the sweets they like so much. Reducing sugar, especially the reďŹ ned and hidden ones in packaged foods and sweets, may become an option, not only for your health and wellbeing, but especially for your children who may well be strongly addicted to sugar by the time they reach school age. As we know now, this may

result health implications and /or obesity. Gillespie suggests there are several ways to cut down on your sugar intake: • Have the right attitude – understand you are making this change to live a longer, fulďŹ lled life. This is for your own beneďŹ t as well as for your family, kids, and grandchildren. • Eliminate habits associated with sugar consumption – if you drink coffee (especially sugar-laden ice coffees) with sugar; stop drinking coffee. If you work, study ‘til late at night and have to get up with a “Vâ€?, go to bed and sleep instead. There are so many healthy foods, fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts and meats that you can add to your diet, your taste will change and you will never return to the packaged, processed foods. Gillespie also mentions in his book that, once you are a sugar-holic you are always are going to be a sugar-holic. From my own experience, having cut out refined sugar and most processed foods from my diet, I can occasionally have sugary drink like a juice or a cocktail, and eat processed foods at restaurants and ďŹ nd it a lot less tasty, satisfying and hard to digest. This keeps me away from most of it, hopefully long-term.

Getting down and dirty in the garden YOU may not have thought of the humble backyard as a good place to find a mate and get down and dirty, but for earthworms it is ideal. After autumn rains, lots of tiny earthworm eggs and baby worms are going to appear in your soil. It’s easy to be a Buddy to earthworms, and the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife wants to let you know how. “Earthworms can breed every 7-10 days if conditions are right

They breathe through their skin and can only do this when moist, so that’s why they spend most of their time underground where it is damp and cool and evaporation isn’t such a problem. • Earthworms don’t have eyes but they can detect light through special tissues near their heads. • Earthworms emerge from the soil at night when it is dark and they are less likely to dry out. • Earthworms don’t have teeth—instead tiny stones swallowed by the worm help it to grind up its food very thoroughly. • Earthworms are hermaphrodites, meaning they have both male and female organs, but they still need another

worm in order to reproduce. • Earthworms lay eggs which hatch after about three weeks. • Earthworms have three to five hearts and need all to survive. • Australia is home to around 300 species of native earthworm, and many introduced worm species too. “Look for earthworms in the garden just after rain. Earthworms come to the surface during this time to find food and mates, without fear of drying out. If you’re raking leaves, re-potting a plant or digging up the garden, you should see them now. Generally speaking, you’ll see more earthworms during the wetter months, particularly during autumn and spring,” said Mr Corbett.

or discourage them so that they go elsewhere. A garden with no earthworms is a sign that the soil has become unhealthy or even polluted. • If you have recently wormed your pet, collect any droppings from the garden and put them in the bin, as these chemicals can also kill earthworms. • Worms don’t like strong flavours like citrus, pineapples, chilli, onions, garlic, or shallots. Fats, oils and dairy products should also stay out of the compost as worms won’t eat them.

Proud to be a Queenslander HOW good is it to be a Queenslander? It makes me laugh when I read about Kiwis being available for State of Origin selection. Let’s get one thing straight. I’m not racist, but how can a New Zealander play for our beloved State? It makes my stomach rumble when I hear about these great players looking for a way in to a honourable Maroons jersey. The Origin concept was set up for Queensland and New South Wales players only, and it will always remain that way as far as I’m concerned. With only five weeks until the first State of Origin game the banter is already starting to build up and I can’t wait to see the mighty maroons team win their seventh title in seven years. Round six of the NRL was another exciting round of football which saw some very interesting results. The Broncos are looking very good at the moment with a very classy win over the Tigers. The Rabbitohs just beat a determined Bulldogs outfit in a great

Good Friday clash in Sydney. On Super Saturday the Roosters and Titans battled it out in a scrappy affair, with the Roosters crowing over the troublesome Titans. The Sharks certainly have their bite back with a solid win over the Dragons. Easter Sunday was another successful day for the Storm as they overpowered the Cowboys. The Raiders finally won at home against the Warriors, while the Knights were too good for the Eels. Monday night footy saw Giembra’s team, the hated Sea Eagles, go into war against the prowling Panthers, and come out convincing victors with a 30 to zip scoreline. The Northern Pride suffered a third successive loss against a very determined Capras team from Rockhampton, but I’m sure the boys will be back in the winner’s circle this week with a good win over Tweed Heads, which will be televised on Imparja at 2 pm on Sunday arvo.

Scotty’s AFL round-up SO with the odds stacked against him the Bald Eagle gathered the pill with one hand at full tilt, swept out the back of the pack, and unloaded towards the 50 with the biggest load of dribble to grace these hallowed pages since the Stokesy debarkle of 2011. I appologise profusely, dear reader, for subjecting you to such one-eyed West Coast Eagles loaded repartee in response to my carefully measured request for some back-up in a time of great need. (Basically there was no way I was going to make the press early last week unless someone wrote something). But I guess I should be grateful and allow the Bald Eagle one foray into print. After all, I feel sorry for a bloke who was once such a one-eyed Bomber (he was wearing the number 18 of Paul Van Der Haar on the back of his standard Victorian family issue duffle coat while he stood in the forward pocket of Windy Hill and saw Lethal Lee Mathews knock the point post over with his bare head), yet now finds himself such a parochial

Sandgroper that he feels compelled to barrack for the Weagles. I think he is beyond help. Speaking of help, what can we do about Melbourne? I noticed even Eddie the Head has come on the tele and prophesized about some sort of plan to replace the sponsor they lost. Geez they need a hand and they are looking every bit as ordinary on the field as off. Also struggling for help a bit this week is the poor old dog catcher down at Head Office. Now, I think we all appreciate the job that gets done down there, and keeping the streets clear of rogue canines on a mission of damage and destruction is good for all feline and young humans alike. But when I set the challenge some weeks ago, and set the odds at 5-1 that he couldn’t catch our resident three-legged Beagle version of Harry Houdini I didn’t think it would take long until I received a call to say she’d been rounded up and locked away for her own safety. (The thing gets out every week). Well the weeks have gone by,

Matilda keeps getting out and pert near thumbs her nose at Authority, yet to be caught. So imagine my surprise this week when I get a happy snap sent through on the phone showing the three-legged culprit down at the library overseeing the show and supervising the dog catcher checking in overdue library books and reading stories to the kids. She has him wrapped around the Polydactyly on her one remaining hind leg. The odds of capture have blown out to 10-1. Onto the footy...and after the highlights in round one, it has to be said that if it wasn’t for the now traditional Hawks v Cats ball tearer the weekend would have been a bit of a let down. Lots of blow outs, the new kids in the expansion teams are in for a winter as long and as tough as the Nazis faced in Russia in 1942, and the standard expected for mark of the year seems to get raised week after week. Cape York under-12 rugby league Peninsula side named CAPE York will be represented by 20 under-12 rugby league players at the upcoming Peninsula trials. The team will travel south to play a tour game against Balaclava State School on Wednesday, April 18, followed by the Peninsula trials to be held in Innsifail on April 19, where they will be vying for State representative selection. The team has been trained by Jacob Giggliotti, who will be accompanied to the Peninsula trials by Mapoon teacher Ryan McIntyre (team manager) and Kowanyama teacher Shane Fixter (team sports trainer). If selected in the representative side players will go on to play at the State titles to be held on the Sunshine Coast. The team includes the 15 players featured on this page along with Greg Hudson from Mapoon, Cameron Hudson from Lockhart River, Craig Goggleye, Fitzroy Lawerance and Michael Zingle from Kowanyama .

EASTER has passed again for another year. It was bit disappointing the Penne Road was closed, but we take it in our stride. We had glorious weather over the Easter break and I even managed to get out with Pirate, and caught a few down Redcliffs way. I received a few snaps of proof from other anglers, including Sharon Hilton with a scarce Gold Lined Morwong, and Gavin and Steven Wust who picked up a couple of different species of Morwong (I am yet to identify) while doing some shore-based y ďŹ shing. A lot people call these Mother In Law ďŹ sh, but a bit of lemongrass butter brushed over a fillet while frying in garlic olive oil will make any ďŹ sh taste great. Some extra-large Spanish Mackerel patrolling off the edges of most rocky shoals, including Pera and Thudd. You will need some quality tackle if you want to land them though, as some are over the 20kg mark. We hooked up on some monster pick handles, which were in pack and wouldn’t leave us alone. The couple we landed were around ďŹ ve-foot long. Heard some good yarns from those who fished Duyfken. Plenty of Tuskies and Fingermark but you couldn’t get them past the Sharks. One of my regular customers was telling me that where he comes from they use an electric reel and Sharks have problems keeping up. Daiwa

This year’s sevenround motocross series is starting earlier than in past years, which means Brock and his dad Shane were faced with a difficult trip down the still-closed Peninsula Development Road to attend the first race. Shane approached Jo and Rob Jeffrey at Sea Swift to see if they could help out, and they were more than happy to donate transport for the bike on one of their vessels until the road is opened. “The road is in pretty bad shape so it would have been a long, hard trip south, with very little time for Brock to prepare for the races,� Shane said. “Thanks to Sea Swift we can now fly down with time to spare and know that the bike will be arriving safe and sound.� Tw e l v e - y e a r o l d Brock raced in the 65cc class last year in the TNQ Championships series, finishing in 10th
