More than fifty years have passed since Catherine D’Arcy Trefethen ’69 graduated from Regis, but she is thrilled to say that her friendships with classmates are still growing.

“My experience at Regis and the lifelong friends I gained is what inspires me to give back to Regis,” Trefethen says. “Regis to me means love, loyalty, and friendship.”

Along with the many friendships motivating her generosity, Trefethen also notes the many ways in which Regis stands out from other schools.

“These achievements sent me over the moon,” Trefethen says. “I couldn’t be prouder.”

Trefethen credits her time at Regis for helping her evolve into the person she is today, instilling values such as faith, trust, and honesty that she has carried with her throughout her life.

“I'm grateful for learning to have an open mind and accept new ideas,” Trefethen says of some of the life lessons she learned at Regis. “That's what life is all about: exploring new ideas, new thoughts, and drawing logical conclusions.”

Trefethen finds herself passing the Bethany Home for the Sisters of Saint Joseph during her weekly commute and takes this special time for an important reflection.

“Each time I pass the home I bless myself, wish the good Sisters well, and thank them for the wonderful education and lifelong friends they've given me,” shares Trefethen.

Her advice to current students? “Trust your heart and your instincts. With the knowledge you will gain at Regis, these components should serve you well!”
