LET IT SHINE VIRTUAL REGIS GALA

DEAR FRIENDS: Welcome to the fifth Let It Shine Gala and thank you for being with us this evening. It certainly feels a little different than usual behind our computer screens, but I am grateful nonetheless that we can be “together” celebrating and supporting Regis. The truth is your support this year is more critical than ever. Despite not being able to host an in-person gala, so many of you stepped up to continue the incredible generosity we have seen from folks over the past four years. Let It Shine has raised more than $3.5 million for student scholarships since its inception thanks to donors like you, and we look forward to adding to that impressive total tonight! And this evening we honor an incredible group of Regis alums, students, and faculty—the health care heroes who fight for us every day on the front lines of the pandemic. These health professionals always pour their heart into their work, but now as we battle COVID-19, their bravery and perseverance has reached an all-time high as they put their own well-being on the line to care for patients. We are so fortunate to have people like them in this world, and I am immensely proud that more than 6,000 of these heroes are Regis alums. It is times like these I am reminded how grateful I am to be the leader of such an extraordinary university. Every day I see the impact of your gifts, and knowing that our current students will soon join our accomplished alumni family thanks to your support warms my heart. Supporting these scholars today means we'll all have a brighter tomorrow. So thank you for joining me in giving generously to help the entire Regis community shine. I hope you and yours stay well. With sincere gratitude, Antoinette M. Hays, PhD, RN President

HONORING HEALTH CARE HEROES

LET IT SHINE VIRTUAL REGIS GALA

Regis College has nearly 6,000 nursing alumni and other health professionals around the world, and about 600 new nurses graduate each year from the university. Many Regis alumni, faculty, and students are working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Regis salutes and thanks these health care heroes for their bravery and hard work to keep our communities safe.

“

These times are trying, but we continue to move forward and we will all come out stronger and better because of it. Regis has blessed me with the ability to be able to go to work as a nurse every day to make a difference and to do my part, and for that I am forever grateful. $25,000 SHINING STAR SCHOLARSHIPS Provides partial-tuition scholarships for exceptional students, many of whom are the first in their family to attend college and otherwise wouldn't have the means to further their education—especially at a private, Catholic university. $10,000 MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS IN MEMORY OF SISTER THÉRÈSE HIGGINS, CSJ, '47 Students with a consistent GPA of 3.2 or higher (historically the average GPA of recipients is 3.8) who value the CSJ ideals are selected for these awards in memory of the former Regis president. $5,000 MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS IN HONOR OF SISTER JEANNE D'ARC O'HARE, CSJ, '39 Sister Jeanne's legacy as the sixth Regis president was her dedication to community building, a component of the Regis experience that is still so important today. Students who receive this scholarship not only excel academically, but also socially as members of the community who give back to the university by making its campus a positive and rewarding place for all.

$2,500 BRIDGING THE GAP College tuition all over the country is at an all-time high; there are so many Regis students who receive scholarship or aid in order to subsidize their education costs. Your gift can bridge the gap for students who have proven their potential but need just a little extra funding to graduate. $1,000 SHARING OPPORTUNITIES Gifts of all amounts make a tremendous difference in Regis' ability to offer scholarships to deserving students. For decades, Regis supporters have been sharing generation of leaders. Collective support at this level adds up to provide Regis the funding it needs to support students.
