Spring Semester Final Exam Care Packages to Support South Dakota Service Trip One of the pillars of a Regis experience is our service-immersion programs. Students travel domestically and internationally in the spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph to live the Regis mission of serving our dear neighbor without distinction. As final exams approach, Regis continues its tradition of selling Final Exam Care Packages. The cost of the care package is $25, which includes study supplies and snacks. To order please go to regisfinalscarepackage or use the QR code below. From May 26 to June 2, 2018, 16 first year students, two sophomore student leaders, and four staff members will be in La Plant, South Dakota working with on Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation (CRST) through the Simply Smiles organization. From now until we leave, the group is learning about the history of America’s Native People and the current realities of the Lakota People who live on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation. The poverty on the Reservation is staggering, which drastically influences the young Lakota people’s ability to imagine any future. Regis’ team will spend the week running daily summer camps and youth enrichment programs. We will share community meals with the CRST and work to understand the culture. As we prepare for the trip, we are fundraising to alleviate some of the cost of our travels. We are grateful for any and all support you can give that helps us make this trip possible. For more information about Simply Smile’s work in South Dakota, please visit: simplysmiles.org/cheyenne-river-siouxreservation. We thank you in advance for your support of our service-immersion program. Orders are due by Tuesday, April 24, 2018. If you have any questions, please email jeffrey.marcano@regiscollege.edu.
