TYPES OF FINANCIAL AID There are many different options for meeting your financial need. You may receive assistance from state, federal, school, and private sources. Some need to be paid back, while others do not. DO NOT NEED TO BE REPAID:
Merit scholarships* Four-year undergraduate merit scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement. Students do not need to apply separately for a merit scholarship and are informed of their award at the time of their acceptance. Merit scholarships are awarded to entering full-time, first-year and transfer students only.
Grant programs Students who qualify may be awarded need-based institutional, federal, and state grants. Students must complete the FAFSA to determine eligibility. These include Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, MASS Grants, and other state scholarships.
Work-study Students can earn money by working in offices or departments on campus through Federal Work-Study (FWS). Earnings from work-study are not deducted from semester bills, but help students pay for expenses they might incur during college. You must complete the FAFSA to determine your eligibility for a work-study position.
Regis programs and scholarships Regis has several special scholarship programs. Students may be eligible for additional aid. Learn more at regiscollege.edu/scholarships
Yellow Ribbon Program and GI Bill funding Regis is proud to participate in the Post-9/11 GI Bill Yellow Ribbon Program. Qualified veterans and their dependents are eligible for this benefit. Regis can contribute up to half of any tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate, and the Veterans Administration will match the amount.
NEED TO BE REPAID:
Federal loan programs Unlike grants and scholarships, loans must be repaid. Students must complete the FAFSA to be eligible. Types of loans available include Direct Subsidized Loans, Direct Unsubsidized, and Direct PLUS (Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students).
*Merit scholarships for students enrolled in the Fast Track program apply to the fall & spring semesters only.
