Environmental Sustainability Students in the environmental sustainability major learn to recognize and analyze complex relationships among social, human, health, and environmental systems. Using a systems-based approach, students study the ways in which environmental issues touch all aspects of our lives, from population shifts and climate change, to human security and public health. With the “green economy” a growing area of employment, graduates of the program can find jobs in local/state government, the non-profit environmental sector, or in industries working to lessen their impact on the environment.
Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities The interdisciplinary humanities program allows students to develop a focused, self-directed course of study reflecting their career interests. Rooted in key transferrable skills desired by employers, including creative problem-solving and cultural awareness, students take a core set of courses before focusing on an area of the humanities most relevant to their interests. Focus areas include politics and global studies, creative and performing arts, and the growing area of medical humanities. Graduates from
