Team Philosophy
The philosophy of the Boys Swim & Dive Team at Regis Jesuit High School is to maintain the highest level of excellence in the sport of swimming and diving and in all aspects of life. Our goal is to be the best team in the state of Colorado and to be among the best teams in the country. To achieve this goal, we aspire to maintain the following objectives: 1. Focus on academics as the top priority. 2. Involve as many students as possible in a fun, safe, challenging and rewarding experience. 3. Have every swimmer and diver achieve lifetime best performances every season. 4. Keep hard work, mastery of fundamentals and selfless attitudes as the trademarks of the program. 5. Make every effort to secure college scholarships for senior swimmers and divers. 6. Following the Jesuit tradition, we look to provide an atmosphere where a young man can be challenged physically, mentally, spiritually and socially. Swimmers and divers are encouraged to take part in a variety of pursuits. 7. Model attitudes of confidence and avoid attitudes and displays of cockiness. 8. Swim and dive at the highest level of competition possible as designated by CHSAA classification guidelines. 9. Maintain a program free of drugs and alcohol. Swimming and diving are a privilege and using these substances will result in losing that privilege.
The Extra Degree 212°
At 211, water is hot. At 212, it boils. And with boiling water, comes steam. And steam can power a locomotive. The one extra degree makes the difference.
